Let me start by appreciating everyone who keeps this thread going and respond to questions,share their experiences, air out their own opinion and suggestions willingly even when they have the RIGHT to keep it to themselves. Thats the only thing that motivates others here not to give up or make mistakes. Please lets help each other,some persons will get dates but refuse to share here(no disrespect though). We understand that some persons want to keep it private,but we literally dont know ourselves here and nobody is taking your date from you. Everyone here is pursuing the same thing,we just have to help each other to keep this thread running. Some persons will go to the consulate for appointment and get their visas but refuse to share how it went so others can learn and adjust. The goal here is for everyone to succeed. I feel sad when i hear that people go to the consulate and encounter one challenge or the other,maybe as a result of lack of information et al.
Lets understand that the waiting time alone is frustrating and no one wants to make that mistake of missing out after finally getting an appointment because they were misinformed or not informed(No body is an island of knowledge,we learn everyday).

Finally, for those waiting. Lets try to always get adequate information before going to the Embassy on where you might be having doubts,its better to ask and get clarity from others.

INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT.

I arrived at the embassy at 5:40am for my interview, even though my appointment was scheduled for 8:00am.

Upon entry, we were instructed to arrange our documents in a specific order (Please listen to this ATTENTIVELY because people were sent back to the start by Mr Paulinus alot of times as regards this).
After document arrangements, the popular Mr Paulinus stand was next; had a seamless interaction with him (seems he was in a very good mood🙂) and i was the 2nd person to be sent into the embassy.

At the VO’s Office(Inner Chambers)
Entered the inner chambers at about past 7am

Questions:
1. What did you apply for?
2. What program are you going for? She asked this question repeatedly
3. Why Germany, why not the US?
4. Why do you want to study this course?
5. What’s your means of subsistence?
6. Do you know anyone is Germany?
7. Where do you work?

I was given 10 questions in total in Economics and Mathematics.

Economics Questions:
1. What is opportunity cost
2. Difference between demand and quantity demanded
3. State the factors of production
4. What is GDP and how is it measured
5. Explain market equilibrium

Mathematics Questions:
1. One apple costs $15, if I want to get 4 apples, how much will it cost ?
2. I have 50 oranges, if I take away 23, how many is left ?
3. If I drive for 60km in 1hour, how many km will I drive for in 2.5hours?

The visa application fee remains ₦118,500.

I completed the entire process at the embassy by 8:07am.

And I'm also not going empty handed. I'm going with a print out of my profile showing that the money is in the account and all necessary documents.

Hello Guys,
I jst received a mail stating my interview appointment is slated for 25th of next month. I'm required to be there with an admission letter but I have not secured an admission yet.
I wasn't admitted to the ones I applied to in the past and I haven't been applying for a while now since I last read on this thread it takes 26 months to get an interview date.
I applied for interview June 2023. So it has only been 20 months, and I was planning to start application this month ahead of then.

Due to this short time frame, I'm planning to reschedule since I am not really sure I could secure an admission before then and I also don't have any idea how to go about it. And pls what excuse do you think is proper in my situation?

I really need this, I'll appreciate any response regarding my situation, Thanks!

Hello everyone, my brother has just been given appointment by the embassy for next month but the problem here is he doesn’t have an admission letter. He applied to four schools but was rejected. please I need advice on what can be done?

1. Can he apply to private university and get admission within a month? If yes, can you suggest some private uni to me?

2. How possible is it to transfer from private university in Germany to public university considering the fact he might struggle in paying the school fees?

3. Can he write the embassy to reschedule the appointment to another date?

“Dear Sir,

With regard to your visa application, we kindly request that you submit the following documents to the Consulate.

Proof of incoming insurance that covers your stay in Germany for 180 days or statutory health insurance or private health insurance.

Please also indicate your intended travel dates in writing, keeping in mind that your departure should be scheduled no sooner than 10 days after the date you send us the documents.

Do not buy your ticket until you receive your passport with visa in it!

You may either forward them via courier service or drop them directly at the gate of the Consulate.

A print out of this mail is necessary in any case

We appreciate your prompt attention to this request.

Everyone was sent a link to go and create an account on the new digital platform. The old booking has been canceled. It's more of a first come first served process. if your documents are complete, you send them for preliminary review and it's checked within a week. If all is well, you'll get a link to book an appointment. You get your Visa in 20 days. It's straight forward

No you can't. The visa is attached to you, not your dad. There are only 3 ways to get your proof of livelihood. A block account in your name which you'll only have access to 992 monthly or a sponsor can issue you a Declaration of Commitment “Verpflichtungserklärung”, also called a sponsorship letter. The last is a full-time scholarship that covers that 992 monthly.

If your dad has a valid residence permit and is eligible, let him issue you the second option. He should set up an appointment at the Ausländerbehörde of his city. They'll ask for his recent 3 months payslip, house contract, and passport. Then they'll check if his salary is enough to sponsor you. It's that simple. So reach out to him

I believe since you aren't a citizen you still need to meet the normal requirements of a blocked account. I don't think the consulate accepts nigerian bank statements.

The Embassy/consulate takes the following documents as proof of finances
1. Blocked account with the amount of 11904 euros
2. Sponsorship Letter
3. Scholarship Letter

So you either block the money in an account in Germany using blocked account providers such as Fintiba, Expatio etc.

But my Recommendation: If he's going to sponsor your stay, I think you should do Sponsorship Letter instead.

Anyone can correct me if I am wrong

No one can actually know when you can get AD.
there’s no calculation to it, just patiently wait, and follow up, it will surely get to you.
atleast now, they give ADs every Friday. so when anyone of June 2023, has gotten AD, then you can now know you’re close.

You should be looking at ending 2025/ beginning 2026
The wait time now is 25 months and counting.

It is not possible at this moment to give a more precise prediction.

The reasons are the number of registrations and the shortage of staff.
