This is a very difficult and tricky question and I believe it's about time we got it sorted out.

There have been several cases whereby a man dies and his Family begins to go into a fight with the wife and children as to who should inherit his properties. Well, everything in Africa is subject to culture and tradition. Culture is relative since it varies. My culture is different from yours.
In a situation where the deceased didn't write any will before he dies, who should inherit his properties?
Some men may have no male child, or no child at all. If such men die, who should take charge?
Some may have only female children, and we all know how Africans rate women. What happens when he dies without a written will?
Personally, I feel the children, regardless of their gender, should inherit their father's wealth. But in a situation where the man has no child with the wife, the extended family of the deceased can possess his properties. I believe this is more logical.
I believe that a responsible family would NOT fight with his late brothers wife and children when it comes to inheriting his possessions. I don't want to start mentioning tribes, but we know of a particular tribe that would go as far as accusing the wife of killing her husband so as to inherit his properties. They even bath the corpse and give the water to her to drink in order to prove her innocence. Such act is evil and barbaric and must be excommunicated if such practice is still taking place among such people. It is even worse when you're of a different tribe.
