Cmanforall: So their money will be refunded
Anyways, they have no need to stay in a country illegally, when they make more money in Nigeria.
An important question: when will the money be refunded? I'm sure it's after return. Maybe 7 working days. |

Cmanforall: I read through carefully.
It didn’t also exempt people applying outside Nigeria, once they apply using the Nigerian passport.
Many people will be affected, but not the high class Nigerians and corrupt politicians. Politicians who bought APC tickets for $100,000 would see this 15k as nothing. And they never overstay. |

goslowgoslow: Just the way you are unaccomplished right? Anybody that wants to leave can leave as long as it is done legally and the laws of the country they are fleeing to allows it. If I check properly people like you have gone to several embassies and got rejected, you people are the one praying that people should be deported because you are jealous. You've got jokes. |

Baxilexi: Now you have calm down, your business brain lobe is active. It wouldn’t be, just provide a collateral-car, house document, land. And pay 50-100$ per week to rent the bond. Still risky. |
Travel › Re: US Introduces $15,000 Visa Bond For Nigerians, by Flangelo12: 9:46pm On Jan 07 |
Baxilexi: Friend, before the end of this week, banks will begin to offer this security, with collateral.
And apply a rental, if you’d like you can set up the business, rent the bond to travelers for a weekly rate of 50 dollars. That way the bond is between your financial firm and the US embassy. The bank standing in as a guarantor.
We can respond to this wisely. I thought about that. But it is risky. The cost of the loan isn't worth it. |

Baxilexi: The thing about bylaws like this is, they fall under what psychologists call operant conditioning, it will modify the behavior of travelers. If the persons family or friends raise 5k$ to bring him/her over of course they’ll be on their relatives neck to respect the visa terms and return as and of when due.
I’m speculating here but I believe, after 2 or 3 travels without a breech in agreement there might be a pass for the bond. It would reduce travel by Nigerians to the US which is the main purpose. Imagine working for a company that wants to take you to US, are they going to pay a 15k bond on your behalf? Quite unlikely. |

Baxilexi: It’s within their rights, but sooner than later they would learn that the world is a global village. They’d need to pay for cloud services, payment system services like Mastercard, visa, mainframe, tech, medications, equipment etc and their foreign reserves will suffer because their Asian partners wouldn’t pay the western rate for their resources.
Traore is a good guy but a fool at the same time, history is replete with men like him that ended up digging themselves into a hole. Ask Khamenei of Iran. We are not discussing the consequence of his action but how US' visa policy relating to Mali has led to their own retaliation. |

I don’t believe in illegal migration. It’s better to marry a geriatric than migrate illegally with no peace of mind. You can afford it, congrats. There are many who have reasons to get to US and have no plans of overstaying. Yet they cannot afford such a bond. You don't care about them, do you? |

Baxilexi: It’s a bond, are some of the previous posters intentionally being mischievous.
I believe that this is a good initiative, because the arbitrary denials based off ‘insufficient ties back home’ will reduce and only those with genuine intentions to return will place the bond.
We are so twisted that we are offended with the US for not allowing us violate our visa agreement.
What kind of country is this? Pay the bond, visit family and friends and collect it upon return. Story. Documented migrants are being detained, thrown in cells and some tortured. In Minnesota today, ICE shot and killed a citizen. You're here making excuses for Trunp. Can you afford the bond yourself? |

Odingo1: Is not possible for them not to refund the money because it is being backed law unless if the person flaunts some immigration rules why on visit in USA. There will be clear terms and conditions. Developed countries are not like Nigeria where anything goes. Does Trump follow the law? Are documented immigrants not being tossed into prisons? If for whatever reason your bond is withheld what can you really do about it? |

WizardOfNG: Precisely. The Nigerian populace is a big disgrace. I dare Nairalanders, even semi interest in banishing ignorance so they know a scammer has been waiting them against Omokri and their own President , to put the question below to AI:
"Can you tell me the history of Mike Arnold former mayor of Blanco Texas USA?".
Or the question:
"Can you tell me the childhood history of Mike Arnold before he became mayor of Blanco Texas USA?"
Nothing at all bro. Nada before a shady 2 year history as so-called Mayor of Blanco, Texas a sleepy and backwater town with population of 1,700. The image below shows AI having zilch to say about Arnold as if he fell from the sky. A Ghost.
How is this many walking around Nigeria to cheers everywhere, insulting our President and causing chaos for Christ sake? This is why I keep banging on about the creation of a decent cadre and generation of critically intelligent and analytical human resources as part of the long term salvation and development of our nation. Human resources we have today is worrying inadequate and dangerous to itself.
Obvious Arnold simply created a new identity after his old life of crime where it was alleged he was a big time drug smuggler.
They, USA and the likes of Blanco, have settled on descending on the land of the most gullible, self-hating, destructively unpatriotic and ignorant people in Africa to use as Pawns for whatever games they are playing.
I am so ashamed of some Nigerians. We know there's a section of the citizenry that is sworn to hating on the nation, the black race and their future. We ignore them. They are irrelevant. We work as a united nation, as individuals with pride and vision. We remain aware of geopolitics, yet making our immediate society functional and livable. Determination, focus and hardwork would yield the destiny we desire. |
