PoliticsRe: People In NNPC Don’t Want Subsidy Scam To End - Emir Sanusi by Fire4fireNL:
I really do like Sanusi a lot - as an economist, not as an emir.

I think he raised valid points here - if we can't thank Dangote for what he has done as an African, we should not condemn him either.

If Dangote got the dollar at same rate as others, what wrong has he done? He didn't fix the dollar price, the CBN did.

Moreover, what sensible CBN governor won't give support to such massive refinery project?

Considering the amount the NNPC has spent on non-existent TAM for over 10 years, no sane person should accuse Dangote of trying to monopolize the market.

Let's even be sincere. Of all Dangote's line or group of business, which of it is monopolized? Maybe there is one or more, but none that I'm aware of.

Like Sanusi concluded, instead of killing Dangote, we should try to make more like him.
PoliticsRe: Justice Ariwoola Performs Groundbreaking For Court Of Appeal complex (Photos) by Fire4fireNL: 10:32pm On Jul 03, 2024
Same appeal court deciding Rivers HOA crisis case tomorrow, accepting a complex building project from a party in the case (indirect though)?.. I don't know whether to laugh or smile.
PoliticsRe: Last Words Of DC. Andrew Essien While Facing Reps Committee by Fire4fireNL: 3:40am On Jun 26, 2024
More reason why we need to take our health serious. Nigerians only go to the doctor when they are really sick or at the point of death. We can avoid a lot of chronic disease with just one annual wellness visit, or even once every two years. That way, things can be detected early and promptly treated. This saves money and life down the line.

RIP to the man. It's so painful to lose a love one like this... just imagine this man left home this morning, healthy and sound. Now they have to inform the family that he's no more... so sad.
PoliticsRe: Sokoto Assembly Passes Emirate Council Amendment Bill by Fire4fireNL: 3:35am On Jun 26, 2024
We all can see the excesses of this governors... this is one of the major reasons most peeps are against state police... with all this depose and undepose currently sweeping the nation, how do we trust this governors not to misuse their authorities when state police finally get approved?

If state police mistakenly get approved, then don't expect any opposition party to win any states in guber elections going forward.
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Deploys Military As Finance Bill Protests Turn Deadly, Four Killed by Fire4fireNL: 3:24am On Jun 26, 2024
This shows that all countries has it's own problem it's dealing with. Raising taxes to raise revenue for the government is not peculiar to Nigeria. This is really how most countries raise more revenue.

The new Kenya finance bill include new levies/taxes on basic amenities such as bread, vegetable oil and even sugar lol... not only that, you now have to pay annual motor vehicle circulation tax pegged at 2.5% of the value of your car.

What's Kenya's population again sef?
PoliticsRe: LP Crisis: Peter Obi Names Three People To Decide Abure’s Fate by Fire4fireNL: 3:19am On Jun 26, 2024
Abure's fate as the National Chairman of LP is currently hanging in the hands of NEC, Obi, and Otti... wonderful.

Two things are involved here.

First, if Obi and co decides Abure should go, he (Abure) will burn down both the house (party) and it's occupant (aspirants). The Abure of a guy is desperate. He sure looks like someone that won't go quietly. That is when we will know what exactly happened to all the campaing funds... Don't forget, they talked about auditing their campaign finances. It's almost 18 months after the last election, and almost 30 months to the next election, when will they release how campaing finance was spent? Accountability should be the key word of a party looking to lead the country. We have had transparency and accountability issues with past administrations. If we are going to trust LP with our national purse, they should start by now showing us how they intend to lead the country. What are they going to do different from past administrations of PDP and APC?

Secondly, if Obi and co decides Abure should stay, what message are they passing to Nigerians? Abure has so many baggage to deal with. Fraud and forgery are felony offense. If the party should retain him as the chairman, then LP members and supporters don't have the moral right to criticize the PDP and APC. They are all the same. Just like we have Ganduje as the APC chairman, and PDP at a time had Modu Sherrif as it's chairman...

I think the coming days are going to be really interesting.

Comrades, grab a chair, relax, and enjoy the movie..... but how person wan take relax for this Tinubu regime sef.... everywhere dey hot...
Abeg make we go hustle and leave politicians to do their thing... all politicians are the same... from America to Asia, to Africa, etc.
Foreign AffairsRe: Hezbollah Stores Missiles And Explosives At Lebanon’s Main Airport by Fire4fireNL:
Israel has a right to defend itself, and go after any terrorist nation/organization that attacks its territory and citizens. I don't and will never support or condone any terrorist attack.

That being said, I think Israel is also gradually turning into a terrorist nation, with Netanyahu at the helm of affairs.

Don't be deceived, Netanyahu is only fighting for his survival, not for the security of Israel.

Netanyahu don't want to stop the war for his selfish reason. He knows one thing for sure - he will be held responsible for the October 7 attack. Once that happens, he loses his seat as the PM, and then he has to go face his corruption case, which he has been frantically trying over the years to delay till after his death.

Hamas is an ideology, just like boko-haram, ISWAP, etc. You can't totally defeat an ideology. It lives inside of people, generation after generation. If Isreal should succeed (although not possible) to eliminate or capture all Hamas current leaders and fighters, the little ones and the ones yet unborn will do way worse than their present crop of leaders.

Don't forget, these terrorist organizations are so swift in replacing their killed or captured leaders. If you look through the years, you will discover that the new set of leaders are always brutal than their previous. Yahya Sinwar has done way worse than the previous Hamas leaders. No one, I mean no Hamas leader has ever had the balls and courage to lead such a deadly and powerful attack against Israel. Guess what, Yahya Sinwar just showed his people that Isreal is not invincible afterall.

Hamas has achieved it's goal - breached Israel's border security, killed and maimed Israelis, and then kidnap both soldiers and civilians. Even if Israel should kill every living thing in Palestinian right now, it won't change the fact that Hamas has achieved their aim.

Hamas don't value life, just like all every other terrorist organizations.

We are gradually approaching the one year anniversary of the sad attack. Israel has been battling Hamas in Gaza for over 8 months, and yet hamas fighters and Yahya Sinwar are still breathing. They still have the hostages, even right there inside Gaza. That should tell you that even if Israel occupies Gaza till Jesus comes, hamas will never be completely destroyed. This is a fact.

Israel, under Netanyahu should not bite more than it can chew.

Hezbollah is more sophisticated than Hamas, that's not up for argument. They have more precision weapons, supplied by Iran.

Isreal facing Hezbollah at this time is a wrong choice. It won't end well.

If not for the US and other European countries defense capabilities, Israel would have been badly hit during Iran's retaliation attack few months ago. Forget the Iron Dome, the Iranians missile would have overwhelmed them. Even Hezbollah hit one of the iron dome few weeks ago.

The world do not want any more war at this time. In case you don't know, the cost of war is expensive. We are still suffering the fall-out of Russia-Ukraine war.

You might think it doesn't affect you, but these things disrupt the world economy, and as a result, affect each and every country, irrespective of the continent the war is being waged
PoliticsRe: Apapa Faction Makes U-turn, Backs Abure As LP Chair by Fire4fireNL: 6:53pm On Jun 22, 2024
I have always maintained - all politicians are packaged fraud.

Don't come here and tell me one is better than the other. They are only worse than the other, nothing better about them.

LP is the last party Nigerians should hand over the country's affairs to. They would be way worse than APC.

Just imagine how swiftly they closed rank to fight their perceived enemy " NLC". Meanwhile they've been at each other's jugular for over 12 months. What a shame.

Their fight is not for the common man, rather, it's for their selfish interests.

PoliticsRe: Like Buhari, Peter Obi Is A Repackaged Fraud And He Knows It Himself - Sowore by Fire4fireNL:
This is the same position I've always maintained - all politicians are packaged fraud.

Don't come here and start wailing that one is holier than the other.

Nigerians were presented with 3 packaged fraudulent presidential aspirants in 2023, we only managed to pick the best packaged of them all.

One thing is certain though - Peter Obi never won that election. He performed woefully in the North. That alone cost him that election. He himself knows this... and any reasonable follower(s) should know this too.

They all rigged massively... I mean all three major political party rigged, but the best rigger won. Now, we have a president.

In terms of performance, I believe the Bola Tinubu's administration is on the right track to carry out the necessary reforms to push the country to greater heights in the years ahead (Long-term). Honestly, these reforms are needed if we must compete with other world economies. We can't continue doing same thing year and year again, expecting a different result. A reboot is needed, and I so much believe now is the right time.

In as much as these reforms are needed, a short term welfare package should be provided to the citizens mostly affected by the reforms. No doubt, these reforms brings suffering and hardship in real time, so government should as a matter of urgency make available resources to counter some of the hardships from these reforms.

Stylishly saying decamping is a possibility. They don't and can't stay with one party. If APC offers Obi it's 2027 presidential ticket this minute, him and his movement would decamp before midnight today. Then all of a sudden, APC will become the best thing after bread and butter... shio... when politicians deceive us finish, we all go dey alright las las..
