Phones / Re: Tecno Joins Htc Samsung, Others To Launch New UI For mobile.... by Femikutti: 6:58am On Mar 29, 2016
Lovely
vikkytan49:
One of the leading mobile phone maker, Tecno Mobile, in a committed effort to continue to innovate has shown readiness to launch it sown customized user interface (UI) on android, the HiOS.
With the launch slated hold next week in Lagos, Tecno will join the ranks of top mobile players like Samsung, HTC and Huawei that have tailored unique user Interfaces for their android users.
Mobile tech analyst speaking on the hinted launch of Tecno’s customized android operating system on all of the latest devices said the move was long due as the top mobile maker, Tecno seeks to consolidate grip on its African market share.
“I think for Tecno , this is a race for brand differentiation in an increasingly cluttered market. Like other top mobile brands, Tecno’s push of the HiOS user interface into the market through its next-generation mobile devices will immerse more Tecno lovers in the brand’s unique mobile experience. This will make decisions to switch brands by Tecno’s growing community more unlikely,”he says.
The Korean mobile giant, Samsung made the first move to give its mobile community a tailored user experience with the launch of the Touch Wiz 3.0 Lite in 2010 which it has continued to upgrade even to the latest TouchWiz Nature UX 5.0launched on Samsung Galaxy S6 in 2015.
New HiOS to launch on Tecno Boom J8 smart phone
Tecno aims to launch the new HiOS in some style on the brand’s iconic music smart phone, of the Boom family, the new Tecno Boom J8.
This totally upgraded music phone will look nothing like its last year predecessor, Tecno Boom J7 smart phone information hints.
Further reinforcing that claim is Tecno Deputy Marketing manager, Attai Oguche who was noted to have said that the new Tecno Boom J8 smart phone is a complete divergent from its predecessor; boasting 13MP auto-focus rear/ 5.0MP front cameras with dual flash, a 2GB RAM/16GB internal memory ultra-slim smart phone with 5.5” HD IPS touch screen.
“The new Tecno Boom J8 music smart phone is everything a premium music phone should be and it will be Tecno ’s first mobile to host the unique HiOS based on Android 5.1 lollipop,”he said.
The new HiOS will give mobile users a more fluid and eye-candy wallpaper display, cleaner and tidier homepage (with app grouping options), one-touch phone memory free up button, faster app launch and even smarter app manager options.
“The launch of Tecno HiOS in the first quarter of the year and with the brand’s first flagship device of 2016 is quite strategic. I believe Tecno has share of voice (SoV) in mind and we should expect to see subsequent flagships launched on the HiOS with increased media mention across the platforms to drive awareness and interest,” the mobile analyst, said.
Tecno HiOS is a brand tailored version of Android lollipop 5.1 which will get system updates like the regular android OS.

Politics / Re: Federal Allocation For Lagos For January 2016 by Femikutti: 9:15am On Feb 29, 2016
I can actually
Sweetguy25:
So no single person could deduce that these are allocations to Local Governments in Lagos State and not to the Lagos State government?
Politics / Re: Federal Allocation For Lagos For January 2016 by Femikutti: 9:14am On Feb 29, 2016
Hmmmm, omini knowest
2n2k:
@OP. What you posted is not the Lagos State allocation but allocations to each local government in Lagos State. There is a world of difference.

Federation account funds are shared by the 3 tiers of government - federal, states + FCT, local governments and specials funds like ecological.

yeah, you are right but am very sure that they got all you mentioned in mind already.. kudos to them for the ones they have made it is not easy
NCP:

I really appreciate their effort and understanding of the Nigerian market but they can still up their game. Like 5000mah/2gbRAM/16gb/5.5inch etc

User experience and Customer satisfaction is the key.

Phones / TECNO L5: The Ideal Smartphone With Battery Lasting Up To 5 Days by Femikutti: 2:27pm On Jan 11, 2016
Many a time, I have considered buying a torchlight phone/secondary phone for the battery life but the fact that these phones do absolutely nothing but calls and texts has been quite the deterrent, plus, one can’t store beyond 100 contacts in some of the torchlight phones.

I keep convincing myself that I would never be in a position where I would ever need one and that is somewhat true. I’m a party person though and my battery is likely to give out somewhere around the later part of the party where I’m really in need of some connectivity to call my Uber driver.

When I heard about the TECNO L5 on twitter I thought “so this phone does everything else and is still touted to last really long”. I turned a blind eye to other brands with large batteries and that’s the best decision I ever made.

The TECNO L5 runs on android Lollipop and has no compatibility issues whatsoever with any application. It is 110% smart.

About that 5000mAh battery, I don’t know about heavy users or hard core gamers and the rest but for what I do with this phone, it was able to keep its charge for over 5 days before it hit 10%. I think I could even squeeze an extra day on that.

The L5 reminds me of the 3310 because I’m not a light user. I turned this phone into my hotspot station and I cannot even begin to explain how relaxed I am knowing fully well that I would be the only one left with a charge at the end of the day while everyone else is looking for a wall socket—they call them wall huggers.

If what you’re looking for is a reliable android 5.0 lollipop smartphone with a very very long battery life, the TECNO L5 is your sure bet as I have no regrets what so ever as I chose it over a trusty torchlight phone.
