UkoAnnang:

Life is a mystery
One could not believe
Why growing up there was this specie of snakes will don't kill in our community no matter what, and these snakes don't bite even if you mistakenly step on them.
These snakes often goes to people home Sometimes we can be sleeping on top of the bed while they sneak in under, sometimes they laid the door frame, sometimes down behind the local clay port my grandmother used to preserve drive water water. My grandmother knew but wouldn't tell us until when our eyes eventually caught on it that's when my grandmother will talk to it and they will slowly move out of the house.
There was once my aunt delivered a baby and decided to come home for care, lo we heard my aunt called out in the night we woke up when rushed in behold we see this snake right at the bed frame where the baby laid his head. My grandmother told us to calm down that it came to see the baby and talk to it and rolled back to little hole in the ceiling.
It was like that in every home, even elders will pack their motorcycle and help them cross the the if found on the road trying to cross to avoid it being killed.
There was this shrine in the community where these creatures will come all out in every particular market day, and in such days elders of the community will put palmfront across the road leading to that shrine and the village square so strangers wouldn't take that route.
In such days they will come out in numbers filled the community square where the shrine was located, elders who were fearless enough still walk through there without being bitten by any, but motorcycle, bicycles and cars will not go in there in such days. Eyen eka, its still very active oh... Modernization wan boot our tradition comot... What a pity...🤦🏾♂️ |

Family › Re: People Who Inherited Nothing From Their Parents, How Do You Cope by Fisiryorh(m): 7:09pm On Feb 22 |
as69: Same boat as OP. Inherited absolutely nothing in terms of land, property, money. My parents did their best but they were also starting from zero and honestly just surviving.
But ahmedio2017 made a point that hit me — my parents paid school fees consistently. Never missed a term even when things were tight. That is actually worth something. Not everyone gets that. So I can't say zero.
Fisiryorh said something important though — the goal now is to break the cycle. I think about that a lot. Whatever I build, I want my own kids to start from a better position than I did. Doesn't have to be property necessarily, it can be good education, connections, skills. Just give them a head start.
As for OP's friend — now that you've explained he wants to use the money to jump into a business he knows nothing about, your advise was actually correct lol. Land appreciates. A business you dont understand will disappear. Classic Nigerian story — someone hypes a "lucrative" opportunity, brother sells asset, loses everything within a year.
That said, if he had a proper plan with the money and understood what he was getting into, selling 1 out of 4 plots wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. It's the "they said it's lucrative" part that is the red flag.
Those of us who inherited nothing honestly grind differently sha. Theres something that happens to your mentality when you know nobody is coming to bail you out. Gbam...👊🏾💯 |

saphiere: It's sickening. Almost every thread on front page is full of that spammer message. They mods can't tell me that they don't see it.
How can one claim he doesn't have what to eat and yet have data I honestly am tired of seeing such..the mods don't do anything about it yet, they would place bans on irrelevant things... I think scamming runs through the foolish human beings vein... |
