BOOSTING YOUR FERTILITY: HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING PREGNANT (PART 7)

CHART YOUR TEMPERATURE
You may ask, what has my temperature got to do with fertility? Turns out a lot.

After ovulation, the "shell" of the just-released egg produces the hormone progesterone, which causes an increase in temperature. This increase is small (about 0.5 to 1 degree) but is an indication that ovulation has occurred. And it remains so till a few days before the next menses if there is no fertilisation.

So how do you keep track of your temperature?
Because the temperature difference is small, you should use a thermometer that measures in one-tenth of a degree, like a digital thermometer. You can take your temperature by putting it in your mouth for at least 1minute.

Take your temperature in bed in the morning as soon as you wake up, before you do or drink ANYTHING. Keep the thermometer by your bed at night so you don't have to get up for it.

Try to take it at about the same time everyday.
Chart your temperature on a fertility chart. You can also chart the result from your ovulation predictor kit and what your cervical mucus looks like.

Temperature charting should be combined with using an ovulation predictor kit and observation of the cervical mucus.

This is because the temp rise occurs after ovulation, so you have very little time.

Using all three methods of tracking your ovulation will help to pinpoint your fertile period and increase your chances of pregnancy.

If you have any questions, please ask in the comments or send us a message to protect your privacy.

One of the most common questions women ask is “How do I know when I’m ovulating?”

Knowing the fertile period (or ovulation period) is essential for people who are trying to have a baby, especially when fertile cervical mucus is not being produced or there is a need to time intercourse. The most reliable way of knowing is to use an ovulation prediction test.

Ovulation (the release of the egg from the ovaries) occurs just once in a cycle. Even when 2 eggs are released like in twin pregnancies, the two eggs are released at just a few hours apart from each other at most.

Ovulation is triggered by a massive surge in a hormone known as leutinizing hormone (LH).

Ovulation occurs about 36 hours after the beginning of the surge and about 17 hours after LH levels reach their peak. It is therefore important to know when this surge occurs to increase the chances of conceiving.

You don’t need to go to a hospital to do an ovulation test. The LH surge can be detected in urine, so you can predict when ovulation will occur right in your bathroom.

Ovulation prediction kits (OPKs) come in strips or sticks similar to pregnancy test strips. All you need to do is hold the strip or stick under you as you pee or collect your urine in a cup and dip the strip into it. Coloured lines will appear to indicate whether the LH surge is occurring or not.

The first line to form is the test line while the second is the control line. The test line must be as dark as the control line or darker to have a positive. If the test line is absent or faint, the result is negative.
ONCE YOU GET A POSITIVE RESULT, KNOW THAT OVULATION IS AROUND THE CORNER, SO START BABY-MAKING!

You can start testing from the 4th day before your ovulation is likely. This is why you have to know your cycle length. To know your cycle length, count from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. For example, if one period begins on the 1st of June and the next period begins on the 28th of June, count from 1st to 28th which is 28 days.

Ovulation usually occurs about 14 days from the start of the next period, so a woman with a 28-day cycle will likely ovulate around Day 14, a woman with a 26-day cycle may ovulate around Day 12, and so on. This is not an absolute rule though, which is why we need the OPKs to pinpoint the approximate time of ovulation.
Use the OPK for at least 3 months to be able to predict accurately.

Note:
 Try to collect your urine at about the same time every day. The ideal time is said to be from 2-2.30pm, though this is not compulsory.
 Reduce the amount of liquids you drink 2 hours before you do the test so as not to dilute your urine too much
 Read the result within 10 minutes.

Our Ovulation Prediction Kit (1 month supply) comes in a set of 5 Ovulation tests and 1 pregnancy test. It is 99.9% accurate at predicting ovulation. The pregnancy test can detect pregnancy even before you miss your period!

EGG WHITES, PLEASE!

Stella knew something had changed, but she wasn’t sure if it was good or bad. It wasn’t until she had been trying to conceive for about a year that she did some research and became alarmed.

A few months before she got married, she noticed that her cervical mucus had changed, but she put it down to stress. After a year of waiting in vain for a positive pregnancy test, she stumbled across a publication about fertile and infertile cervical mucus. She discovered that her cervical mucus was “hostile” to sperm cells. Could this be the cause of her infertility?

Our last post was about knowing your fertile period. One of the ways you can know this is by observing your cervical mucus.

Cervical mucus is a secretion from the cervix produced almost throughout the cycle in most women. However, it does not remain the same throughout. It changes in consistency in response to the changes within the body.

It may be dry and sticky or creamy just after or before menses. This is the least fertile kind because it is hostile to sperm cells. It may also turn wet as ovulation approaches.

Fertile cervical mucus is very wet, resembles raw egg white and stretches between your fingers for an inch or more. It is sperm-friendly as it allows easy passage of sperm cells and helps to keep them alive. It is a sign that ovulation is around the corner, so you should intensify your baby-making efforts at this time.

Unfortunately, some women experience a reduction in the number of days they see fertile cervical mucus. For some women, it seems to have disappeared completely. This could be a pointer to ovulatory problems.

Also, some drugs such as Clomid (which ironically is meant to stimulate ovulation) dry up cervical mucus.

There are some natural methods for increasing fertile cervical mucus which seem to work for some women. They include:

1. Grapefruit juice squeezed in warm water, coupled with drinking lots of water.

2. Cucumber, also with lots of water a day.

3. Lemon juice, one egg plus Lipton tea.

Note: None of these methods have been tried personally, so we are not sure of their efficacy, but some women swear by them.

Our product FertileCM for Women is a balanced dietary supplement to promote the healthy production of fertile cervical mucus. The ingredients in FertileCM have also been shown to strengthen the uterine lining, which can increase chances for successful conception.

Also, our PreSeed Fertility-Friendly Lubricant is the first lubricant specifically designed for couples that are trying-to-conceive. It is 'sperm-friendly' as it matches the qualities of your fertile cervical mucus so it provides a helpful environment to facilitate conception.

Call or Whatsapp 08068494905 to make your order or ask any questions.

We will talk about the 2nd method of knowing your fertile period in the next post. Stick with us to find out.

3. DO IT AT THE RIGHT TIME!

“I am a housewife while my husband is an offshore oil worker. I have been trying to conceive for over a year now. All our tests came back fine. What do I do?” – Mrs. A

“I am the second of 3 wives of my husband. I’m the only wife that does not have a child yet. I have done all the tests recommended and they say there is nothing wrong with me. What could be causing the delay?” – Mrs. B

These stories, while from 2 different women, may have the same solution.

Mrs. A’s husband, because of his job, can only be home for short periods. Mrs. B, on the other hand, has to share her husband’s time with the other wives. In both cases, sexual relations are limited to when circumstances permit, not necessarily when the women are fertile.

The Ovarian Cycle
After menstruation, the body begins to prepare for another cycle of reproduction. An egg grows to maturity in the ovary and is released around the 14th day of a 28-day cycle. This is known as ovulation.

However, the egg has just about 24 hours to live. If it is not fertilized by a sperm cell before this time, it dies and the opportunity of conceiving is lost.

Fortunately, sperm can survive for up to 5 days in the female genital tract. So the “fertile period” is a narrow window of about 6 days in each cycle. Couples who are trying to conceive should intensify their baby-making efforts in this period.

But what if your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days? How can you be sure when you’re ovulating? Or if you’re ovulating at all? Stick with us to find out.

If you have any questions, send us a message or ask them here so others can learn. We're always on hand to provide answers.

In the meantime, get our Reproaid Fertility Formulas for men and women. They contain all the nutrients and herbs needed for healthy conception and are suitable for everyone.

2. CHANGE YOUR DIET
Did you know you can boost your fertility by up to 80% just by making changes to what you eat? Well, according to research from the Harvard Medical School, you can!

This study found a more than 80% decrease in the risk of infertility in women who made lifestyle changes, including switching to a fertility-friendly diet.

Don’t forget that the hormones that regulate reproduction are built from the foods you eat.

SO WHAT CHANGES ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?

1. Switch to “good carbohydrates”.
Good carbs are found in fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains while the “bad carbs” are found in cookies, cakes, sugary drinks, white bread and white rice).

Your body digests the bad carbs more quickly, turning them into blood sugar. To combat this, the pancreas release insulin. More blood sugar leads to more insulin release, and high levels of insulin have been found to inhibit ovulation.

2. Consume less trans fats.
Trans fats (found in baked foods and snacks) increase your body’s resistance to insulin, which means more insulin will be released to do the same work than before.

3. Eat less of animal protein and more of plant protein.

4. Drink coffee, tea and alcohol in moderation.

5. Avoid low-fat dairy products.

6. Take a daily supplement that contains at least 400 milligrams of folic acid and 40 grams of Iron

Only about 10% of infertility cases are classified as "unexplained infertility". Which means there is an identifiable cause in over 90%.
However, most affected people do not know why they can not conceive or what to do about it. So they run from pillar to post, wasting their hard-earned money, being scammed by fraudsters, sometimes even taking harmful substances.
The truth is not everyone needs expensive or complicated treatment for infertility. Sometimes, just a little change in your lifestyle or taking the right supplement can bring your miracle baby. But you need to know what to do. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.
That is why this thread was started.
Fertilessence is a platform for giving out free fertility information and providing genuine fertility products at the best prices.
We will be giving out free fertility tips on this thread one after the other to make sure everyone is following, so follow this thread so as not to miss out.
You can ask any questions related to fertility here so other people can learn. You can also call or Whatsapp 08068494905.
Okay. so here goes:

WAYS TO BOOST YOUR FERTILITY
1. WATCH YOUR WEIGHT
Your weight has a lot to do with your fertility. Studies have shown that being overweight or underweight can greatly reduce your chances of getting pregnant in both men and women.

Obesity can cause hormonal imbalances and ovulatory problems and is associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), a common cause of infertility.

You can use your Body Mass Index (BMI) to know where you fall on the spectrum. Your BMI is calculated as your weight in kilograms divided by the square of your height in metres. A normal BMI is 18.5 to 24.9. Below this, you’re underweight, and above it, you’re overweight (or obese if your BMI is above 30).

Healthy eating and regular exercise can help you get your BMI to the healthy range. We’ll talk about this in our next post.

Hello mamas in this noble house, before I start I'll need to apologize before hand for my questions might seem naive.
I've been following this thread for a few months now & I've benefited immensely, thanks to inputs from here. However my understanding of many write-upd has been restricted by my limited knowledge of the common acronyms used in this thread.
All I know is TTC & DH.
Abeg oh make una no vex, help me with a list of d common acronyms make I update my catalogue.
Secondly, we've been TTC for over a year now & my sweet wife has been battling this stubborn candidiasis, we've treated it 2ce & now treating it d third time, I've been told it can prevent conception. Over d last 6/7 months she's had irregular periods, some months her cycle will be 34 some as long as 37 days, we were even forced to run pregnancy test.
We've visited one gynea, ran d basic HSG, ECG, SFA, hormonal profile, all seemed fine, but the gynea didn't seem convinced about d HSG & recommended a second one after 6 months.
I've changed to another one who's started afresh we've conducted TVS & d radiologist that sis it said he's saw polycysts, BUT IT SHOULDN'T PREVENT CONCEPTION, coz it wasn't much, however that's contrary to what I've read about PCOS, although my wife doesn't exhibit most of the symptoms, & we're not yet done with d other tests like ovulation tracking, SFA & hormonal assay.
For a start, this is what I need to know, I've read here that Ruzu bitters is good for erratic flows & treating infections, how effective is this, & what's d recommended dosage?
I thank y'all for your inputs, both medical & personal experiences
Hi.
Candidiasis is fungal or yeast infection and it could arise from overzealous use of antibiotics. The bacteria and fungi live together in healthy competition. If you kill off the bacteria, the fungi will overgrow and cause an infection. Pls use only an antifungal like Clotrimazole pessary ( there are different brands).
If all your tests are normal, you should relax and not use different products that can interfere with madam's cycle.
As for the polycysts, you need to seek the opinion of your doctor. PCOS has 3 components,: polycystic ovaries, increased androgens and an ovulation (I.e. no ovulation). Obesity may or may not be present. Androgens are the male sex hormones like testosterone. If madam's hormone profile does not show increased testosterone and the TVS showed a dominant or already burst follicle, she probably doesn't have PCOS.
