10 THINGS YOU SHOULD THINK OF DOING IN THIS YEAR 2022

1. Pursue
Do something, sell something. Don't walk in the entire 365 days without having something particular in mind to achieve. Start a building project, buy a car, pay some school fees, start some job, sell something. Just do something!

2. Walk with Intelligent people
Walk with people wiser or stronger than you. In 2022, surround yourself with people who will inspire you, who will make you feel you can do better, who will challenge you on ur ability.

3. Check ur appearances
Check your dressing or appearance. Don't put on 'anything' just because it covers your unclothedness. Your appearance tells a lot about you. Iron your dress neatly. Don't wear dresses in the name of fashion or trend . Wear more decent but fitting dresses. This is the slogan: Simple but Classy.

4. Check how you talk
Before you open your mouth, be mindful of who you are talking to, where you are talking, when you are talking and also know that your integrity is at stake. In every situation, choose silence over speech unless you don't have any option.

5. Visit old people's home
To appreciate old people, visit old people's home, also orphanage and children in need of special care. Don't let them feel unwanted or neglected in the scheme of things.

6. Be more prayerful.
You can't live your life thinking things occur merely logically. There's a Supreme Being who makes things happen, pray to him.�

7. Do more to humanity
Start thinking or planning towards doing more for humanity.

8. Positive & realistic
Always think Positive while being Realistic. When you see tigers praying to God, don't join them. You can be positive that they won't 'chop' you since they are praying but be realistic too that after the prayers, they'll remain tigers and God will feed them with flesh.

9. Buy gifts for your love ones
In 2022, try and do something 'small' for parents . You have no idea what goes on in their minds Let them feel you are not far off

10. Invest more, save less
Spend less. Put your money into investment ventures. Buy T-bills, buy shares, buy fixed deposits, import some goods and sell, be a stock broker, etc. In fact, get more than one stream of income

In this new year, change your direction and not the dates, change your commitments and not the calendar, change your attitudes and not your actions, and cause a change in your beliefs, power, and focus and not in fruit. . May you keep your promises and bring you and your loved ones the happiest New Year ever.

President Biden today said he stands by his decision to withdraw US forces from Afghanistan, characterizing the decision as a choice between pulling out, or going back to fighting the Taliban in the middle of the fighting season.

"I stand squarely behind my decision," Biden said in remarks from the White House. "After 20 years, I've learned the hard way that there was never a good time to withdraw US forces. That's why we're still there."
Biden went on to say that he had weighed the risks carefully before making the decision, but acknowledged that the situation on the ground had devolved more quickly than he anticipated.

"We were clear-eyed about the risks," he said. "We planned for every contingency. But, I always promised the American people that I will be straight with you. The truth is, this did unfold more quickly than we had anticipated."

The President went on to outline what he believes were the events that led to the Taliban's swift takeover in the country.

"So what's happened? Afghanistan political leaders gave up and fled the country. The Afghan military collapsed, some without trying to fight. If anything, the developments of the past week reinforced that ending US military involvement in Afghanistan, now, was the right decision," Biden said. "American troops cannot and should not be fighting in a war and dying in a war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves."

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Tuesday he will resign effective in fourteen days because of a sexual harassment scandal that has crippled his administration, saying he did not want to distract the state from important work to be done

Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will replace Cuomo, and become the Empire State's first female governor.

Cuomo's resignation comes a week after a damning report issued by the state Attorney General's office found he had sexually harassed current and former staffers, along with a state police trooper assigned to his protective detail, and women outside of government.

It also comes as at least five district attorney's offices in countries around the state are investigating possible crimes by Cuomo against some of the women, or have requested evidence from the AG's report.

Cuomo, 63, said he was motivated to step down to avoid months of distraction for the state, which is continuing to deal with the Covid pandemic, from an all-but-certain impeachment of him over allegations he sexually harassed at least 11 women.

"Given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to government," Cuomo said. "And therefore that is what I'll do, because I work for you, and doing the right thing, is doing the right thing for you."

While continuing to deny some of the more serious claims against him, Cuomo conceded he had offended some of his accusers with what he considered friendly or incidental physical contact and comments that were normal for men of his generation.

"In my mind, I have never crossed the line with anyone," he said. "But I didn't realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn."

"Thank you for letting me serve you. It has been the honor of a lifetime," Cuomo said.

Hochul, a Buffalo Democrat who will turn 63 this month, in a tweet, said "I agree with Governor Cuomo's decision to step down. It is the right thing to do and in the best interest of New Yorkers."

"As someone who has served at all levels of government and is next in the line of succession, I am prepared to lead as New York State's 57th Governor," Hochul wrote.

In a CBS News interview that aired Monday, Cuomo executive assistant Brittany Commissioner described how the governor had groped her breast in one incident, and then rubbed her read end during another encounter in the Executive Mansion in Albany after he suggested they take a selfie photo together.

"What he did to me was a crime. He broke the law," the Commissioner said.

Cuomo's decision to quit follows called by a wave of fellow Democrats, including President Joe Biden and members of the state's congressional delegation — among them, Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand — and in New York's legislature either reiterated or made new calls that he step down.

On Sunday, Cuomo's top aide, Melissa DeRosa, who had been accused in the AG's report of being a key figure in an effort to smear one of the governor's most prominent accusers, resigned.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari yesterday denied demanding or receiving a bribe from alleged internet fraudster Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, alias Hushpuppi, from a $1.1million loot.

In a post on his Facebook page, Kyari said those celebrating the allegations against him would be disappointed.

Hushpuppi was arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in June 2020 alongside 11 of his associates on hacking, impersonation, scamming, banking fraud, and identity theft allegations.

He has pleaded guilty in the United States and, according to court documents, narrated how he bribed Kyari following the decorated policeman’s alleged role in arresting and jailing – at Hushpuppi’s request – his fraud rival Kelly Chibuzor Vincent after both were locked in a dispute.

According to the US Department of Justice, a criminal complaint initiated the prosecution of Hushpuppi in February as court documents showed that Abbas, 37, pleaded guilty on April 20.

Officials said in court filings that Abbas disclosed during interrogation that he paid bribes to Kyari, to have one of his rivals arrested and jailed in Nigeria following a dispute over a $1.1million duped from a Qatari businessperson.

Abbas had asked Kyari to arrest and jail Vincent after both were locked in a dispute presumably over how to share the $1.1million loot received from the Qatari businessperson.

Abbas later contacted Kyari to arrest and jail his rival over the dispute. Abbas said Kyari sent pictures of Vincent in jail and subsequently sent his bank account number to Abbas to which a wire transfer should be made having done a good job as sent by Abbas.

In a Facebook post, Kyari dissociated himself from any such corrupt practice.
Kyari said: “Friends: Abbas who we later came to know as Hushpuppi called our office about two years ago that somebody in Nigeria seriously threatened to kill his family here in Nigeria and he sent the person’s phone number and pleaded we take action before the person attacks his family.

“We traced and arrested the suspect and after investigations we discovered there wasn’t an actual threat to anyone’s life, and they are longtime friends who have money issues between them hence we released the suspect on bail to go and he was not taken to any jail.

“Nobody demanded for a kobo from Abbas Hushpuppi and nobody collected any money from him.”

A US court has issued a warrant of arrest for Kyari’s arrest. Otis Wright of the United States District Court for the Central District of California ordered the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FIB) to track down Kyari and produce him in the US for his alleged role in the multi-million dollar fraud by Hushpuppi and his co-conspirators.

Inspector-General of Police Usman Baba has ordered a thorough probe. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a statement by spokesman Kola Ologbodiyan, also seeks a probe

The first gold medal of the Tokyo Olympics goes to Qian Yang from China, after the 21-year-old came out on top in the women's 10 meter air rifle competition.

At 14:00 BST (09:00 EDT), the four passengers will lift off on a rocket from Bezos' private launch site near Van Horn, Texas.

The capsule, containing the Bezos brothers, Funk and student Oliver Daemen, separates from its booster around 76km (250,000ft) up. The rocket lands on its "legs" about 2 miles from the launch pad, while the capsule continues upwards to an altitude of around 106km (350,000ft).

"We're in zero-g for around four minutes, and we get to get out of our seats, unstrap, float around, look at the thin limb of the Earth's atmosphere," Bezos told CBS News.

Billionaire Jeff Bezos will blast into space on Tuesday, in the first crewed flight of his rocket ship, New Shepard.

He will be accompanied by Mark Bezos, his brother, Wally Funk, an 82-year-old pioneer of the space race, and an 18-year-old student.

They will travel in a capsule with the biggest windows flown into space, offering stunning views of the Earth.

New Shepard, built by Bezos' company Blue Origin, is designed to serve the burgeoning market for space tourism.

"I'm excited. People keep asking me if I'm nervous. I'm not really nervous, I'm curious. I want to know what we're going to learn," Bezos said in an interview with CBS News.

"We've been training. This vehicle's ready, this crew is ready, this team is amazing. We just feel really good about it."
