PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri Dedicates First Day Of Mount Kilimanjaro Climb To President Tinubu by fredpeter(m): 2:32pm On Mar 07
[quote author=joandavidleonha post=138690087]Nigerian diplomat and former presidential aide, Amb Reno Omokri, has dedicated the first day of his climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro to Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Omokri announced the dedication in a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, stating that the opening stage of his climb of Africa’s highest mountain was in honour of the Nigerian leader and the country.

The former presidential spokesperson said the symbolic gesture reflects his appreciation for the President and his commitment to promoting Nigeria on the global stage.

The Kilimanjaro expedition forms part of Omokri’s broader campaign to project a positive image of Nigeria internationally. The author and social commentator has said he intends to hoist the Nigerian flag at the summit of the mountain during the climb, which typically takes several days to complete.

Mount Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania, stands at 5,895 metres (19,341 feet) above sea level and is the tallest mountain in Africa, attracting thousands of climbers each year.

Omokri, who previously served as a special assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has in recent months expressed strong support for the Tinubu administration. He recently praised the president’s leadership and credited him with helping reshape his understanding of patriotism and national unity.

The climb also comes shortly after Omokri’s diplomatic appointment by the Nigerian government. In March 2026, President Tinubu approved his posting as Nigeria’s ambassador to Mexico, a role in which he pledged to promote Nigeria’s interests and strengthen international partnerships.

Omokri described the Kilimanjaro climb as both a personal challenge and a patriotic act aimed at showcasing Nigeria’s image abroad.

The multi-day expedition is expected to culminate with the raising of the Nigerian flag at the mountain’s famous Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the African continent.

It's unfortunate we still have babies watching football with sentiment.

Forget it, Arsenal will win EPL. Please, who wants to stop them?! As a city fan, I never tipped CITzy from the start as they need to gel with their new recruit.

Liverpool is epileptic! Aston Villa will lose breath when it matters.

Arsenal are still the favorite.

As for those praising Carrick, it appears you are just watching football. Carrick is not their saviour! Man U is just in the right spirit. Give them time before they bring their mediocrity back to play. They need to buy NEEDED players not just signing. Kudos ro Carrick but not impressed yet.

Your arguments is based on perception. When the internet, cyber cafe was new in Nigeria, I had free access because of a family friend was running 24/7 cyber. Then, going to cyber mean you are into yahoo but I wasn't restricted at all by dad. I remember I always do night browsing regularly.

Others are busy doing yahoo but I was busy learning about internet as at the early age. After a month, there must be so many invitation letters in our P.O box, scholarship, invitation letter, school brochure which dad was always proud about

Forget about what your kids have access to at early age, how you trained them would determine how to handle whatever they are exposed to.

If you are a Yoruba , there is one mutual saying from our mothers, Ranti Omo eni ti o n se' Remember the son of who you are.

If you are from good background, that line will always be repeated and be ringing in your head always.
that's not true...
Most of my classmates got access to porn sites early enough because they were handed devices so early and school was the only place they could operate it, unsupervised.....
I don't even want to tell u what we did ( I mean we that didn't even get the gadgets early enough) just because we had seatmates in class who had xpressmusic that could browse. Hmmmmm

No one said you cant sue.. anybody can sue for anything . But can you prove promise.. i love you isnt promise.

Its very different from a woman who defrauds a man with the promise of coming to visit and doesnt show up. Once you collect and recieve that money , you are already in a transaction and you must deliver or refund.or face law. Collecting money and not showing up is fraud. Money makes it binding

God bless you for not being bias like ur kind.Did you go to school at all? I was talking about men suing women if they refused to visit them and why we can't sue men for not marrying women whom they promised marriage.
and u actually claim to go to school... If a woman receives money from a man by pretending to visit him then she can be sued because there is a verifiable evidence to that effect but how can u sue someone that verbally said he wants to marry u and didn't, probably even didn't sleep with u at all

So a lady promises a guy she was going to visit him. She later didn't go and was sued and made to pay damages.

On the other hand, a guy promises a lady marriage and did not marry her and she cannot sue him. Like seriously?

For those who would say that the former scenario collected money and refused to go visit him, also note that the latter collected sxxx and refused to marry her. The guy should be sued not because he promised and failed but because he slept with her, probably damaged her body.
Do you even know that women body always not the same again after being sexxed? If the body remain the same, why do u guys always reject a lady with many body count?
So you see it works both ways.
If he can use transfer receipt as evidence against me in court, why can't I use whatsapp chats about the sxxx we had as evidence too? I always tell you guys when u want to come for me, be logical. if he uses transfer receipt i will use whatsapp chats.
na who chat u Abt sex be mumu... Voice call don finish?

Kelklein:
They are still following VIPs in mufti and Camouflage uniforms..

Many are still guarding private properties..

The reason most big men prefer the services of Police is because they are the ones legally allowed to hold high-calibre hard riffles and any weapon.. private guards and vigilantes at best can only hold pump action, which is strenuous and can't do much against an enemy holding AK47 and other AMGs.

The Civil Defence that government recommends, only a handful of them are trained on weapon handling.. majority of them only do Basic Civil Security works like you see them around government offices across the country. Even the pipeline Security that is their main Constituency and the reason fir their establishment had since been taken over by private outfits and military, as the threats worsened.

After this Police ban on VIP Security, the government should go a step further to grant licences to renowned private security outfits esp those owned by retired officers of the Forces, to carry high-calibre hard rifles and also to the Vigilantes and Forest Guards... This alone would generate over half a million jobs in Security Business across the country.

But this is Nigeria.. those who rule you only think very fast when it comes sharing and siphoning money. 🤔🤔
At first I thought u were making sense then u later sounded like the worst security adviser anybody can have... U want to arm civilians with hard rifles when the security agencies are still trying to neutralize bandits... And secondly make ur research on civil defence before u spit out ur recommendations.. I have couple of friends who are officers there and they are so armed to the teeth.. they go through rigorous training because the military is in charge of their arm training...

Someone earning 250k should not try to go close. The person earning 100k should not even promised any woman marriage.

I used to advice men to marry quick but now...I really do not have any advice to give again.

If u don't marry wisely, the marriage would hit u like where a trailer had a head on collision.

Marriage is very dangerous without adequate money to run its internal costs.

I earn 200k plus but it doesn't last me two days. After paying my nanny, pay my children teachers and give to my parents, set aside Nepa bill, fueling two cars in a month, feeding in a month...I might have spent close to
1.2m...it is crazy...not to mention other sundry expenses...all thanks to my side income.

What do i know self..marriage is not for the faint hearted my people.

If u must marry, marry a financially prepared spouse. That doesn't mean u should look for a rich woman or man ...no! but a woman/ man who is financially prepared to manage with u,live with u in tough days and not a downer
Why do u guys find reasons for being irresponsible

Let me tell you what you people don't know.
In as much as I want all the Islamic terrorists and Fulani terrorists wiped out including there sponsors by the United State in the North, there would be a big humanitarian crisis in the South too and that's the fact.
There is no law stopping the movement of people from the North to the South in Nigeria including the disguised terrorists. They will move down south to find shelter. We are talking about 250 million Nigerians here.
Is the South ready for this infiltration and the consequences it will bring? Is the South ready to take care of the Northern immigrants because you cannot stop them from free movement.

***Most comments under my post are based on sentiments and emotions and not solid ground on fact. What you people don't understand is that the northerners may see the invasion as been triggered by the south (most especially the SE) to fight the North and may instruct there people to move down south in millions for shelter. In doing so, we may have more crisis that we may not be able to handle. Is the South ready for this? Such invasion goes beyond just going after the terrorists that have already been infiltrated into the society. It's not that easy as you people think. Once it starts, no one could ascertain its end. *It could be sabotaged from within and US wouldn't be able to help.
U speak like a suspect.... If the disguised terrorist comes to the south, US MARINES will still flush them .. the terrorist were chase from Mexico and they still followed them to Columbia and flushed them... Why must a human being born by a woman decide to be a terrorist...

The Igbos shouldn't rejoice yet over the Trump move because we don't know his agenda yet, wether he has good intension or internal motive against us, this is NOT Biafra war in disguise.
Some Igbos are attacking the Yorubas of being trabalistic over the issue.
This is my comment:
Americans cannot deliver us except we first resolve our internal crisis, we are the problems of ourselves.
When it comes to tribalism, the truth of the matter is that the Igbos are the most tribalistic people in Nigeria, I have lived and worked in the Nortn, East, South South and South West of the country. The Igbos hate hearing the word "We are one Nigeria, because of Biafra issue, the Igbos refuse to forgive Nigeria till tomorrow and it will forever linger on, the Yorubas especially in Lagos accommodate the Igbos to the extend that the population of the Igbos in Lagos are even more than the Yorubas the owners of the state, but in the East, the threat of Biafra agitations, unfriendly behavior of the Igbos towards the Yoruba and the Hausas does not allow us to stay, enjoy the land, even many companies, including the company I worked with in Abia have folded up, some have "japa" , relocated to South West, Lagos and Ogun State where there is peace, you will see companies having only show room in Port Harcourt, but their main factories are in Lagos and Ogun, because of these insecurity issues, kidnapping of their staff, destruction of their facilities, excess demand of son of the soil extortion, etc. Those are the evidences that the Yorubas are not as tribalistic and online ranting as you are as you claim, we are peaceful and accommodating. The only two states that are accommodative in the East related areas are Akwa Ibom and Cross River Calabar, they are good to strangers travellers, tourists. I am talking from experiece.
Until the Igbos forgive Nigeria over Biafra issue, forget about Biafra and move on, there will be no unity, love, among the people, there will be continual crisis, Nnamdi Kanu will remain in jail, and the Hausas and Yorubas will never allow the Igbo to become the nation president.
As I said earlier, this is NOT Biafra war in disguise,, if Trump has internal motive against Nigeria, planning to syphon our treasures, oil, gold, etc, everyone will be a victim including the Igbos, WE ARE ONE NIGERIA, so, don't rejoice yet. Many people don't know that some global elites, some world powers have sinister agenda against the black nations, because they know we are weak, we have resources, so, they take advantage of that to enrich themselves, only God can deliver us. Remember what they did to Sudan, Gadaffi Libya, etc.
Africa, wise up!
Truly the Christians are been persecuted, any attempt to defend / protect us is a welcome development.

May God protect every christian across the nations,
God bless Nigeria,
God bless Africa,
God bless America if they have good intention,
God bless all our well wishers.

Peace!
U just mixed rubbish and a little sense and dished out... In this epistle of urs
1. U display outright tribalism and bigotry
2. U still want to coerce people to believe the country is not in shambles
3. You downplayed the east and it's quest for ever leading the country...

U think the east is not hospitable to foreigners particularly people from the north, have u heard the word Ogbe hausa, Ama hausa it means a territory given to the hausas. They can build, farm and do their businesses there and never for one day has it been heard that they were invaded and massacred...
