The Nigeria police force has waded into what now seems more like a kidnapping case of the two children of Mohammed Babangida in the aftermath of his crashed marriage to Rahama Idimi, daughter of Maiduguri based billionaire, Mohammed idimi. Sources revealed that the mother of the missing children, Rahama is in Saudi Arabia and left the two children in the custody of the sister, Zahra idimi. The rejuvinated Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has finally stepped into the simmering crisis that is set to consume the former Executive Director of National Health Insurance Scheme, Olufemi Thomas, over a $2.1 million (about N413million) suspected money laundering case. A source at the commission said the agency has been on the trail of the former NHIS boss for sometime after a Bureau De Change operator, one Ibiteye Bamidele, named him as the owner of a $2,198,900 cash, recovered from him by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Mr. Bamidele was arrested on July 3 at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, by officials of the NDLEA. He was then handed over to the EFCC on July 8, for further interrogation. he last has not been heard about the murder of Alhaji Olatunji Rasaq, alias Alaso (aka Alhaji Gay), who was killed few weeks back in Alagbado area of Lagos state. The arrested suspects includes the Baale of Temidire Alagbado, Chief Nojeem Abioye, his son, and nine others. They were arrested and detained over the weekend, and are still being interrogated at the State Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, SDCII, Yaba. Six minors are still with top Laos side Champasak United, after it imported 23 under-age players from West Africa to an unregistered football academy in February, a BBC investigation found. Fifa regulations prohibit the movement of players to a foreign club or academy until they are 18. The club, based in the southern city Pakse, denies any wrongdoing. “Fifa is in contact with several member associations in order to gather all information to assess the matter and safeguard the interests of the minors,” a Fifa spokesperson told the BBC.
