PhonesRe: Effects Of Mobile Phones On Students by FoundationFAE: 2:39pm On Sep 20, 2018
The effect of mobile phone on students that were already taught the concept of educational technology and mobile learning enhances continuous learning.

This aspect of learning is the key to self improvement even after graduation from school. The current educational systems in africa still follow the industrial era process.

We need to understand that most young learners are digital natives while most teachers are digital migrants.
The current millennials adapt and access everything easily via their mobile devices.

The new generation of learners learn more on their mobile device than in class. Don't get us wrong, a mobile device cannot replace a professor but the professor can't provide an instant and up-to-date educational response to students questions.

Mobile phones give access to information at the speed of light. Provides various source of knowledge to choose from.

The future of learning and education will deeply rely on mobile learning and edtech scyned together.

The state of moral decadence is highly profitable and accepted in a society where our leaders, bosses, brand ambassadors etc lack understanding of the essence and value of education in a nation.

Please can any one name an educational show or program where students can make up to 45million naira in few days?

Trust me, it practically doesn't exist in Nigeria.

Now don't get me wrong, if this show one day come into existence in Nigeria. That is when you will know Nigerians have the smartest intellects in the world.

The current 21st generation youth or millennials in this era are very smart and really ready to contribute to nation building but those at the head of power just want to continue controlling and redirecting their mind to TV programs like this.

Another example look at the sponsors of this program. They could have invested in education even at the tertiary level. The impact they would have, will be enormously felt even if it was in a state.

Well we are in Nigeria.

I hope the new generation of leaders are prepared to help build our nation. Because if they don't our unborn child are in for it.

Regards,
FoundationFAE.
EducationRe: Smart Ways To Read And Understand For Higher Grade by FoundationFAE: 9:33am On Mar 09, 2018
By reading this post now we believe and understand great mind think alike.

Because it is very rare to find individuals who contribute with informative and intellectual post on this forum at times.

And even if they did as you have been doing with your other posts. They never reach front-page.

You are definitely a rare gem.

Have a great day.
EducationRe: Striking Non-academic Staff Unions Threaten To Disrupt 2018 Utme by FoundationFAE: 9:21am On Mar 09, 2018
The striking Non-Teaching Staff of the Nigerian Universities has threatened to disrupt the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) set to hold from March 9.

Mr Samson Ugwoke, Chairman, Joint Action Committee (JAC), Non-Teaching Staff of the Nigerian Universities, made the threat at a meeting of the National JAC with the Principal Branch Officers on Wednesday in Abuja.

Well if this information is true. Then this shows we have the wrong individuals at the wrong positions.
The question is what will they gain by disrupting the next generation future.

We have always stated that when the essence and value of education is not known in a Nation, all that is left is failures in aspects of the nation's building.

We hope that the Non-Teaching Staff of the Nigerian Universities led by example through the demonstration of intellectual understanding and maturity. In as much as we understand their personal needs are not being met.

They should focus and redirect their anger and complain to the system of government their generation built not to the 21st generation or millennial students.

With respect from the future of education in Nigeria.

EducationRe: 5 Reasons Candidates May Not Score High In 2018 UTME by FoundationFAE:
Thank you for your post. We believe this is educational to an extent however certain believes need to be corrected.

You Didn't Plan Your reading

This is the best point you made. But planning to read is not learning. Learning is a continuous state. That is if students had being taught the real concept and essence of learning which is continuous knowledge acquisition and practice. They won't need to plan their reading.

Inability To make past questions your partner

This is the worst advice you can give students. I understand you might have tried that and it worked for you. Due to the educational system of Nigeria.

This is a cram to pass method which end up still not effective. In Nigeria, students never understand the essence of education or learning due to the regurgitating factor being forced on them by their professors.

This why, after graduation from most Nigerian universities, students hardly remember anything apart from course titles and the stress of regurgitation.

We need to teach students to learn and not regurgitate to pass.

No study partner
Truly, study partners are great. Sincerely do they really help. Well the only partners students need in Nigeria is access to quality educational technology and materials which can enable them to learn more and explore their horizons.

It is a pity this is really missing in our system. Do you all think Sweden, Finland, Japan , England etc all arrived at their innovative technological advances without access to educational technology and materials. We are in the 21st century and innovative approach through technology is the way forward. This can lead to all forms of learning such as self learning, personalized learning, adaptive learning, micro learning, flipped classroom, etc.

Lack of target

This is also a wrong mind set. Education or exam is not a marketing or business where target is extremely important.

They Depend on Cheating

That is due to the exam body who sell information out to make money.

Cheating is bad. But I don't believe cheating will make you pass or impact knowledge into anyone.

Haven't you heard or taken exams where you are allowed to bring all devices, books and past questions (like you said above), and still students end up failing.
This is because, exam are to test your knowledge and learning capabilities. Not for regurgitation processing.

With all due respect to the OP or Mod. These are the few things we observed. Hope to read more from you.

Thanks and have a wonderful day ahead.

Quick quotes:
“Education is evolving due to the impact of the Internet. We cannot teach our students in the same manner in which we were taught. Change is necessary to engage students, not in the curriculum we are responsible for teaching, but in school. Period.” – April Chamberlain

“We need to embrace technology to make learning more engaging. Because when students are engaged and they are interested, that's where learning takes place.”

“We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.” - David Warlick
