Thank you for your response. I appreciate boss. What brand of inverter please?
Edrizz:
Yeah, you're good to go with 3.5kva 24v inverter for 310-330k
3.8kwh lithium battery from mrreed for around 600k
4pcs of 590watt jinko panel @500k since u intend to be using AC in the afternoon
150k for cable and accessories

U may need to up ur budget by 300-400k sha
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by FordMustang: 5:02pm On Jul 26, 2025
wow! my thought has always been that Tubular batteries are cheaper and lithium batteries are more expensive.

thank you so much.

dollarnaira:
In fact the 4kwh is around 500k or less. But cells only is less than 400k.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by FordMustang: 5:00pm On Jul 26, 2025
Oh wow! thank you so much for this eye opener. God bless you.

I would appreciate your professional guidance on the best components and whether my budget is realistic for this setup.

My Budget and Requirements

Budget: ₦1.5 million

Power Requirements for my store:

10 lighting points
1 × 24-inch TV
2 × standing fans
1 × 1.5HP inverter AC (for afternoon use during peak sun hours while fans are off)

I'm considering a 3.5kVA 24V hybrid inverter to handle my load, especially the AC during sunny afternoons. However, I'm unsure if my budget can accommodate all my needs.

I need advice on:

Hybrid Inverter: What brand and specifications would you recommend?
Battery System: Which lithium battery brand and capacity should I choose?
Solar Panels: What type and wattage would be most suitable?
Charge Controller: What specifications should I look for?

My main concern: Can my ₦1.5 million budget cover a complete system that meets these requirements?

Techsinnovative:
Tubular batteries are not in any way cheaper. They are way more expensive once you understand what you are looking at.

Your battery is basically an energy storage device, you store energy in them via charging, you use the stored energy in them via discharges. A battery has 2 major metrics you want to watch out for:

Storage Capacity Wh - multiply the ampereHour (AH) rating by the battery Voltage (V)

Usable energy available - recommended Depth of Discharge (DOD), the level the manufacturer recommends you can safely discharge the battery to before compromising its lifespan and ending up with a brick grin

Now lets take a general look at the figures:

2 tubular batteries 12v 220AH
Average (Cost of medium grade) - #600,000
Storage capacity(i doubt its real grin) - 24v x 220 = 5280Wh
Recommended DOD to get 4 - 5 years lifespan is 50%, hence actuall useable energy really = 50% x 5280 = 2640Wh!!! huh shocked grin
Longetivity - 5 years

4Kw Lithium battery
Average cost - #600,000
Storage capacity - 4000Wh
Recommended DOD to get 6000 cycles (>15 years lifespan tongue) is 80- 90%, hence actuall useable energy really = 90% x 4000 = 3600Wh!!!
Longetivity - =>15 years

i hope this helps clarify a bit. Cheers!

okay thank you. your opinion is acknowledged
CuteMaro:
Ok, the experts will give you more insight, but going with Tubular batteries is a no no.

You should get a hybrid inverter, no need for Charge controller. I will recommend Haisic 24v 4.2kva, got mine for 340k. Most 3.5kva hybrids comes at similar price range. Haisic is super quiet and can take up to 5kw power from panels.

As for batteries. To get a cheaper deal you should contact Mrreed or Valto for at least a 24v 5kwh hour battery. Or you can go for Haisic 24v 8kwh at 800k.

I'll leave the rest for the experts in the end you may have to step up ur budget by a little bit to get the best bang for your bucks. Good luck!

Thank you boss. I chose tubular battery because of my budget.
Techsinnovative:
First mistake is the @ bolded. Forget Tubular/lead acid batteries. Think in terms of Lithium batteries. They provide way more storage density at the same cost, and will also outlast both Tubular & lead acid batteries
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by FordMustang: 1:10pm On Jul 26, 2025
Thank you so much boss. My budget is 1.5m
CuteMaro:
You can start with stating your budget. I am sure with that people can advise you properly. Goodluck!

Merry Christmas boss, someone refereed you to me.

Two months after purchasing the vehicle, I noticed that the AC was not cooling effectively. I took it to a technician, who informed me that the refrigerant level was low. He refilled it, and the AC started cooling properly again. However, two months later, I experienced the same issue. The technician checked for leaks but found none. After another refill, the AC worked fine, and I had no further issues for a while.

Sometime later, I noticed that the floor mats on the driver's side and the rear passenger side were getting wet. Upon consulting the technician, he discovered a blockage in the AC drainage system and fixed it. The AC worked perfectly after that, and I enjoyed it without any problems until three weeks ago.

Recently, I noticed a new issue. When starting the car, the AC would not cool at all. However, after driving to my destination and restarting the car, the AC began cooling again. This pattern repeated itself: the AC would stop cooling whenever I stopped and restarted the car during trips.

I returned to the technician, who confirmed that the refrigerant level was sufficient. He attributed the issue to the compressor, suggesting that I switch to a manual system to resolve the problem. However, I prefer not to make this change.

Please, how can you be of help? I live in Oyo town.

Merry Christmas to all my customers,

Thank you so much for your response. I purchased the vehicle nov 2023 and started experiencing AC problems about 2 months later. Here's the sequence of issues:

Initial Problems (First 4 Months):

At 2 months: AC wasn't cooling well. Technician diagnosed low refrigerant and refilled it.
At 4 months: Same cooling issue occurred. Technician refilled refrigerant again and checked for leaks but found none.

Floor Mat Issues:

Later discovered wet floor mats on driver's side and rear passenger side
Technician diagnosed a blockage and fixed it
AC worked well after this repair

Current Problem (Past 3 weeks):

AC has become intermittent suddenly

Scenario 1: AC not cooling when first starting the car
Scenario 2: AC starts cooling after reaching destination and restarting car
Scenario 3: AC stops cooling again after another stop and restart

Latest Diagnosis:

Technician checked and confirmed adequate refrigerant levels
Diagnosed a compressor issue (he did not really check with any engine. Just looked at it and said that is the issue)
Recommended switching from automatic to manual AC system

mayor2013:
Kindly state what's the main issue with your Ac . Not every thing is compressor issue

Dear Lexus Club Members,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out regarding my 2010 Lexus RX350, which is experiencing issues with its AC compressor.

Several technicians have suggested converting the compressor to manual operation, but I'm hesitant to take this route as I'd prefer to maintain the original functionality if possible.

I live in Oyo town and would greatly appreciate your expertise and guidance on this matter. What would you recommend as the best course of action? I'm looking for a solution that maintains the vehicle's integrity while ensuring reliable AC performance.

Additionally, could you please recommend any trusted technicians that can come to Oyo town and who specialize in Lexus AC systems? I'm keen to work with someone who has specific experience with RX350 models.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to your recommendations.

Thank you so much. I have been able to purchase my starlink and also set it up. I used Providus bank card for every transaction.

I used Access Visa card. Have no idea about the normal GTB card. You can try it though..

oh, thank you so much. Does that mean i can buy using my normal GTB debit card?

jmaine:
1) Speed in Oyo will likely be Between 150 - 200 Mbps on a norm for the 5 GHz band, the 2.4 GHz band has significantly lower speed at 20 -30 Mbps...

2) Yes, you can order it directly from their website, and it will take 2 working days after your order to be delivered to you.

3) There is no customs fee since you are not importing anything. Starlink has supplies in Nigeria to meet your demand.

Don't waste any more time, unless you want to wait till the end of October to see if the cheaper iteration (Starlink mini) will be on sale in Nigeria.

Cheers...

Hello,

I live in Oyo town and I'm considering joining the Starlink family. I have a few questions before I proceed:

is the internet speed faster in Oyo?

Can I buy Starlink directly from the website, or do I need to go through a third party? If you ordered yours directly, how long did it take to arrive?

Lastly, I had a previous experience where I bought an iPhone and had to pay almost 250k in customs duty. Do I have to pay any customs duty when purchasing Starlink? If so, how much should I expect?

Looking forward to your insights!

Thanks in advance.
