basilo101: these are heavily edited pictures, they are not even picitures of ibadan, cocoa house is ibadan's city center, any aerial pic which cocoa house cant be seen is fake. This is ibadan. compare with onitsha and awka It seems you people just can't help dragging me back to this thread, as much as I prefer to stay away. But I think I have a lil' bit of time on my hands for y'all. . Did you just say "any aerial pic which cocoa house cant be seen is fake"? ? Like seriously? ? And what if I'm taking pix from a different angle? Do some of you reason out of your anus or something? Cocoa house is located in the Ibadan CBD, which is but a minute part of the entire city (a city almost as big as Anambra state). You sound extremely daft, I'm sorry. The photoshopped aerial views you showed of onitsha and awka obviously left out the filthy and dirty parts of them, why's that? Was that deliberate, or was it that your high res camera's angles just aren't wide enough. I won't even bother showing pictures of Dirty Anambra here coz aba goro has already taken care of that bit on your other dedicated threads . But I do know y'all are just mad coz those buildings I pasted back there blows away anything y'all have in the SE. Besides that, y'all have nothing close to the BirdsEye views I've presented of Ibadan thus far. Like for real, y'all need help coz you're sick as fvck.

Sorry I found out that the said picture doesn't exist...
Proof This is the picture before you added... Ibadan bird view on it...
Who you dey deceive... Like seriously, are you this stewpi.d? I added the 'Ibadan birdseye' for EMPHASIS, duh!? How else would the average person have been able to place the location if I hadn't done that? Obviously you're shocked at the vastness of Ibadan as a city. Since you insist it's Lagos then pray tell where in Lagos? Dude, I'm seriously not in the mood to funk up this thread coz a part of me does acknowledge Obiano's strides, but nigga don't test me. Stay the fvck off my mention from hereon. For the last time. Thanx. |

You are so jobless that you post with one handle and use your other handles to like that post, all for what? Look, you people are free to celebrate Awka by showing the flattering parts of the city. No problem. But bear in mind that some of us have also seen some of the ..well.. not so flattering parts of the same Awka, as can be said for any other state in Nigeria. It is not my intention to derail this thread so I'll stop here. You can switch back to your other moniker now. "Ekafine"

…accused of awarding contracts to his companies
By Soni Daniel, Regional Editor, North
The Director-General of the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration And Control, NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhi, has been summoned by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations bordering on abuse of office.
Dr. Orhi is currently being questioned by a crack team of detectives for allegedly awarding huge contracts to companies in which he has interests.
An EFCC top source confirmed to Vanguard that the DG, who arrived the commission’s headquarters around 10am Monday had been making useful statement to its agents.
The source said: “It is true that the NAFDAC head was summoned by us and he is currently being quizzed in relation to allegations that he has been awarding contracts running into millions of Naira to companies close to him.
Asked if the man would be released today on self recognition, the source said he had no idea but that doing so might depend on whether the operatives were satisfied with his answers to issues raised against him.

No surprises here. Truth is, there are certain line of businesses that require huge financing that can only be sourced either via loans or venture capital -- besides, sometimes loans may be required for needed expansions. The only problem here is the borrowers' failure to pay. Obtaining loan facilities isn't a crime, na failure to pay no good. That's why I sometimes prefer FDIs from foreigners (who come in with the needed cash/finance) coz our local investors often times end up borrowing so much money to setup big business, loans they end up defaulting on. |

edogirl2: I see a lot of kids getting into meaningless arguments with Easterners about oil in Lagos, oil in Ondo state, bla bla.
The oil in Ondo cannot support the SW economy from Badagry in Lagos to Ifon in Ondo state.
Manufacturing will play a key role in driving SW regional economy. For that it will be Lagos and Ogun, and to a lower level, Oyo.
Just an example, Dangote's refinery in Lagos will employ thousands of people directly, most of whom will earn over 100k per month. The multiplier effect on the Lagos economy will be huge.
The SW can attract big investments because t is relatively peaceful. Now, we just need to go back to prioritising education. You absolutely correct. Dangote is also building a refinery in Ondo as well, which he claims will generate 10,000 direct jobs in the state ( http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/dangote-refinery-to-begin-operation-2018/). Now that's A LOT of jobs right there. Am glad though that the country is beginning to shift from a mono-economy dependent majorly on Oil and is now taking the non-oil sector and its potential more seriously. And I also agree with you on education, though I believe we are already on the right track in that respect. Education is the key to a secure future. |

Ogun State Government To Focus On Solid Mineral Development
The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed the readiness of his administration to provide the much needed political will in developing the solid mineral sector of the state for socioeconomic development, especially in the face of the dwindling revenue from oil.
He made the promise in Abeokuta, the state capital, at the opening ceremony of a two-day Geological Week of the State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, held at the Oba’s Complex in the State Capital.
The Governor said that resolutions reached at the occasion would form the road map for the development of the sector which seems to have been neglected by succeeding administrations in the State.
He then challenged experts and participants to come out with workable recommendations that would form the road map for the development of the sector.
One of the participants and also a lecturer in the University of Ibadan, Olugbenga Okunola, stated that papers were being presented by resource persons in the areas of petroleum and hydrocarbon potential of Ogun State, and effective solid mineral development with emphasis on favourable government policies, favourable mining laws and security among others.
The Ogun State commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bimbo Ashiru, also added that Ogun State’s abundance of mineral resources, which remained untapped, hold the key to its economic development, especially in the face of the dwindling prices of crude in the international market.
It is, however, believed that while Government is looking into the solid mineral sector, activities of players would be adequately checked to safeguard the environment from further degradation.
