My Visa transcripts goes as thus: just to give you a lil background, i was suppose to go for a conference last year in september. i applied the first time and got denied. I applied again immediately and still was denied. I was yet to know about this site then so my preparation was a bit lacking. So i didn't apply again because the available date does not fall within the conference period. It would have been stupid of me to go for a interview in October for a conference slated for Sept. . As at then i have only gone to India so i know for a fact that my situation/condition needs to have changed a bit before reapplying again next year. So i solved that by going to the UAE for a week training and in addition my salary and role at work has really improved. So here is the transcripts (Will keep it simple because i am at work but also would like others to learn if possible) Me: Before VO could say peem, I quickly cut in. I told her that it appears i didn't fill in the part that talks about who is Sponsoring the trip and made it clear to her that my Employer is my sponsor (with a shaky voice because she don deny all the ppl that she interviewed before me so fear they cash me). VO: Smiled and said no problem. then the next thing she asked if i was going for the same conference. Me: Yes VO: when was the last time you were here Me: Last year ( Like she couldn't see that on my record) VO:do you still work for the same company Me: Yes. I am still with the same company VO: what is the conference all about Me: I downloaded everything for her with the benefits of attending the conference. VO: How will it the conference benefit your employer and what will you do with the knowledge gained? Me: Told her everything on the business will benefit and also added that i have junior colleagues that its my duty to mentor. so knowledge gained will equiped me with the necessary skills to mentor and guide them properly VO: How many ppl are in your team Me: 5 VO: have you travelled recently within the last year? Me: i was in the UAE earlier this year And here comes the word i have been expecting since with a smile on her face. I sha see white paper ![]() Make una no vex oo for making everything short and apologies for the typos. I no be good story teller. |
Thank you all for all your help and advice so far. My visa got approved today. This is actually my third trial. I believe consistency in application form and reason for wanting to travel played to my side. Dnt even bother going to the embassy if you dnt have an important reason to travel. Left to me vacation is not really an important excuses at least not to them with what I have seen today. There are other countries that you can go to. Valid reason to me will be Business, conferences (well known conferences) and medicals. I have seen several wealthy family with plenty traveling history got denied(absconding is never on this ppl’s mind) and trust me they have good ties to the country. Besides I am not a visa expert, this are just the things I noticed during my interview today. Good luck to future applicants. |
Hello Guys, I have a quick question to ask pls. My interview is tomorrow which means changing anything on ds 160 or updating my appointment profile is not possible. I was going through my ds 160 form one last time and realise that the part that asks Person/Entity paying for Your Trip is blank. And i am also surprised that i wasn't prompted to fill the part before saving the form. It baffles me in the sense that you wont be allowed to go to the next page of the form if the previous page hasn't been fully filled. Just surprised on how i could have missed that. Is this a show breaker or there are ways to correct this mistake. The trip is actually being sponsored by my employer. |
Hello People, I plan on travelling to the US for a conference in the US. It's an annual conference which i was denied VISA last year. A colleague of mine was given that same last year, she went and got back within a week without crossing any rule. Now i am reapplying again should i add i am going with someone on ds160 form because we are suppose to go together again or i should maintain going alone. I believe her good behaviour will rub off on me ![]() Secondly, do i have to select group interview while booking for interview since she already has her VISA which she used in travelling for the said conference last year? |
monchat:Thanks for your swift response. what i meant by the 3rd question is: assuming i filled my date of birth to be January 2017 in my previous form and i changed that unknowingly in my second form to January 2018 and then realised i have made a mistake after i had signed and submitted the document. i filled a new document and corrected the mistake. Will the consular know that i filled another form? |
Hello House, thanks for the knowledge you people have been sharing. I have some couple of questions to ask hopefully people will be able to help out. I have been denied b1/b2 twice last year. Was seeking to go to the US for a conference although i blamed myself for the refusal because i wasn't prepared at all ( shy and lacked confidence) and yet to know about this site( This must have been the most underrated site ever). I was asked some question that i would have answered but fear catch me i con dey stammer . I had just a single travel history to India before my refusal but i have strengthen that by visiting Abu dhabi after i was refused.Secondly my role at work has changed and my salary has improved and i own a car now. I have scheduled my interview for July and still applying for the same conference. My questions are: 1. what reason should i give for my initial refusal in my ds160. Should i just say according to 214b i failed to demonstrate i have ties that will compel me to return to my country or is there a way i can juice this up a bit 2. how bad Will the initial double refusal affect my chances 3.If you make a mistake in your ds160 form and you update and correct it after you have submitted initially, will the consular see the edited info. Thanks. |
