AdvertsIf You Are A Business Owner In Nigeria, Read This by Femiwrites(op): 7:53am On May 02
Dear Business owner,

There are times you promote your product or maybe you run Facebook or Instagram Ad.

Now here’s the thing

Whenever you are doing this, pay attention to your “Headline”.

Why?

Let me explain

The headline is the first statement people see when they see your promotions or ad.

In this post, I broke down a compelling headline written by a top copywriter in America.

This post will show you how to reduce bounce rate on your promotions or products website.

Bounce rate means the number of people who visit your page and leave immediately without taking any action.

In marketing, If 100 people visit your website and 70 leave without clicking, scrolling, or reading. That’s a high bounce rate.

Before I go into details, your business can be running ads, making sales, or getting leads and still not be aware that bounce rate is happening.

When there is a bounce rate, it becomes difficult for your target audience to even see your offer.

And if they don’t see your offer, the probability of buying becomes very low. That’s why high bounce rate is not good.

So how can this be reduced?

Pay attention to your headline because that is the first thing they see your promotions or land on your product website.

For example,

Look at this headline written by a top copywriter in America.

To reduce bounce rate, the copywriter starts the headline by saying:

“While 99.99% of American Investors Trade During the Day… I OWN THE NIGHT
While other people toss and turn in their beds, I execute Night Trades… And often find $750, $1,700, or $5,700 in my account the next day”

Now, what the copywriter did here was to disrupt the belief of the audience.

The copywriter can only do this because he DEEPLY understands the target audience belief.

For them, their belief was that trading happens during the day, so he challenges that by saying “I trade at night and often find $750, $1,700, or $5,700 in my account the next day”.

So when the reader sees this headline, it makes them think twice and say “What do you mean you own the night - could this be this is what I’ve been missing”.

But that is not all.

You will notice the figure specificity.

That alone is powerful because it stops the scroll immediately since it looks real and ultra-specific.

Another line that stands out is - “While 99.99% of American investors trade during the day”.

99.99% shows that almost everyone is doing the same thing but this night trading feels like something only a few people (or just him) are doing.

That creates a sense of “I’m different - this is NEW” in the mind of the reader.

Dear Business owner,

Emotion is the language of copywriting.

It is not just what you say with your words, but what is being communicated to your reader.

Oh before I forget, If you have a TikTok account and
you’ve tried growing viral, growing your followers, posting consistently and yet to generate customers, clients or brand deals.

The reason it not working and how it can be solved is

Hope this helps
AdvertsThis Is Something You Should Never Say When Selling Your Product Or Service by Femiwrites(op): 7:14am On May 01
While scrolling through my Facebook Feed last week, I came across an Ad.

The ad says:

“You don’t need Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, or any of those paid advert platforms to generate 650–1000 quality leads daily…”

What is wrong with this?

You see..

When your ad pops up on target audience timeline, they are not just reading, they are analyzing it in their mind.

For example:

When I saw this ad, the first thing that came to my mind was:

“Why are you using Facebook ads to tell people they don’t need ads?”

Now this is just me.

Imagine thousands of people seeing the same ad.

My point?

In copywriting, there’s something called the BIG IDEA.

This is the main message that carries your entire ad.

So when you use a misleading or confusing big idea, people won’t just ignore you, they will start avoiding you or see you as untrustworthy.

Here’s what I would do to make the ad copy better:

Since the message is about generating 650–1000 leads daily using Quora,

First, I’ll ask myself:

“What does the target audience believe about Quora?”

I’m doing this to understand their mindset so I can create a better angle. This requires a little bit of research.

After that, I’ll challenge their belief, make the new idea sound like truth, and make them think twice.

For example:

Let’s say they believe Quora is only for asking and answering questions.

The big idea could be:

“Quora isn’t only used to ask and answer questions… see how you can use it to generate 650–1000 quality leads daily.”

Why?

Ad copy is the first statement that either earns attention or loses it forever.

Let me end with this

The first job of your ad is not to sell.

It is to create curiosity.

When people become curious, they start asking themselves questions.

And the moment questions start, everything else follows.

Oh before I forget, you can as well generate customers, clients or brand deals on TikTok even if you’ve tried growing viral, growing your followers, posting consistently and nothing is working.

AdvertsTiktok Is Not A Good Place, 42 Year Old Woman Cries Out by Femiwrites(op):
April 22nd, 2026, I was scrolling through my X feed and saw a video where a woman was ranting.

Her complaint?

She opened TikTok to post her business and came across a video where two adults were having fun inside a room and recording live.

But then again…

Because of the kind of people in my network,

I commented under the video that the woman’s rant was valid, but it doesn’t make TikTok a bad place.

My reason?

This is the same platform where my friend got a job offer that pays him in foreign currency.

In fact, a 22 year old business owner has been making a lot of mon€y on TikTok, getting customers, and landing influencer partnerships, and she’s not even a celebrity or skit maker.

If you ask me, I think she knows a lot about what really works on TikTok.

After my comment on the video, trust Nigerians…

I received a lot of drags.

That was the first day I got dragged in the comment section on X.

My point?

You see…

In life, there’s something called deductive reasoning.

Deductive reasoning is when you don’t judge the whole based on one bad experience or one small part. You look deeper before concluding.

For example…

Imagine you enter one bad restaurant and the food tastes terrible.

Will you now say every restaurant in Nigeria is bad? Of course not.

That would be wrong.

The same thing applies to TikTok.

Just because some people use it wrongly does not mean the platform itself is bad.

Some people are building businesses there.

Some are getting clients.

Some are getting remote jobs.

Some are getting brand deals.

The platform is neutral.

So it depends on who is using it and how they are using it.

Oh before I forget, the 22 year old girl I talked about…

She said something about TikTok most business owners and service providers who use it to get customers and clients don’t know.

I was dumbfounded too when I saw it. You can read it HERE

Enough of my talk for today.

It seems Nairaland is going to be my mini blog…

I love it here.
