There's this movie I saw a while ago, The Boss, Melissa McCarthy was the lead role. Qur'an chapter 2 verse 56(check image below) makes it clear that Islam is liberal and not a religion of compulsion! Same way God right from Genesis gave choice to eat out of that tree and die or don't and live and in Revelations that he that do good should do that still and likewise evil.

With all the due respect to my Muslim friends, I think teaching the doctrines of Islam in Arabic makes it much more easy for teachers, leaders(Imams) and scholars alike to manipulate people into doing the wrong things and the aftermath is what we have today.

I did a questionnaire like a year ago, when I wanted to learn Arabic so I would be able to read and understand the Arabic Qur'an, to my utmost surprise, I found out that over 70% percent of them could not read it and about 15 could read and could not translate nor understand what they had read or recited. The Islamic school, it's called Ile Keu((?) forgive my spelling) in Yoruba, is designed to first teach, the alphabets and so on, then memorizing and recitation of various chapters of the Qur'an. Scholars would graduate at various levels and then there's another level where one would have to go for the translation of all you've known or been taught over those years. Now, this is where people could easily and very much easily be misled! Imagine this scenario; a young man wanting to know more about his faith and his teacher told him that, Al-Baqara vs 62 you just recited,( إِنَّ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ هَادُوا وَالنَّصٰرٰى وَالصّٰبِئِينَ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْءَاخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صٰلِحًا فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ )means the Jews or Christians would grieve and anyone who can make them grieve will have their reward with their Lord(and oh yes, 72 virgins awaits them, no pun intended). Mind you, it says, (Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.). That young would proudly kill and die if need be! All because, he wasn't given a fair chance to read the Holy Qur'an in a language that does not need anyone to twist for him.

I've been reading the Qur'an, the English version and don't have any regret whatsoever.
