Kobojunkie: The gullibility of the average Nigerian to the workings of its own government continues to astound.🤔
Name one sector of Government in the last 25 years that at one point or another had a clean record as far as corruption is concerned and at what point in time was this? Tinubu is a failure that appointed a failure team...take it or leave it |

Kobojunkie: And how the money is used. Nigeria is currently INCAPABLE Of using money EFFICIENTLY and EFFECTIVELY for its own good and development. This problem has been building for over 25 years now and is at a point where over 90% of funds that go into the system disappear almost immediately after it is disbursed. So, what good could come from borrowing into that same system if not more of the same? so u think everyone will use the borrowed money or loot the borrowed money same was as Tinubu then u are dumb |

richiemcgold: .. 🤔 Buhari borrowed and we condemned him for that.
Tinubu is currently borrowing and we're also condemning him for it.
.. now Obi says he too would've borrowed.
This simply means that Nigeria is a VERY POOR COUNTRY (although the country is massively endowed with valuable resources). are you aware Germany, US, china are in debt also? it is what u used the borrowed money for that is important |

nairalanda1: Cutting expensive lifestyle won't have provided enough funding for subsides
It cost the government 160 billion naira to buy cars for national assembly. Subsidy costs for the first six months of the year 2023 were around 6 trillion naira cutting of lifestyle will help in different areas...Obi don't kind flying commercial than buying jet now. Jagaban can never be Obi in terms of managing this economy. ask urself why he lost Lagos his own land |
Politics › Re: ‘How Do We Survive?’ - Nigerians Lament Fresh Fuel Price Hike by flyinnizam(m): 4:03pm On Oct 09, 2024 |
the difference is Obi will cut expensive lifestyle simple nairalanda1: Peter Obi was the best candidate, no be lie, but let's be honest, under Obi, we would have had the same result.
By May 2023, the results of decades of borrowing to pay for subsides since the late 1970's was in, and we had a lot of debt from maintaining subsides, which, among other things, was contributing to debt eating 99% of our government revenue.
At the end, and please let's put politics aside, APC, PDP, LP and company, Igbo and Yoruba aside......how are you going to pay for subsides with debt servicing eating 90% of our revenue? Is it by miracle, or by more loans while we wait for the results of good policies.?
Whoever took over, we were in dire straits. Either subsides were removed, or we got into taking more loans...to the point where debt would be eating something like 150% of our revenue. Then we go see shege...real shege.
The annoying thing about this APC government is that they are still doing the same old looting, and same old sharing money, but vote in Obi, and nothing could be done....and even if he raised prices to N400 , it would just be what Buhari was doing all this time ....which worsened the debt situation in the first place...among other causes.
I effing hate to sound like I am defending this government, and lord knows I don't like being called an APC supporter, when I have not voted for either big parties since I started voting., and when I have been suspicious of tinubu since 2005 (when Gani raised questions about his certificate back then)....but in 2023, may... this is what was happening.
debt service was eating 90% of our revenue Subsidy funding was going to run out by June ending...no matter what tinubu did...and the only way to get subsidy back was by either taking more loans, or removing it to get more extra money, and then using some of that to fund subsidy.
And even now the subsidy that tinubu brught back is causing us more issues...debt has risen again.
What magic would you perform to keep fuel below N200 Per liter, without taking loans and suchlike.?
AM sure you would call me agbado.......but we were in a shitty situation, and it was godawful. Make no mistake, vote Obi, vote Kwankwaso....it would have produced the same result re oil prices.
Yes, I am angry with APC, and they are useless.....but politcs aside, unless you have a pot filled with 130 trillion naira....no way we were going to keep fuel prices low.
The problem with Nigeria is that we keep making the same mistakes over and over again, whoever is in charge , because we don't want to do the right thing, and we don't want to end corruption. |

Politics › Re: Seun, Why Allow BOTS Take Over This Forum? by flyinnizam(m): 3:03pm On Oct 08, 2024 |
add yyba. I don't know who gave birth to that one phantom: Seun, when I joined nairaland on the 27th of September 2005, a few months after you started it, my hope with a few others like Jakumo who joined on the same day that I did was that we had finally found a truly national or Nigerian forum where people of like minds regardless of tribe could come together and interact.
At that time, the quality of posters was top notch! We had really cerebral folks one was excited to engage with. Even our tribal disagreements then were based on reason, facts and objectivity. Very little emotion.
We had folks like dayokanu, jakumo, ibime, kobojunkie,Gettysburg,Bawomolo, texazpette, romeo etc... with other folks like afam4eva, naptu2 coming later... those days were fun!
Our conversations were real, rugged and raw... with intelligent takes flying all over the place.
Fast foward almost 20 years later, and things have changed.. nairaland has become a sorry sight with all sorts of bots, dregs, vermin, tribalistic and partisan lowlives swimming all over the place like maggots on a plate of spoiled beans.
The place has sadly become a cesspool. And this has led to the exit of many of this platforms brightest and sharpest minds.
Is it because of this dearth of solid members that you have allowed the use of bots to create a semblance of intelligent activity?
Some of us here had previously complained about bots like Chinkoalhaji and others , which you promptly dealt with OR SO WE THOUGHT because it appears there's a new squad of bots that have been unleashed OR did you simply change the name of the old bots?
For many of us "savvy" members, its easy to spot these bots. For many others , they simply cannot. One member simply referred to a comment from one of these bots as sarcasm as it was obvious the comment didn't make sense in response to the thread topic.
It is annoying, irritating and frankly disrespectful for real humans to engage with bots thinking they are doing so with humans. It's fraudulent and also has serious security implications for members and for you as the site owner if something goes horribly wrong as to affect human life stemming from such engagements.
The bots identified include BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO
1.trutharena 2.tundegan 3.Shadomaan7 4. Salewa97 5.Anither563
I believe there are still others that are a bit more subtle but we will identify them.
Seun, please do the needful and get rid of these bots. It doesn't speak well of this platform at all that one comes on here to engage only to do so with a computer code programmed to leave comments with fake likes.
Cheers! |
