Where exactly have you been sourcing for buyers? Is your company online presence visible? However, you have to build a solid profile online to enable your potential buyer access this information easily and assess your company's credibility.

Hi Nairalanders,

I noticed many people want to go into export business in Nigeria, especially with Agro products like Hibiscus, sesame seed, ginger, cashew nuts, charcoal, and the rest.

I recently helped someone successfully start exporting Hibiscus and ginger, so I’m sharing a step-by-step guide that ANY serious beginner can follow.

✅ 1. Register Your Business
Start with a CAC registration – even a Business Name will do.

✅ 2. Get Exporter’s Certificate
You need to register with NEPC (Nigerian Export Promotion Council) to be recognized as a legal exporter.

✅ 3. Choose Your Product Wisely
For beginners, I usually recommend:

Sesame seed

Ginger

Cashew nuts

Charcoal

They're in high demand and fairly easy to source across Nigerian states.

✅ 4. Know the Required Export Documents

You’ll need:

Proforma Invoice

NEPC Certificate

NXP Form (via bank)

Packing List

Phytosanitary Certificate

Fumigation Certificate (for some products)

Bill of Lading

Certificate of Origin

✅ 5. Work With a Reliable Freight Forwarder
Don’t try to do it alone. Use a licensed clearing agent or freight forwarder who understands non-oil exports.

✅ 6. Avoid These Mistakes

Don’t rush into international deals without verifying buyers.

Avoid sourcing poor-quality products.

Don’t export without understanding export compliance.

Don’t sign any export contract without expert advice.

Interested in Starting?
If you have questions or you're looking to start and need a roadmap, just drop a comment and I’ll share what helped me.

If you’ve started exporting, feel free to share your own journey too. Let’s help more Nigerians go global.

Let me know if you'd like me to drop a simple checklist for first-time exporters in the comment section.

Wow at least you can boast of 30 of 50. Prepare for interview stage. As for me, I can't figure out exactitude as to my true position in that test. Lemme focus on Deloitte whose test date is not fix for now.

I noticed some persons are set to write earlier than others (9, 11 , 3 and 5 pm I believe).

If anybody can get all the questions from the early set (Preferably, the 9am set) and quote me here on Nairaland and I will contact you and we can negotiate on it.... Please let me know if you are interested in trying to get it and we can discuss ASAP. Thank you.

I have written to them via Twitter ... Just search Sterling bank the nonsense bank go just pop up at
Thecvbankng:
This isn't the first time this is happening with Sterling bank recruitment. If you check as far back as their 2014 GT recruitment, same thing happened. But the time was extended to allow folks access the portal and take the test.

But this time around it's workforce group and it's same story. And the reason is simple; the test portal was overwhelmed. They should've extended the period allowed to take the test and this issue would've been minimal. Even after the millionth reminder mails.

I'd advise y'all to go on Twitter and inform Sterling bank and workforce group about what happened, attach screenshots of the error messages as back up and there's no way they'll ignore you guys. But if you stay growling here, they'll go ahead with those that were able to take the test and shortlist successful ones for the next stage.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Sterling Bank (workforce)graduate Trainee Recruitment 2019/2020 by ferdy2020: 3:44pm On Dec 08, 2019
Chai, the test was a sham! Before I could snail in it was already 3 minutes left. I laughed and consoled myself. I'm confident the outcome of this test is not a true reflection of my intellectual ability.

When will we as a nation bring sanity to the recruitment process in Nigeria.

Workforce team! Ndi'ara wait for judgement day in hell
