it's not remotely the same thing. Striking at the leader's residence required a high level of fidelity. It will have to be verified on multiple levels including physical confirmation from the area and required different chains of command approval. the US personnels shooting those things are regular guys just like you and me. They're not above mistakes. There are videos where you can clearly see them striking decoy planes and drones. Russians did the same thing in Ukraine. When you view a target from above it's very easy to hit decoys especially targets that don't require stringent approval and verifications from higher ups (like taking out leaders etc).
