Please anyone have an idea how long the GCMS note takes currently? I applied for the GCMS Note since June 22nd and I haven’t gotten any response till now.

Please does anyone has the contact details (phone number) of the VFS center in Lagos?

Most times, background verification remains like that even after a decision has been taken; what is most important is your status update, which says -Closed, and your eligibility, which says - Complete. So the next step is to get your GCMS note that will explain all to you, and the sooner you apply for it, the better, cos it takes like a month to get.

Hello, this link only shows you the status of your application. From this, your application was closed in March, which was the last update, and eligibility is complete. Now, from the link, we cannot tell if you were refused or banned. But, you were not approved, as you would see your visa number and expiration dates on this link, but nothing is there. At this point, you need to confront your agent about what type of refusal was given I hope it is not that you have been banned, because this decision came in since March, so the application is closed. At this point, please apply for your GCMS note so you can see the reason for the refusal. This is why he is not replying to you; your case is closed, so the only way to know what is going on is to either contact him again or request the note.

During COVID, when I was applying for my PR, it took about ten months to process — from April 2020 to February 2021. That’s when I learned that you can request GCMS (Global Case Management System) notes for your Canadian application even while it’s still in process. In fact, many people do this, and some claim that after ordering GCMS notes, their application started moving forward.

Option 1 GCMS It doesn’t change the overall outcome of your application in any way, and the visa officer doesn’t even know that you requested it, as it’s handled by a completely different department through an access to information request.


Option 2 Track your application online if possible you have most of the details someone here can help you with that I am more worried about you getting to know what the agent is hiding

option 2 might give you the status of your application but not what the agent submited for you

Thank you for the info. He wasn’t actually a “Facebook agent”, the person that got her “approved visa” through the agent in the past was the person that recommended him, and you know a lot has changed about Canada immigration.

The fact that you are not getting any email regarding the actual application means he used his email for the application. I hope he is willing to give you your login details . Just search using my user name, you will see i have posted the GCMS steps several times. I hope this helps , if you used your email for the actual application, i would have given you a link you can use to track the application but you need to have access to the email used on the application because a security code will be sent to that email to activate the tracking account.

Please I will still like to get the link to track it, let me just try my email if it might work because if I don’t try, I won’t know the email address that was actually used.

Is there a payment to be made for the GCMS Note?

Has the person who introduced you both attempted to contact him as well? I'm asking because he lives in a country with established laws and order. If you report him, he could face consequences unless he is a licensed consultant certified by IRCC. Even then, there are specific standards and ethical guidelines that consultants must follow in their conduct.

I spoke with the person that recommended him just yesterday and he said I should message him to ask for my login details then give him time to respond, if he didn’t respond after some days then I should get back to him.

Good morning that is why i am saying put in for a GCMS note this is not only used when some one has been refused you can also use this to know the status of your application and even know the documents that where submitted that way you will see if you have been refused or Godforbid banned, So while you are trying to get through to him request for the note. Another question: Did he use your email address or his own for this application?

Thank you so much for your response. I will like to know the procedure for applying for the GCMS note. I believed my email was used because I filled in my details including my email address on the form that was given at the VFS center on the biometric day and I also received a mail from the VFS immediately after my biometric.

He doesn’t know how to tell you the outcome. If he has an office, go there unexpectedly; if not, he will keep avoiding you. February applications have been addressed, at least most of them.

He lives in Canada, someone recommended him and gave me his contact details, that was how we started.

I have the UCI number and the application number. Why I’m not talking about the GCMS note yet is because I applied 27th of February this year and I don’t know if my application has been processed, the agent just shut me off after my biometric since February ending. I just want to know what’s up with my application since I can’t communicate with the agent.

First you need your login details but I am sure your agent will not give that to you, Secondly you can request for a GCMS note to know the status of your application but you need your UCI number and your application number. do you have that?
