Politics / President Buhari Last Words Before Leaving For London by flowalk(m): 12:35pm On Jun 10, 2016 |
President Muhammadu Buhari was last seen on June 6, Monday, when he departed Abuja for his ten-day vacation in London. He was seen off by personal staff, ministers and military officials. president Muhammadu Buhari was last seen on June 6,Monday, when he departed Abuja for his ten-day vacation in London. He was seen off bypersonal staff, ministers and military officials. The author of The Nation in this piece supposes what President Buhari discussed with his Chief of Staff Abba Kyari at the last moments before the departure. President Buhari departed for London on a 10-day vacation The ceremony was brief at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The jet was humming, waiting for the President. He shook hands with a line of aides who had lined up for the brief farewell. All smiles, they wished him a safe flight. But, President Muhammadu Buhari’s handshake with his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, was some minutes longer. He held Kyari’s hand firmly, pointing his left forefinger. Kyari, his head bent, was all ears. He refrained from looking at his boss eyeball to eyeball. The discussion – instruction seems to be more appropriate – must have been important. It was a privileged as usual, aptly concealed from the prime eyes of other officials and, of course, the media. But, what was the Commander-In-Chief telling the Chief of Staff? What to do at the next Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting? Or was he reminding him about a certain file? How to respond to certain critical issues? What should wait till he returns? An urgent errand? A correspondence to attend to? Or something he forgot to do that should be done urgently? In Africa, heads of government can only sleep with one eye open— no thanks to the sheer weight of the highest office or the suspicion that characterises the polity. The President may have travelled abroad on a 10-day vacation during which he will seek a solution to a nagging ear infection, his mind will surely be at work, resisting the strong pull of home front. President Buhari will still be consulted by his aides on emergency matters for which he is expected to issue directives, despite being on vacation. The problems are formidable, no doubt. Avengers on the prowl in the troubled Niger Delta, the herdsmen onslaught, the troubled economy, the rising cost of living, the workers’ strike in many states, Boko Haram and the “rebellion” by an insider on the borrowed platform of restructuring. But, there is no cause for alarm – or so it seems. The Chief of Staff, in the second picture taken during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, appears to be the janitor and monitor. What was he telling Vice President – no, an error there – Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, who presided? This is the way to go? This is what the President said we should do? Instructively, Kyari is pointing his right forefinger, apparently for emphasis. The Vice President is listening, his neck bent to soak it in fully. Raising the forefinger can be a warning, especially when it is wagged up and down at somebody, who may not necessarily be the subject of the admonition. It can also be an action to merely emphasise a point during a discussion. Besides, it can be deployed in pointing at an object of interest or to indicate an item. What is President Buhari saying here? Over to all those who claim to have an understanding of His Excellency’s body language. source:http://flowwalk./ for more stories

Science/Technology / Secret Jeep Engine Revealed by flowalk(m): 9:05am On May 20, 2016 |
Reports that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be offered with a 2.0-liter four- cylinder turbocharged engine have been given a boost. Flowwalk. has posted photos of a prototype Wrangler with its hood open that appear to show a motor equipped with a turbo and its associated intake system. An inside source recently told Automotive News that the new engine is nicknamed “Hurricane” and will put out around 300 hp. It’s widely expected to be sold alongside V6, diesel and possibly hybrid versions of the Wrangler, while an eight-speed automatic transmission is also in the cards. What do you think? Click here for more images of the Wrangler engine flowwalk. tells Fox News that the Wrangler was spotted while it was parked on the side of a public road. Many more images of camouflaged next-generation Wranglers being driven around have been popping up over the past few weeks. The all-new truck appears to hew closely to the current formula, with a body on frame and live axles front and rear, but with a slightly sleeker design for improved aerodynamics. Chrysler executives have hinted at the increased use of aluminum in its construction, but nothing has been confirmed. There’s also no word on when it will be officially revealed, but it will most likely debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show in January, with sales following later in the year. University lecturers under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU), Benin zone, have threatened to embark on industrial action over shortfall in university allocation. Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, during a rally/protest to sensitize students and the public on the plight of academic staff in the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos. The lecturers accused the Federal Government of stoking the embers of crisis when the university system was yet to fully recover from the damaging effects of a prolonged strike in 2013. The union said it was an unfortunate and sad development that the federal government was contributing to the threat to peace in the Nigerian university system by not sending enough money to pay salaries. Crime / Hunger Warning In North Korea: Un by flowalk(m): 12:44pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
UN warns of worsening hunger in North Korea Workers stand near a field in Songchon County, in North Korea. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has warned against worsening hunger in North Korea as the country has hit a record low in food production since 2010 due to poor rainfall. According to a statement by FAO, North Korea produced about 5.4 million tons of food, including cereals, soybeans and potatoes in 2015, down from 5.9 million tons it produced in 2014. The country is facing a shortage of 394,000 tons of cereal, the biggest gap since 2011-2012, the statement added. “Given the tight food supplies in 2015/16, the country’s food security situation is expected to deteriorate from the previous year when most households were already estimated to have poor or borderline food consumption levels,” the agency said. In May 2015, the United Nations had warned of a looming food crisis in North Korea due to drought, which the country’s official media described as the worst in 100 years. Poor rainfall and low availability of water for irrigation caused the production of paddy rice, the country’s main staple, to drop by 25 percent to 1.9 million tons, FAO said. North Korea has suffered regular chronic food shortages. UN figures show that over 70 percent of North Koreans are food insecure and 28 percent of children under the age of five have suffered stunted growth due to malnutrition. The country has come under the most crippling sanctions by the UN and the West recently over its nuclear missile tests. On Thursday, South Korea claimed that North Korea had fired what appeared to have been an intermediate range ballistic missile but it crashed seconds after the test launch. Foreign Affairs / Us Double Standards May Lead To New World War: Iran by flowalk(m): 5:40pm On Apr 27, 2016 |
Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan delivers a speech at the 5th Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS) in the Russian capital, April 27, 2016. Iran's defense minister has censured the United States for adopting a double- standard policy in defending its interests, saying such a policy may finally lead to a new world war. Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan made the remarks at the 5th Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS) in the Russian capital on Wednesday. For the sake of safeguarding its own interests, Washington is employing “double, multiple standards on the main issues associated with the disruption of safety and stability,” Dehqan said, adding, “They use proxy wars, and they impose a heavy cost on the stage to wage the wars. We see a repeat of the situation and there could be a potential new world war taking place.” The Iranian minister also warned that only a "realistic" and "responsible" approach to the conflicts gripping the Middle East could prevent a potential new world war. He further condemned the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel for propping up terrorist groups “under the disguise of humanitarian aid, under [the excuse of] establishing a cessation of hostilities”. Science/Technology / Google Wins Copyright Battle Over Books by flowalk(m): 9:51pm On Apr 18, 2016 |
The US Supreme Court has ruled in favour of Google in its 11-year legal battle with an authors group. The Court said it would not hear an appeal from the Authors Guild, which claimed Google breached copyright laws by scanning books without permission. The technology giant began the process in 2004, so it could include extracts in a searchable database, and it was sued by the Authors Guild in 2005. The Supreme Court’s judgement is the final ruling on the matter. Fair use Google’s database of books lets people search through millions of titles and read passages and selected pages from them. While some of the books in the database are old titles that are no longer protected by copyright, millions are more recent publications. The Authors Guild had argued that the project undermined authors’ ability to make money from their work. Google said its database was a “fair use” of protected works, describing it as “a card catalogue for the digital age”. The firm could have faced billions of dollars in damages claims from authors if it had lost the case. The Authors Guild said it was “disappointed” that the Supreme Court would not hear its appeal. The organisation’s president Roxana Robinson said: “We believed then and we..... continue @https://flowwalk./2016/04/18/google-wins-copyright-battle-over-books/ |
Celebrities / Pope To Church: Accept Gays, Divorced Catholics * by flowalk(m): 5:57pm On Apr 08, 2016 |
Pope Francis put his shoulder to the doors of the Catholic Church and shoved them open a little wider Friday, calling for the church to be more tolerant in practice while not changing any official doctrines. He urged priests around the world to be more accepting of gays and lesbians, divorced Catholics and other people living in what the church considers “irregular” situations. “A pastor cannot feel that it is enough simply to apply moral laws … as if they were stones to throw at people’s lives,” Francis writes in a sweeping paper outlining his stance on family matters. He urges more common sense and less unthinking following of rules. “By thinking that everything is black and white, we sometimes close off the way of grace and growth,” he writes. He emphasizes that “unjust discrimination” against gays and lesbians is unacceptable, downplays the idea of “living in sin” and suggests that priests should use their own discretion on whether divorced Catholics in new marriages can take Communion. Path of Jesus The paper has much to please both liberals and conservatives, though it is unlikely to go far enough for either group within the church. “I understand those who prefer a more rigorous pastoral care which leaves no room for confusion. But I sincerely believe that Jesus wants...... See complete post and photos @ https://flowwalk./2016/04/08/pope-to-church-accept-gays-divorced-catholics/

Sports / Wenger Admits Arsenal Can Learn From Leicester Fairytale by flowalk(m): 11:23am On Apr 08, 2016 |
Wenger admits Arsenal can learn from Leicester fairytale Arsenal's French coach Arsene Wenger gives a press conference at the the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona on March 15, 2016, on the eve of the Round 16 of the UEFA Champions League football match between FC Barcelona and Arsenal FC. / AFP / JOSEP LAGO Arsene Wenger insists he has not given up on Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge but admits there are lessons to be learnt from Leicester’s dominance at the top of the table.Wenger’s third-placed side, who lie 11 points adrift of the leaders, head to West Ham on Saturday where they will seek the third successive victory they need to keep their slender hopes of becoming champions alive. Consecutive wins against Everton and Watford have raised hopes they could yet end a frustrating season on a high but Wenger is realistic enough to know Arsenal’s main priority is to ensure they do not get dragged back towards those clubs – including West Ham – currently on the fringe of the top four. And if, as expected, Wenger is forced to contemplate another failed bid to deliver the title to the Emirates Stadium for the first time since 2004, the manager will point to Leicester’s recruitment strategy as the key to the leaders’ unexpected success. “What we learn from Leicester City is what I knew for a long time, which is that it’s not just only down to the amount of money you spend,” Wenger said. “It’s down to the quality of players you bring in and sometimes the opportunities are not always necessarily linked with the amount of money. “If you look well, they finished very strongly last season and on top of that they brought some players in who have given them something more, like N’Golo Kante. He had a huge impact.” With games running out, Wenger acknowledges Arsenal need to win virtually all their remaining matches to have any chance of a stunning title triumph. – Raised eyebrows – “We know that we need nearly the perfect run and we know as well that we don’t look only in front of us, we look behind us as well,” he added. “We are chased by a group of teams who can make it very difficult for us so we have just to focus on our performance and hope we finish in a very strong way. “As long as it’s mathematically possible, there’s a strong possibility we can catch Leicester. “You look at the difficulty of the Premier League and they have been very consistent but every game is very, very tight. That can go the other way.” Aaron Ramsey could return to the squad but Wenger is unlikely to change the starting line-up that has delivered successive wins. West Ham won at Arsenal on the opening day of the season, a result that raised eyebrows at the time. The Hammers’ form since then, however, has demonstrated that performance was no one off and while last weekend’s home draw with Crystal Palace dented their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, boss Slaven Bilic and his players have not given up on reaching the top four. “We are both fighting for a place in Europe and from their point of view, they’re trying to be champions,” Bilic said. “They admitted that they must win all their remaining games, so it’s a big game with a lot at stake.” The game marks the start of a defining eight days in West Ham’s season with the FA Cup quarter-final replay with Manchester United on April 13 followed by a trip to Leicester next Sunday. “We play Arsenal, then have a cup replay against Manchester United, then go to Leicester,” Bilic said. “But we are approaching the Arsenal game and then we have three days to recover and think about Manchester United. We are going to put the best team out that we can on Saturday.” see photo and more stories @ https://flowwalk./2016/04/08/wenger-admits-arsenal-can-learn-from-leicester-fairytale/ |

Ansaru is a splinter group of Boko Haram. “Security agents made a breakthrough on Friday in the fight against terrorism by arresting Khalid al-Barnawi, the leader of Ansaru terrorist group in Lokoja,” Defence Headquarters spokesman Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar said on Sunday. “He is among those on the top of the list of our wanted terrorists,” Khalid al-Barnawi is one of three Nigerian terrorists listed by the United States government in 2012 as “specially designated global terrorists”. The other two are Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and Ansaru founder Abubakar Adam Kambar. “He is among those on top of the list of our wanted terrorists,” Abubakar added. Barnawi, 47, whose real name is Usman Umar Abubakar, hailed from Biu town in restive northeast Borno state. He became the leader of Ansaru following the death of Kambar in a military raid on his hideout in Kano in March 2012. The group claimed a 2012 attack on a maximum security facility in Abuja where detained Islamists were being held, killing two policemen and freeing 40 inmates. With the emergence of Ansaru, Barnawi’s faction became independent of Boko Haram but still maintained ties. The group also claimed responsibility for the kidnap of a French engineer, Francis Collomp, in northern Katsina state in 2012. He later escaped. The group said it was responsible for a 2013 attack on a convoy of Mali-bound Nigerian troops in Kogi state, killing two soldiers and seriously wounding five others. It issued a statement condemning Nigeria’s participation in the “war against the Islamic state of northern Mali”. Source : http://www.flowwwalk.

(AFP photo) US Republican presidential candidate has refused to rule out using a nuclear weapon in Europe, saying he will not “take any cards off the table.” In an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Trump argued that if the United States was not willing to use an atomic bomb, then “why are we making them?” “I would be very, very slow to pull that trigger,” the celebrity businessman said. “[But] if someone hits us with a nuke, you wouldn’t fight back with a nuke?” “First of all, you don’t want to say take everything off the table because you would be a bad negotiator if you do that,” Trump noted. When asked whether he could assure the Middle East that the US will not use nuclear weapons, Trump answered, “I would never say that. I would never take any of my cards off the table.” The Republican frontrunner was then asked the same question about Europe. “I’m not going to take it off the table for anybody,” Trump stressed. Trump’s campaign has been marked by controversy from the beginning, with disparaging remarks about immigrants, Muslims and women. Foreign Affairs / Iran Denies Us Banking Cyber Attack by flowalk(m): 11:32am On Mar 26, 2016 |
Iran on Saturday denied supporting cyber attacks against the United States after a New York court indicted seven Iranians over hacking dozens of American banks and a major dam. “The Islamic Republic of Iran has never had dangerous cyber actions on its agenda and does not support such measures,” Hossein Jaber Ansari, the spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The United States on Thursday announced computer hacking charges against seven Iranians who it said worked for firms linked to the Iranian government, accusing them of infiltrating nearly 50 banks and financial institutions, as well as a major New York dam. The announcement comes after a nuclear agreement last year between Iran, the United States and five other major powers raised hopes for better relations between Tehran and Washington. Foreign Affairs / Is Trump Already The Winner Of 2016 Election??? by flowalk(m): 12:45pm On Mar 21, 2016 |
“Trump-ism is already the 2016 winner
and now – except for white men – a
perpetually hostile and dangerous
environment has become even more
actively predatory,” says American writer
Mickey Z.
Democratic presidential contender Bernie
Sanders’ comments are too little and
maybe
too late as Republican frontrunner Donald
Trump’s rise overshadows politics-as-
usual
in the US, an American writer and political
activist says.
Mickey Z., the author of Occupy This
Book and Occupy These Photos made the
remarks in an interview with Press TV on
Sunday, a day after Sanders visited the US-
Mexico border and condemned Trump for
making controversial remarks against
Mexican immigrants.
“While I’m not a supporter of any major
party candidate, I will admit Bernie
Sanders
expressed a crucial sentiment at a recent
campaign stop in Arizona when he stated:
‘As I have traveled around this country
and
talked to immigrant families, and
particularly Latino immigrant families, I
am
struck by the fear and sadness that grips
so
many of them,’” said Mickey Z.
“Meanwhile, in Utah, Donald Trump was
declaring: ‘We have become a third world
country, folks!’ He went on to add: ‘We are
sitting on a big fat ugly bubble. At some
point unless we act quickly and smartly, it
is
going to explode. You need the right
people. We have the wrong people now,’”
he added.
“Where have we heard all this before? A
nation in economic decline and on the
brink of social collapse. Racial
scapegoating.
Choosing between the ‘right’ and the
‘wrong’ people,” he continued.
“Of course, Sanders didn’t go far enough
in
his recent condemnation of all this. He
and
all non-Trump candidates will ultimately
continue with the propaganda-obscured
status quo. The system is irreversibly
rigged; the change and ‘revolution’ we
need won’t happen by following its rules;
and the usual suspects offer nothing new
except a few campaign promises,” the
analyst observed.
“However, there’s something more urgent
and ominous to consider this time
around.
Trump-ism is already the 2016 winner
and
now – except for white men – a
perpetually
hostile and dangerous environment has
become even more actively predatory. It
has
re-emboldened racists and white
supremacists all across the country,” he
pointed out.
“To view this phenomenon as some form
of
low brow entertainment spectacle is to
expose one’s lack of historical context. For
some Americans to flippantly talk of
moving
to Canada is a betrayal to all those without
the resources to leave or fight back or
earn
justice. To trot out the classic ‘it can’t
happen here’ is to ignore that it’s already
happened here many times and, in some
cases, never stopped happening. Ignore it
at own peril,” the activist concluded.
Trump, who has never held elected office,
is
leading the race despite the fact that his
campaign has been marked by
controversial statements, including
disparaging remarks about women,
Mexican immigrants and Muslims.
Trump says he would deport 11 million
undocumented workers from the United
States and would establish a “deportation
force” for this purpose.
He has also promised to expel
undocumented immigrants and build a
wall
on the US-Mexico border. In addition, he
has proposed repealing the constitutional
right to citizenship of anyone born on US
soil.
Over the past several days, Trump’s rallies
have descended into violence between
supporters and protesters, and have
become heavily secured events teeming
with dozens and in some cases hundreds
of police. Source:https:// flowwalk./2016/03/21/ is-trump-already…of-2016-election/ |

I don't know if this issue disturbs anyone else but me am highly angry with what our facebook friends are doing now. Read my reason why i named my category. My problem starts with those who are on facebook groups especially those who are the admins of most populated groups, many of them there daily post per daily is about 1000 comments and likes, some are bloggers, some are not but, what annoys me the most is that when you post on their groups they 'll just delete it, having no care how other feel when there post are being deleted. The worst is that they are too stingy to allow others post on their group but themselves which is all wrong, I know they all worked hard to gain all those people following their groups, but if someone did not allow them to post on his group, they wouldn't have been able to gain so much followers. To cut the story short, it is not nice to see your post being deleted because we all have different emotion on how we are being treated..... To contact me on facebook @manasse earl or if you want to join my gruop so that we could discuss about such stinginess of other facebookers join @iwriter sorry for posting here cause i don't know where else to post this.
