No Sir, it can't be flashed with cwm recovery or any other recovery. It can only be flashed with sp flash tool.. rexdphoenix: |
Just follow the instructions as displayed on your "update app" screen. jalay: |
King root won't root the phone. And yes, the phone will work just fine but with stock recovery. abdulr747: |
To flash your lollipop rom using the infinix flash tool: Download and extract both the rom and the flash tool from the provided links. Launch the flash tool and load scatter file from the extracted rom folder. Next, switch your phone off. Then click the green arrow button on the flash tool. Connect your phone and wait. Once the flash is done, you'd get a success notice. Unplug and boot your phone. This might take a while, so be patient. |
No unrooting required as the flashing process will wipe everything in your phone memory, hence the need for a new custom recovery. And by the way, your old TWRP Recovery won't work with your lollipop rom. abdulr747: |
You can't flash it with TWRP Recovery. There's a link for infinix flash tool you're to use there in my post, please use that as it is easy and fast. However, it's recommended you create a backup of your previous rom and your data just in case. After successfully upgrading to the lollipop rom, use the regular sp flash tool to flash the custom TWRP Recovery, after which it will boot into your custom TWRP Recovery. Here it will ask you if you want to install super user on your phone, select yes if you want your phone rooted and no if you don't want it and it will go ahead as instructed. After this installation, select the superuser icon to update your binaries. Note that you'd require Internet access for this. abdulr747: |

Yes, you can if you want to. However note that if you've installed a custom recovery the process might fail unless you after downloading the update, power down and install it through your custom recovery... jalay: |
Please read through the thread, a fix has been discussed here... Or to be more specific, you'd need to flash a new systems.img file on your phone. opefoye: |
Pls note, password for all files I posted here is either "hero" or "hero2". |
yamidroid:OK, try this: First make sure you have your data backed up before proceeding. First install a custom recovery. (you can use the twrp tool on the page or any other of your choice) Then download this into your mmc https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip?retrieve_file=1 After, boot into recovery and select "install zip from SD card" Select and install the supersu downloaded from above link. Reboot your phone and update supersu binaries. Goodluck. |

Please use kingroot, but make sure your device is connected to the Internet. After a successful root, use the twrp tool to create a twrp custom recovery for your device. Good luck. yamidroid: |

abdulr747:I just discovered you don't have to do any wipes or unroot your phone to run an update if you have a custom recovery (especially twrp recovery). All you need do after downloading the update is to just launch into the recovery mode, select flash and locate the update where it is on your phone. Then let the custom recovery do the rest.. You should get a success notice after its all done. That's how I did mine anyway. |

edusucces:Don't. The update isn't worth bricking your phone, as it will brick regardless of whether you un-root or not. However, to remove root, launch the kinguser app then navigate to settings, root authorization settings, remove root permission, there it will ask if you want to disable root, just disable and allow the app do its work, after which you'd get a notice of completion. |

I am uploading a copy (flashable with sp flashtools) |
Please, whatsapp only! |
softtouch29:Uploading it is a problem because of the file size... Will try see if I can find a solution for this. |
Thanks y'all, I now have an mtk backup, and my phone lives! Next is to create and flash a cwm recovery. |
Warlord3000:Okay. But where/how do I get the scatter file? |
