I waited 72 hours after payment before trying again and also made sure it was a working day and time.

It shows error that it failed. That payment failed or that date-picking failed ? ** Also note that you have to wait 24hrs after payment before you try to book an appointment and the only avenue that will take you to calendar is by clicking on pending appointment after logging in to your portal. 👍

Thanks for the response. Canceling the pending appointment and starting a new one solved it. However, after payment and trying to fix a date, another error occured. When picking the date, it shows an error that it failed. Is this something you can assist with?. Thanks.

You are having difficulty in making payment and generating code on the avits portal in your profile not in Nigeria because it is your mistake.

** Cancel all the pending appointment and start all over. B4 you start again make sure that you have filled and finally submitted your ds 160. Also choose physical bank payment. It's not compulsory you pay with card. You may screenshot your dashboard for clarification.

** If it persist then cancel pending appointment in your present avits profile and abandon it by opening another profile entirely and start all over. 👍

Am having difficulty making payment and generating code on the avits portal in nigeria.... the generate button is not giving me further details. It just remains on the page.... I tried using my card to make payment... am also not able to pay... it says error... can someone please assist?

They don't really focus on finance. The main thing is home ties. She must convince the visa officer she will come back to Nigeria.

Thankz for the reaponse. My mother in law is a trader. How much finance can she say she has to prove financial stability forba visit to her aunt and saying shes sponsoring herself.

For a US visit visa, the applicant's profile is more significant than that of the host, regardless of whether the host is a citizen or a green card holder.

Note that these consular officers are under time constraints, and they want to make quick decisions based on initial impressions of the applicants, not the host.

Since the applicant is the main focus, the visa officers at the US embassy almost never look at the applicant's documents because they are aware that the majority of these documents can be purchased on the streets.

This is another reason why some applicants who claim they are going on vacation and have no family or friends in the US are granted a visa at a higher rate than those who have relatives. They used hotels.

The visa officer focuses more on the applicant's profile and determines the credibility of the applicant within the 2-minute allotted interview time.

For complex cases, the interviews might be longer than the usual time because the applicants' profiles look ok and they passed the initial assessment, but the consular officers need additional information to arrive at their decisions. Interviews in this category can last up to 5 minutes or more.

Why are both of you (husband & wife) hyper eager to bring your family into the U.S ?
Why don't you want to wait until after your final graduation or untl the naming ceremony of your 1st child in America before you invite your mother-in-law ?

Employment Authorization Document (EAD) legally allowed both of you to work in the U.S. for a specific period of time but It's a temporary document, not a Green Card, and does not guarantee permanent residency in the future.

The only person who can invite her as it stands is her aunt in the U.S and that invitation should be based on medical .👍

My spouse is currently waiting on an adjustment of status approval. He's got ead. Can he invite his mum? I am currently waiting on adjustment of status too while on f1. I also have Ead, can I invite his mum? His mum has an aunt that is a usa citizen but she will be retiting next year, can she invite my spouses mum? Which of us stand best to invite her in for visiting? His mum is a trader in nigeria? How do we handle financial statement for her?
His mum is in her 70s.

Yes they do consider the profile (and conduct background checks) of anyone living inside the U.S. and inviting a foreign resident for any kind of visit.

The best people you can visit (in America) that will have a kind of relevant to the visa officers are : Your spouse , parents, business partners (in various form) , and your children or annex employer .

However, no matter how strong the reputation or how wealthy the person or the entity you are visiting is, the only thing that will determine your visa success is your own personal qualification. You must satisfy all B1/B2 visa requirements. 👍

Thanks. Do you think if someone to be visited is a non immigrant, it can affect someone one is inviting to the usa? For instance, if am a non immigrant with valid student status, will it affect me inviting my aunt over? Or can someone who is a retired citizen invite someone over?

They do not ask for documents to prove that you are going for graduation. You just prepare to defend the reason for your trip.

To what extent do u mean financially capable? What will be used to determine this. And what are your thoughts on this application. Would you recommend proceeding?

1. This is like quasi-sponsoring your mother to come and stay in America and your residency status and entrance history has big roles to play.

2. Your mom can only visit you (in this era) most likely under medical emergency and to get approved you must prove that you are medically unfit, just delivered of a baby, your kid (s) is unwell or your mom herself is medically ill with clinic or hospital references.

3. If your mother is a very literate person or a career woman she can apply under business emergency.

4. Yes. You must be a citizen or a permanent resident , and with financial capability in order to invite someone from outside the USA.

PS: If you plan to invite her normally for informal mother and daughter reunion without considering any of the options above it can take her 2 years to realise such dream.
