His Excellency Silas Ali Agara was born 4th April 1972, into the family of Mr and Mrs Ali Agara of Akwanga local government Area in Nasarawa state, Nigeria.
He is a Nigerian politician, sport enthusiast and the former deputy governor of Nasarawa State. He previously served as the Special Adviser on Sports to the Nasarawa State Governor, and was announced as the running mate to Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in 2015
Before now , he was appointed by the past administration of president Mohammad Buhari as the National commissioner National population commission representing Nasarawa state.

I think Nnamdi Kanu asking a judge that had been on his case since 2021 to excuse herself from the case was playing into the hands of his traducers. The government had used every trick available to them to hold him behind and almost got to the end of the rope before this his request. This request means that Chief Justice will need to reassign this case to another judge. How long this will take cant be determined.
The Nigeria Government will encourage available judges to always recuse themselves from handling the case. This will at the long run have Nnamdi Kanu behind bar as long as possible.
Methinks he by himself played into a trap they had long laid for him. No wonder the Justice Nyanko without demur immediately accepted Kanu"s request. She knew the aim of the government and the implication of Kanu's request.

NNPC Ltd Moves to Revive Brass, OK LNG Projects

In its continued bid to maximise the nation’s abundant gas resources for economic development and prosperity, NNPC Ltd. has begun discussions with investors towards bringing back two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects, Brass and Olokola LNG projects.

NNPC Ltd.’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mr. Umar Ajiya disclosed this on the sidelines of the ongoing 2024 Gas Technology Conference and Exhibition (Gastech), in Houston, United States, on Thursday.

Brass LNG and OK LNG are two LNG projects with the potential of manifold economic benefits for the country which include job creation, power generation, revenue generation and economic diversification. The multi-billion-dollar projects were however stalled due to unfavourable market dynamics and slow decision-making by the political class in the past.

"In the past, gas prices went down, the economics of the projects meant a high Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), and this was a dis-incentive for investors and partners. Also, there was slow decision-making by the political class," the CFO added.

While describing NNPC Ltd. as a commercially driven Company which recognises timely project development and execution, the CFO said there are abundant gas resources in many parts of the world and therefore, the earlier Nigeria makes smart decisions to bring partners to the table, the better.

Ajiya commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support in driving new projects in the Industry through the Presidential Executive Orders on Oil & Gas Reforms.

"We are also happy to have the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021 (PIA) which has provided fiscal incentives for investors and is creating the enabling environment that has rekindled hope in the energy sector."

Ajiya described Gastech as an avenue for NNPC Ltd. to learn new technologies which will help the Company decarbonise its operations and promote its abundant LNG resources to the global market.

OYEBANJI CONGRATULATES OKPEBHOLO, EDO GOVERNOR-ELECT

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his emergence as the winner of the just concluded Governorship election in Edo State.

Okpebholo polled 291,667 votes to beat his closest opponent, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 247,274 votes in the September 21 governorship election results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) on Sunday evening.

Governor Oyebanji, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, made available to journalists on Monday, hailed the people of Edo State for reposing confidence in the APC and its Renewed Hope agenda, and rewarding the party with Okpebholo’s victory.

The Ekiti Governor who stated that Edo people have spoken through the ballot, congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for deepening democracy in the country, adding that the outcome of the Edo election is a vote of confidence in the Tinubu administration.

Oyebanji also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring that the people’s votes count, stressing that democracy is taking a firm root in the country, with the electorate being able to reward political parties and candidates, appropriately with their votes.

He called on the Okpebholo, the Governor-elect and his Deputy, Dennis Idahosa, to be magnanimous in victory and extend hands of fellowship to their opponents in the election.

Oyebanji also urged the Governor- elect to see his election as a call to serve, urging him to implement people-oriented programmes and policies that would bring progress and prosperity to the people.

“The Edo people have spoken clearly and loudly. Hearty congratulations to my brother, the Governor- elect, Monday Okoebholo and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa.

“The victory is also a vote of confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has deepened our democracy. It is victory of our party APC and indeed victory for democracy.

“It is a new day in Edo State and I congratulate the people of the state for returning the state to the progressives fold”, the Governor added.
