Glad to hear you are free! Nice one spencekat: |
Your story is getting even more interesting I must say. so can we say gambling liberated you from the depression? Also, when you said you gambled for 8 years and months, we can deduce that you no longer gamble. So how did you break free? Mind sharing what worked for you? spencekat: |
Do you mean Depression pushed you into gambling/sports betting? Would you mind sharing what pushed you into depression in the first place? spencekat: |
Love800:OK, so we take the bolded part of your quote. One love. |
Ok. So how did you Start it in the first place, and since the 'serious money' you hoped to get is not coming, what do you think is preventing you from stopping? Because it is like knowing you are going down a hole and you keep digging. Love800: |
Having seen the negative effect of betting on your life(no direction), what would you say is the greatest challenge to quitting? Edoreborn: |
Your story is quite interesting. so it appears that you have betting as a sustainable business model. Can you please enlighten us on how you do this? You also talked about betting responsibly. How do you explain that please, since this may mean different things to different people? Thank you valentineuwakwe: |
In other words, you were influenced by someone's large winnings. Don't worry, you can still get your life on track for success. Edoreborn: |
I am more worried about you than the PCOS! My greatest concern is when you said VERY SOON PEOPLE WILL START ASKING QUESTIONS Did you marry her for them? It is important that you are seeking for solutions early, but one year is not enough to be troubled and your life should not be based on public opinion. Rega99: |
Let's have a honest conversation on this. Could it be that the no.1 reason why we have this virus spreading like wildfire is the EASE of ACCESS which is misunderstood by many as a SHORTCUT for EASY MONEY? All you need is: 1. Walk into any betting shop ( which are just a 'stone throw' as many are littered around). You do not even need to know how to 'book' the games as the shop attendant will happily do that for you. People will be discussing games they are convinced will win, so even if you do not have a game in mind, voila, the shop got you. And talking of conviction, a 'good Samaritan' was so convinced that the Burgos versus Valladolid match played on the 12th of October will end in a draw. To prove his conviction, he promised to personally reimburse anyone who played that game fifty percent of their investment should the game lose. Well, Valladolid won the game by a goal! Welcome to the brotherhood! Does this remind you of the days of 'Key' in Pool gambling? In fact, every pool house displays at least 1 or 2 draws for the weekend; they love you that much that they make it so easy for you. ![]() 2. Most people have android phones and the apps are readily available on the Google Playstore as well as the Appstore, yours to download for 'FREE' 3. Once you enter the app, just like the shops, help is very readily available. Trust the UI/UX and Product Designers who will 'leave no stone unturned' to ensure the platform is intuitive and addictive. Don't know a game to bet on? suggestions abound with enticing odds! They even have options that allow you bet with confidence, as they will pay you should one game cut your ticket! 4. Many platforms allow you place a bet with as little as N20 and you can fund the wallet with as little as N100. This means that you can easily get started, and your journey down the rabbit hole of ruin is very easy WHY DID YOU START GAMBLING? SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE BELOW, let's have a honest conversation....... |
It is no news that gambling has ruined countless lives. However, it seems that every week, a new sports betting/gambling company launches! Obviously, the owners are cashing out while sending tons of people, on a search for hope, into the abyss of hopelessness. I was in a stakeholder meeting recently when the MD of an Engineering company told us that the Management of a popular multinational company (their client whose name I will withhold) are grappling with a serious epidemic; they are inundated with a deluge of requests for salary advance by the 10th of the month! This prompted the management to launch an investigation into the root cause. Alas, it was discovered that sports betting is the 'locust' eating their earnings and leaving them with "too much month at the end of the money" People earn salaries from year to year, but due to the locust of sports betting, they are worse than stuck - they actually retrogress, because from day to day, they sinker deeper into debt. Consequently, they can neither save to invest in themselves by acquiring certifications, furthering their education, starting a business or investing in assets. They even end up selling their assets to feed the 'hope chase' Despite these very obvious problems, WHY DO PEOPLE REALLY GAMBLE? If you are a gambler, why did you START GAMBLING and why have you not stopped? Let us have a candid conversation.
