On the matter of "fairness of God" The bible lets us know that at the end, The BELIEVERS WORKS will be judged at the judgement seat of Christ, the UNBELIEVERS will be Judged at the "Great white throne judgement". I have always wondered why the unbelievers will be at the " white throne" judgement. The Holy Spirit gives me the understanding that man who refuses to accept Jesus will be exposed to the fullness of the Holiness and Glory of God and will see himself as he really is (what those who have the Near death experience return to talk about), in contrast to the Holiness of God and many who reject him now will beat their chests in misery just realizing how puny he was to save himself by any man-concocted way. God is just and fair because all the words we hear today will speak for or against each man at his judgement, would you say you did not hear?. The OP questioned which would be greater loss/gain, accepting Christ, only to find that there is no heaven/ hell, or rejecting Him to eternal regrets. It's really not a case of a gamble, but a choice based on conviction brought about by experience. The "proof" is in the experience. Seek and you will find, Jesus is The Way, God bless.
