Adeleke Has Squandered Over N1 Trillion in Three Years — APC Governorship Campaign Spokesperson

• Says Adeleke is a colossal failure who spent N92 billion on food consumption but invested only N7 billion in agriculture in three years

• Accuses governor of hiding details of N57.6 billion debt cancellation gesture by Federal Government

• Reveals AMBO’s plans on agriculture, health, housing, electricity

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has condemned what it described as the reckless mismanagement of public resources by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, alleging that over N1 trillion in revenue has been squandered in less than three years without commensurate development across Ọsun State.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the APC Governorship Campaign Council, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, made this known in Osogbo on Monday.

Omowaiye disclosed that while the state has enjoyed unprecedented revenue inflow, the Adeleke administration has little to show for it, accusing the government of prioritizing frivolities over meaningful development. He specifically alleged that about N92 billion had been spent on “wining and dining,” describing it as a gross misplacement of priorities.

He further accused the administration of concealing vital financial information from the public, particularly the reported N57.6 billion debt cancellation granted to the state by the Federal Government.

“The people of Ọsun deserve transparency. It is unacceptable that such a huge financial relief is being hidden from public scrutiny by a government that claims to be accountable,” he stated.

Omowaiye noted that the governorship candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), represents a clear alternative with a vision anchored on responsible governance and people-oriented policies.

According to him, an Oyebamiji administration will focus on critical sectors such as agriculture, education, health, transportation and power generation. He explained that with the recent decentralization of electricity generation and distribution by the National Assembly, state governments now have the constitutional backing to generate and improve electricity supply within their domains.

“This is a major opportunity that Oyebamiji will leverage to transform Ọsun’s power sector, stimulate industrial growth and improve the quality of life of our people,” he said.

Omowaiye further revealed that the APC candidate plans to reintroduce the car loan scheme for civil servants and revive the food support programme, both of which were discontinued by the current administration upon assumption of office. He added that Oyebamiji would prioritize housing development for workers and promote mortgage schemes to make home ownership accessible to citizens.

He stressed that the immediate past APC administration under former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola constructed 30 housing units for medical doctors at the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro---an achievement he said the current government has failed to replicate despite receiving far higher revenues.

Omowaiye assured that an APC-led government would be prudent in managing public resources, unlike what he described as the current administration’s pattern of reckless spending.

He also criticized the Adeleke government for allegedly awarding road construction contracts to incompetent and unqualified firms with no track record in infrastructure delivery, claiming that contracts have been handed to fertilizer distribution companies, cyber café operators and estate agents.

“Oyebamiji will engage competent, world-class contractors to deliver durable and high-quality infrastructure projects across the state,” he assured.

Omowaiye further described the Adeleke administration as a failure, alleging that it has already seen the handwriting on the wall ahead of the August governorship election, hence its resort to propaganda, falsehood, and mudslinging.

In the same statement, Omowaiye also set the record straight on several issues deliberately misrepresented by government sympathizers.

He clarified that the half-salary regime in Ọsun did not begin under Oyebamiji as Commissioner of Finance, explaining that the policy started in June 2015, while Oyebamiji assumed office in May 2017---two years after its introduction. He added that within few months of appointment of Oyetola, he ensured the half-salary regime ended in Osun and full payment was activated for all workers.

On the issue of alleged payroll fraud, Omowaiye explained that the audit conducted by Sally Tibbot Consulting was commissioned by the Adeleke administration in 2023, not 2022 as falsely claimed, stressing that the findings relate to the current government, not the previous one.

He also corrected misinformation regarding the establishment of the University of Ilesa (UNILESA), stating that it was conceived and fully established by the Oyetola administration, which ensured its inclusion in the JAMB portal and completed all necessary groundwork before the exit of the APC government.

Omowaiye further debunked claims that local government allocations were being withheld by the Federal Government, clarifying that the funds are being released to duly elected local government chairmen.

On security, he challenged the notion that it is solely the responsibility of the Federal Government, noting that state and local governments also play crucial roles. He questioned why the Adeleke administration has accessed N15 billion in security votes if it claims to have no responsibility in that regard.

He urged the Osun State Government to come clean on the alleged N57.6 billion debt relief and called on members of the media to uphold professionalism by reporting facts rather than amplifying propaganda.

“The people of Ọsun deserve truth, accountability, and purposeful leadership. That is what Oyebamiji represents,” Omowaiye concluded.

Education › Re: Oyebamiji Gives ₦1M To LAUTECH Best Graduating Student, Olugbenga Oladepo by FGbenga(f): 11:53am On Jun 01
Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for Osun State, has fulfilled a pledge of One Million Naira to the best graduating student of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH). The beneficiary, Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga, received the sum via a ceremonial cheque presentation on May 12, 2026, attended by the student and his mother. The presentation was organised by the Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji Students Support Group (AMBOSS).

The One Million Naira pledge was made by Oyebamiji widely referred to by his acronym ambo as part of his education-focused campaign commitments. The promise specifically targeted the best graduating student from LAUTECH as a recognition of academic excellence, and its fulfilment comes ahead of the Osun State gubernatorial election scheduled for August 2026, in which Oyebamiji is the APC candidate challenging incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga, who earned the distinction of best graduating student at LAUTECH, was present at the ceremony alongside his mother.

[quote author=press9jatv post=139399124]I Will Pay Salary Arrears Of Teachers, Health Workers Sacked In 2022 – Oyebamiji

Celebrates Osun-born LAUTECH Best Graduating Student

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has assured that his administration would reabsorb the 1,500 teachers and the 515 health workers who were illegally and unceremoniously sacked by the current administration in the state.

He not only assured of their reinstatement, Oyebamiji equally promised to facilitate the payment of their salary arrears as well as restoring respect and dignity to the public service.

The 1,500 teachers were part of the 2,500 teachers employed by the immediate past APC administration led by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. Since sacking of the teachers and health workers, the Adeleke government has not successfully recruited new workers to replace them.

Oyebamiji made this solemn promise on Tuesday in Osogbo during a strategic meeting with the affected workers.

The atmosphere at the venue of the meeting was electrifying as the excited sacked workers received the joyous assurance from the APC governorship candidate. The affected workers offered prayers for the success of AMBO as they expressed their willingness to support the gubernatorial ambition of the former Commissioner of Finance in the state.

On the same day, the APC governorship candidate met with the overall best graduating student of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, Caleb Olugbenga Oladepo, a proud product of the public school system established and strengthened by previous APC administrations in the state.

Oladepo, from Ejigbo Local Government Area of the state, graduated with a First Class degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, an academic feat which has continued to attract widespread commendation.

Oyebamiji celebrated the excellence demonstrated by the young scholar, offering him a cash reward of One Million Naira Only ( N1 Million ) just as he used the occasion to encourage students across the state, particularly those from public schools, that with determination, discipline and hard work, they too can attain greatness in their academic pursuits.

The APC notes with concern that despite the positive attention and honour Oladepo has brought to Osun State through this remarkable achievement, the present state government has not deemed it fit to identify with or celebrate the trailblazer. This is in sharp contrast to the characteristic attitude of the governor who is often quick to seek media attention in celebrating winners in less profound endeavours.

Oyebamiji also used the occasion to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC-led Federal Government for the installation and activation of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), a major financial intervention that came to the rescue of Oladepo at a critical moment in his academic journey.

Oladepo disclosed that he benefitted from the Federal Government student loan scheme for three years when he was on the verge of dropping out of school due to severe financial difficulties faced by his parents.

The APC governorship candidate further promised that upon becoming Governor of Osun State, his administration would activate policies that would make education affordable and pocket-friendly for all citizens of the state.

He expressed particular concern over what he described as cut-throat and exploitative school fees currently being charged in state-owned tertiary institutions, especially at the University of Ilesa (UNILESA) and Osun State University (UNIOSUN).

According to him, the N1.5 million school fees being charged in some programmes in the institutions are outrageous and beyond the reach of average citizens, assuring that his government would take drastic and practical steps to address the situation.
