Inception: I am already seeing trouble...
The ship was scheduled to berth at cotonue by 12 today. Instead it stopped moving a few miles short of the port. I sincerely hope it is not quarantine issues again. Most of this vessel don't have issues with Cotonou port, so let's believe her behind scheduled arrival is norms. Where my fear lies is Lagos Port. |

upengineer: Update on Hoegh Singapore from my shipper
Dear Valued Customers
See below message from Grimaldi Lines:
We are fully aware of recent difficulties to timely discharge / release cargo in Lagos and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Due to pandemic and emergency period, several of our ships since end March have been obliged to observe 14 days quarantine outside Lagos before berthing. Despite these restrictions have now been waived by Nigerian Authorities, some ships have lost their priority in the queue and still waiting for free berth.
The overall picture has further deteriorated this week due to Nigerian Customs IT issues In the Port of Lagos with and consequent impossibility to resume with normal cargo releasing activity. Unfortunately all this, despite we are permanently in contact with local Authorities to boast the quickest return to standard, is totally beyond Grimaldi control and management .
This is affecting...
• HOEGH SIGNAPORE 0220 (HSI0220): as of today ETA = 05/25/2020
• PRECIOUS ACE 0120 (PRA0120): as of today ETA = 05/16/2020
• LAPIS ARROW 0420 (LAA0420): *** see below...
We wish to also advise that Grimaldi have worked incessantly and all disposal been taken to make sure that everything is back to standard in the shortest terms . On such basis we are very confident that within the next 2 weeks all vessels still waiting for free berth should be able to normally operate. On the other hand we wish to advise that Grimaldi are obviously sympathizing with Nigerian receivers who in view of the lockdown imposed by Authorities to fight Covid-19 , have been struggling to get to the Port and get their cargo released. We are therefore glad to announce that extraordinary measures will be taken in account to assist receivers , waiving big portions of storage accrued etc . We will revert shortly with additional details.
LAPIS ARROW 0420 (LAA0420) ** Grimaldi has discharged all cargo in Cotonou and will advise vessel details that will load this cargo and ship to Lagos. We will send updates as we receive them. Thank you for this update it has also reconfirm Precious Ace 16th May berthing |

chukel: Grimaldi has been doing a lot of transloading of recent. These small vessels they don't own usually stops at cotonou. They offload all vehicles there at the mercy of cotonou rats. They wait for their bigger vessels like Grande congo to berth at cotonou and pick up the cars to deliver to Nigeria. Your vehicles will eventually come in with grand guinea. Same thing is happening to lapis arrow Thank you for this information. But I don't think this is the case with this vessel. Vessel has been anchored in Lagos for a long time, don't know why she has not berth.

woodrow: You have made 2 very good choices . All the Peugeot I have ever owned have always been manual.from 504 to 405 then to the 306,so I can't say anything about the automatic transmission.I like the fact that you said you want to keep the car for long.its quite impressive.if you get a very good Peugeot car,u definitely would enjoy it for as long as u want.
I have never owned a Honda Accord, but I have read about how it served someone on nairaland who is still attached to it till date.let me invite Fogman to narrate his wonderful experience about the Honda Accord.
Whenever you seek advice about a car,try weigh opinion from people who have actually owned, maintained and used the car in question and not from people who just heard about the car from beer parlor talks. Thank you for the mention. Op, Honda Accord DC is a very sweet car, if you can afford to pamper her and also use oem parts, she will not disappoint you. Mine was used for 4yrs and no major issues because I didn't compromise. Everything I used for her, starting from oil were factory recommended and you can get them at Honda market Ebute Metta . Also, I didn't patronize Kazeem because it rarely give me issues. Anytime I have concern, I take it to G azzuzz for professional attention . Although I have upgraded, but car is still parked in my compound unused for almost 1yr now, because of emotional attachment. Can't bring myself to sell a car that didn't trouble me? |

We all know the reality and it is different from assumption bro.
It is even advisable to buy such year model 2010 from auction accident than buy non-accident dealership which is often high mileage and/or even transmission or engine damaged, if u know you know. Baba 90% of my vehicles are either from dealership or direct owner and some instances I pay inspectors to go check and give me there 50 point report Don't even bother to compare auction vehicle to dealership vehicles, auction doesn't give give you the liberty to check and most times when your auction vehicle arrives you are faced DelTel: Yeah you right but how many Naija dealer/seller/user would buy a 2010 vehicle from US dealership; ratio 1:1,000,000 .

Do you know how many people has bought vehicles from auction and vehicle ended up with more issues than reported, including bad engine and transmission, etc |

DelTel: Mmmhhhh I get your point but I usually laugh whenever I see those ad of 2010 rx350 for #6m thou (I have a unit each of 2012 and 2013 rx350 with mouse, excellent condition for #6m) https://www.nairaland.com/5391599/2012-lexus-rx350-vin-070468#81799728 (Op, sorry for advertising on your thread)
I won't want to go deep into the current situation; I don't want to use another man's thread to do that. I have stated it on another thread previously that tokunbo vehicle does not have uniform price, you sell according to how much you bought. You don't expect a clean title vehicle bought from a dealership to cost same price as accidented auction vehicle |
Car Talk › Re: 2013 Toyota Camry Or 2010 Rx330 Which Should. I Go For? by Fogman(m): 9:01am On Apr 29, 2020 |
DelTel: 2010 Lexus is rx350 not 330. Both vehicles are not close price-wise: a 'good' rx350 2010 is more than #4m, while a 'good' 2013 Camry should be around #3.6-3.8m (XLE Abit more though).
Camry easier to maintain. Camry more fuel economical (esp as it is available in 2.5L 4plugs) while all Lexus are 3.5L v6 (2010 rx350 precisely), Toyota parts generally cheaper to purchase than Lexus which is the luxurious version. A good RX350 2010 is nothing less than N5.5m presently, use to be much more than this. With current situation it should cost over N6m when you factor exchange rate and new custom duty |
