lovewins: You probably need to find the right section to accommodate the topic. I don't think it's against Nairaland is averse to discussions like this (I stand corrected). Trust me, I've tried. Maybe you can create one then you tag me on it lovewins: The illustration on Ben and Dave you gave didn't quite justify why you easily tag people with contrary views hateful. Let's start with the definition of the word "phobia". It literally means extreme or irrational fear for something. "Aerophobic" people have extreme fear of flying. It however doesn't translate into them hating planes. I could list many other phobias to establish my point, but I believe you get it. It is only when it concerns LGBTQ folks phobia assumes a new meaning. It is termed hateful, prejudice, discrimination etc. People only take exception to being termed homophobic because the term as assumed a new meaning hinged almost entirely on hate and all of this is done simply to stifle speech and make people so afraid of sharing their views for fear of being seen as hateful
It's why I referenced earlier how scientists now changed terms and tailor researches to drive certain agenda and suit narratives. I recall how that during the pandemic, the CDC in their bid to shill for big pharma quite literally changed the textbook definition of vaccination, all simply because the experimental vaccine for COVID while it helped wasn't effective enough to be termed a vaccines as people who got "vaccinated" could still get infected. That's a discourse for another day.
So while that fear (phobia) may be rooted in hate, the vast majority of people do not fall into these category. Fir example, Dave and Ben are colleagues who work together and agree on a vast majority of things. Ben's position on the subject is largely religious. He probably holds same position on premarital sex too. It doesn't mean he hates those who have sex outside marriage. You see how lazy that thinking is?
Finally on voting against positions like this. I'm sometimes startled by those who hold liberal views and who most times posture as vanguards of democracy who literally do not understand how democracy works. It's literally a people's government. It means if the bast majority of people hold on to certain views and certain values, they are likely to vote for someone who they believe will help in the furtherance of it. I hope you know pedophiles believe they are being denied their right. They are even rebranding and in many universities in the US are now being referred to as Minor attracted persons (MAP). And hope you know if they have the numbers they would vote in someone who will help make legal their "rights". It's quite literally how democracy works. So what we do is have conversations like this to convince people to our side in hope that we get the numbers to either further or keep our values as the law of the land. I really don't want to deviate from this thread as football fans are noticing and are beginning to get mad. I have lots to say so if you can create one, that will be great, just tag me there |

lovewins: Create a thread at the appropriate section, and maybe a conversation can happen. I have tried to do that multiple times but it gets reported and deleted because I'm flouting some "rules" lovewins: An aside, it is lazy thinking and quite frankly bottom barrel behaviour to term people with opposing views on a subject as hateful. I know this is typical of liberal thinking particularly when they want to stifle speech, but I appeal to you to grow out of it. Hell nah, reminds me of the Convo Dave Rubin and Ben Shapiro had, they are both conservatives except Dave is gay and they are "friends" (if that's what a friend is) Ben literally told Dave to his face that he will vote against his rights to get married only for the "pick me" Dave to bring up the same argument you are citing now but yea....they are friends!!!. I always fell for the "it's just an opposing view narrative" because deep down I thought a middle ground could be had but not when if given a chance or choice today, you will vote against my rights talkless of the homophobic echo chamber that exist on this forum who will do far worse so yes, it's hateful, it goes beyond an "opposite view", it's giving "I'm not homophobic, I have gay friends but....." The only thing that we can have (even if both of us know it's going nowhere) is a debate which this forum won't even let happen lol, it's ok |

lovewins: Didn't want to contribute to this argument, but you'll be ignorant to think "science" hasn't been compromised to push certain agendas. This argument has been rendered moot because political agendas will always come up as an agenda for the oppressor. E.g your existence as a black person was seen as an agenda despite science hence why you were viewed as inferior to your white counterparts, fast forward to the early 20th century and giving black folks rights in eurocentric countries was seen as agenda because you were a minority, another example is the suffrage movement for women and society seeing them as people rather than just breeding elements. This right here has already rendered your argument moot and if I'm even to go further, the bigots who rendered homosexuality a mental illness were in on an agenda. Everything is agenda driven, it just depends on the agenda you support lovewins: What makes something natural isn't the fact that it exists. For instance, we have children who have been born without hands legs and limbs, they exists but it doesn't make the occurrence natural. When they happen we recognise them for what they are; and anomaly. You'll notice the careful use of language "observe", because it isn't naturally occuring. The term you are looking for is "normal" not "natural", two different words, one is society inclined, the other is innate. Limbless children are an anomaly and anomalies are natural but not normal, same for homosexuality, it's natural but not normal because society defines what's normal. Killing of twins in a specific part of this country was viewed as normal not natural lovewins: Isn't it the same "scientist" that have reduced baby in the womb to "clump of cells" in a bid to advance their abortion agenda? Or the same said it was okay for protesters to protest in 2020 but churches couldn't gather even at 25% capacity? Or the same ones in a bid to pander to the trans movement can no longer define what a woman is? Even top tier medical schools like John's Hopkins have now redefined feminine terms to fit the narrative? This fits in with the "everything is an agenda narrative" lovewins: I could go on and on. Point is, you can't see a naturally occuring same sex animal Already rendered moot, you expect people to take the advice of a mere person like you when there are those who worked on the field, c'mon now And you chose the moniker "lovewins" when it's "hatewins" instead. Look, everyone have freewill to support whatever they want, the problem is you bigoted people relish in the oppression of a minority that you will never understand. You are out here speaking about homosexuality but y'all turn a blind eye to homophobia when it's happening. I personally don't support what France did |

Napoleon55: First, I don't support any form of oppression, nor does my post u quoted suggest that.
But if u are a homosexual, and u think by playing victim under the shield of homophobia will exonerate u,or justify ur act. u r wasting ur time, society will never accept u.
I condemn homosexualism because it's evil. However the oppression of the LGBT people is another thing which I don't support. They are people and should b given a chance to change or repent.
If u think that u enlighten because u accepted gayism ,know that u are being mislead. You literally compared homosexuality to racism so yes, you support one form of oppression because of your personal prejudice but denounce the other, that's right there is in support of a form of oppression and it's ok, just don't get mad when people are racists after all, tribalism that goes on in this country and racism are two sides of the same coin |

My point is that homosexuality is not some unnatural strange thing artificially invented by some devil and foisted on people through brainwashing tactics as many seem to believe here. It is 100% natural and created by God or whoever/whatever it was that created us. They rather choose to live in their bubble than educate themselves |

Mujtahida: The opening ceremony for the Olympics was a gay woke eyesore. It had nothing to do with sports. Awful, disgraceful display of depravity and shamelessness. France that has a rich culture of art, music and invention allowed the degenerate gay elite to rubbish it on the global stage. The display was greeted with global outrage. Many people are boycotting what ought to be a unifying event. Growing up many families gathered to watch this memorable events but today it's a cesspool of corruption that will greet your eyes if you decide to watch it.
I'm beginning to get wary of opening ceremonies of events hosted in Europe. Europe is totally under the heel of the alphabet tyrants. It's really heart rending that everything we treasure is being reduced to meaninglessness now. What will our children remember? Gay parade? Learn the meaning of "woke" before you use it in a sentence. Your existence as a black person to racists is woke talk less of how Muslims migrating to France now is seen as woke. |

Napoleon55: Racism and gayism, both are evil.
While racism is prejudice against some some races ,one claiming superiority.
But gayism or homosexualism is a violation against humanity's natural order of things and God himself,it carries greater consequences to the human society, it causes so much confusion to the human soul and spirit.
It's implications is much more deeper ,difficult to comprehend for now until this whole agenda is fully accomplished. They have been systematic and consequently will be institutionalized.
Racism will gradually be minimized with education & awareness, and by the success of the victimized. But the world won't even understand what they r doing with this woke gay agenda.
The world is better off with Trump even if he is considered lesser evil against the Democrats. Trump is more concerned about the safety and greatness of America than upholding racism. So racism is bad but homophobia is ok? Wow, for someone who says education will minimize racism, you sound much more ignorant if you think one is ok and the other is bad even republicans are getting educated on the matter talk less of you trying to justify one form of oppression and condemn the other because one benefits you and the other doesn't and the term "woke" is an AAVE that broadly used to fight all social injustice so your existence as a black person is already woke to racists because racial inequality is included. For a black person who suffers from racism, I can't believe you will support another form of oppression |

Maybe you think that I'm lumping lesbians in when I say gays? Yes, it makes you an onion-phobe and no you only find lesbians attractive because lesbians are still women and they turn you on as a straight man. Look, there's a difference between saying you are not turned on by gay men because they are still men and as a straight man, men don't turn you on than flat out saying you don't like them at all, that right there makes you an homophobe because it means you can't make friends or acquaintances with them and that's ok as long as you mind your business and they mind theirs since you are not going out of your way to harm them physically as that's extreme homophobia which is not ok I'm a gay man and I don't find women attractive, that doesn't make me a misogynist but I'm friends with them and I like them as friends of mine By your logic, you think you have to be sexually attracted to someone to like them, don't you have male friends or even female friends?
