Politics › Re: FG Manipulating Food Prices For Political Gains – ADC by Flangelo12: 10:59am On Oct 28, 2025
Mrchippychappy:
You do realize that fuel subsidy was because of the global oil price crisis from the 70s and not insecurity which is the cause of food scarcity in Nigeria and has now forced the FG to implement this price reduction, you don't grow oil, its always there for production, however you grow food. If at some point we don't crush this insecurity, we would have no choice but to import food. Have you seen the cost of food in countries like Norway and Switzerland that import some of their agricultural produce? Good luck subsidising the cost of food then especially when the average Nigerian earns less than 10% of what the average Norwegian or Swiss citizen earns. The only way here is to crush this terrorist and reclaim 100% of our farm lands and send the farmers back to the farms!
Who cares about the reason?

Mrchippychappy:
There's nothing wrong with it on paper, however it would take all but six months to one year to collapse entirely as it is not sustainable, that subsidised agricultural produce would have to be balanced on the other side of the balance sheet
But fuel subsidises were sustainable for 30 years?
huh

Mrchippychappy:
Bro that's not the case. Crashing food prices when you have insecurity issues that lead to the scarcity of food prices in the first place is not sustainable. What is basically happening here is that the FG are using the national reserves to balance out the actual price of the agricultural products so the sellers can at a rate that doesn't actually reflect the true cost of the product
Government shouldn't use the power of the state to bring down food prices.

They should allow it be high if they cannot improve the factors of production.

@hotseat,

While your points about external interference and the need for national unity are noted, it would be unfair and even dishonest to ignore the real internal injustices and inequities that continue to threaten Nigeria’s unity more than any so-called “foreign agenda.”

The truth is that Nigeria’s divisions are not being created by outsiders — they are being deepened from within by policies, attitudes, and actions that perpetuate systemic marginalization, particularly against Christians and the Igbo people.

Let’s be honest:

1️⃣ Political Marginalization:
Since 1999, despite being a major ethnic group, the Southeast has never produced a President or Vice President. Key national appointments are overwhelmingly tilted toward certain regions, creating a sense that others are second-class citizens in their own country.

2️⃣ Religious Bias:
Christians in Northern Nigeria live under constant threat of attacks, destruction of churches, and persecution — with little or no justice delivered. In some states, Sharia laws are institutionalized while Christians are treated as foreigners. Even in federal appointments, the imbalance between Muslims and Christians is glaring.

3️⃣ Economic Injustice:
Infrastructure in the Southeast and other Christian-dominated areas remains neglected, while oil and gas resources from the Niger Delta enrich the very regions that contribute the least. The inequity in federal allocations and project siting speaks volumes.

4️⃣ Security and Selective Justice:
When terrorists, bandits, or herdsmen kill hundreds in Christian villages, the response is slow and often muted. But when an aggrieved youth from the East protests with a flag, the full weight of the military is unleashed. The message seems clear: some lives matter more than others.

So before we talk about Ted Cruz, Moore, or “foreign conspiracies,” we must confront the domestic injustice that makes such narratives believable in the first place.

Unity cannot be demanded where equity and fairness are denied. Nigeria will not break because of Christians, Igbos, or foreign agents — it will break if those in power continue to treat justice, inclusivity, and equality as optional.

No one truly wants Nigeria to break up — people simply want a Nigeria that works for all Nigerians, not one where some are perpetually on their knees while others sit on the throne.

Until we face that truth, the cry of “unity” will remain hollow.

He was close friends with the most prolific paedophile in recorded history.

He once said when young girls (including minors) were in his paegent, he would go into their dressing rooms whilst they are changing to inspect them.

Whilst his wife was pregnant he had liasons with a IndecentStar.

He has bombed many small boats in Venezuela, killing innocent fishermen onboard.

He has said he would kill them "dead".

His atrocities are too many to mention.

If that's not a demon, demons don't exist.

I am a Nigerian of the Yoruba descent myself, and I believe that something that is wrong should be openly condemned by all Nigerians.
You mean just because he bears a Nigerian name yet probably has only spent a total of 2 months put together in his entire life in Nigeria, we should take some blame for it?

Apart from his name what proof do we have that he's Nigerian?

In fact, he could be British of Benin or Togo descent.
