Now that Buhari is the president, to get money to buy Vaseline self na wahala for some people |
President Muhammadu Buhari may ask his predecessor Goodluck Jonathan for help over latest attacks by a militant group Niger Delta Avengers on oil installations. Daily Trust reports that President Buhari has invited former president, who is an indigene of oil-rich Bayelsa, to visit Aso Rock this week. The Niger Delta Avengers’ attacks have caused a key drop in Nigeria’s oil output from 2.2m to 1.65m barrels per day. The group has also promised more attacks, cautioning oil companies in the region to evacuate their staff. It is considered that Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike, who yesterday visited the Aso Rock, discussed the same issue with the president. Wike and the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, left the president’s office at about 2:30pm without speaking to reporters. The militant group rose to world prominence after claiming responsibility for two attacks in May. First, the NDA blown-up a Chevron facility off the coast of Escravos on May 4. Just over a week later, another explosion happened at Chevron Nigeria Ltd.’s Marakaba line oil facility in Warri. The Niger Delta lost its ambitions to power last year when Buhari, a northerner, defeated Jonathan in elections. Jonathan’s government gave the region political prestige: key ministerial posts, patronage and the spoils of the oil industry. Since inauguration, President Buhari has endeavored to answer some of his constituents’ demands by dismantling the system, eradicating corruption in the oil industry and reforming it to increase transparency. Many of the Niger Delta’s politicians see this rearrangement of power and revenue as a loss in a zero-sum game. source : https://www.naij.com/832611-president-buhari-running-help-jonathan.html?source=index_shared |

The Senate on Wednesday, May 4, resolved to enact a law prescribing death penalty for kidnappers to serve as deterrent and curb kidnapping in Nigeria. This followed the adoption of recommendations of the report of by the Joint Committee on Police Affairs, National Security and Intelligence on the ‘unfortunate reoccurrence of kidnapping and hostage taking’. Although the report had only six recommendations, most of the senators sued for stringent punishment to serve as deterrent which prompted the addition and adoption of the recommendation for death penalty. The additional recommendation for capital punishment was proposed by Senator Adamu Alliero and adopted by the Senate. The Senate also adopted the recommendation that the funding of security agencies be taken as a priority project while efforts should be geared to create employment opportunity to our teaming unemployed youths. Senator Dino melaye recommended that kidnapers be hung or face firing squad. The senate president commend the committee. |

I was in a group chat forum of an app called "Chatimity" in which the members online were discussing about their countries. I don't know the "evil spirit" that prompted me to ask "Anyone being to Nigeria?" .This is the reply I got from one of the members (The last reply)
