jmoore:
Another propaganda of chasing shadows.

Crypto companies were never responsible for naira depreciation at any point.

Tinubu/Cardoso trial and error economics were responsible for it. When they realized that Nigeria was going down with their voodoo policies, they retraced their steps.

They are responsible dont let them decieve you, this are greedy set of people who set whatever price they want without any regulation or monitoring and since the majority of the buyers are either trying to hide money or fraudulent, they have no choice than to buy it

Because the gas people are owed nearly 2 trillion naira by the power companies, and they are tired of selling on credit.

Also, we need to get an extra 10000 MW before we can assure every Nigerian on the grid now gets light.
Power will be almost stable if they can maintain the available 7000MW, last year August through December was a good example
Even if we built 100,000MW plant, these people won’t buy gas to power it.They just prefer to exploit people
Only hydro power can really power Nigeria because our capitalists are criminal minded

We all know Tinubu has a penchant for disregarding compitent courts of records in the country
It has nothing to do with Tinubu Abure is very corrupt and should step aside.

Dangote companies are being operated by mostly Indians so i don’t think it’s really a Nigerian friendly company, diesel importation should continue and there should be a competition otherwise it will turn out like cement where just 2 companies are ripping the country.ONE thing is certain, inflation will not stop till there is a decrease in the fuel price or stable electricity even if dollar keep dropping

USDT is the same as US dollar as it’s back up by real life dollar in ratio 1-1 so this post is very wrong
i:e Tether must deposit dollar equivalent before it can print any USDT. So in actual sense you will still get your money if anything should happen to usdt.
Do kwon stable currency can not be compared to usdt because it wasn’t back by real life dollar but LUNA anyway this poster need to mention me so I can enlighten him and I am ready to give him 50,000 naira if he can win this argument

Its very obvious they don’t know what they are doing, this problem can easily be solved within 2 minutes,Emefiele is bad but we have to go back to his policy of pegging dollar for importation and price will drop immediately.
That is the only solution,I expect Nigeria to become Venezuela in the next 6 months if dollar is not pegged

Simple, cost of production, cost of doing business, cost of even staff salaries

LIke someone has already explained here, fuel costs have shot up well well since. Especially since diesel was deregulated a long time ago. Dangote trucks and machinery run on diesel. Add the cost of equipment and machinery, and you get the picture. Add the fact that workers salaries have to be increased at some point...

Naira devaluation too obviously knocked things down badly. Especially now since our forex is at an all time low, meaning Nigeria cannot defend naira unless we borrow to do so...which is not a viable option.
The price increment isn’t from factory,it’s from distributors and dealers.

Corruption and dead policies. Come to think of it. Cement raw material is usually 90% locally sourced. The only chemical needed to always make it dry quickly is the only foreign material and most of them such as Lafarge and Bua hardly uses it.

Why is cement price high? They should just come up with the excuse. Is it the diesel? How many percentage increment do we have on diesel and what should be the average increment on the price? Nigeria is like a dunghill. You can throw in anything and people will swallow it sinker. Likewise some idiots already supporting Dangote to sell at par with the international market. I wonder when production cost in poor countries became at par with developed countries? Nigeria just a dunghill
The price increase has nothing to do with corruption,it’s simply because of demand higher than supply, dealers are now selling their cement to neighboring countries to make double profit because of weak Naira something that is not a crime till government make it a crime

Business / Re: Why Exactly Is The Cement Price Going Up This Way? by Flier: 11:26am On Feb 17
Dealer are exporting it to neighboring countries because their currency is stronger than our own at the moment so they are making a lot on each bag of cement, that leads to demand higher than supply in Nigeria hence the price increase
The same is happening to food at the moment, northerners are selling to neighboring countries
Exchange rate need to go down otherwise neighboring countries will start raiding Nigeria to get cheap products there by creating scarcity and price increase in Nigeria

Nothing can stop it except naira is re-peg to less than 1000 to a dollar,we will probably end up like Venezuela in the next 6 months
Nothing is sustainable at the moment,we are shouting no light no light how can they use expensive gas to power plants ? We are in big trouble
Subsidies will get to a point where government won’t be able to afford it.there is going to be a revolt and military will take over and Nigeria may disintegrate.
To avoid this is simple,re-peg naira before it get out of hand
