Islam for Muslims / A Serious Question About The Advert On This Section. by FreeLogic: 9:18am On Sep 09, 2014

Is the ad not for Nigerians? Why is there no black face on the advert? Or is the ad inviting Nigerians to chat with Arab/foreign muslims who make up the majority on the mobile chat network?

Also, is this not a gateway to fornication? Chatting with lusty profile pictures? Is it even halal?

I think my dismantling of that islamist anti-western essay posted by Tbaba is enough for now.

I know Tbaba12345 is running to Maclatnji to ban me as he always does when his argments have been debunked grin grin grin

tbaba12345:

Again reread what you quoted. You and author said the same thing.

Unfortunately, you have never really been a source of logic or sound intellectual debates.

But one can not fault your obsession and drive.

Congratulations on the new username.

Please stop lying!!!!! The author CLEARLY SAID THAT SECULARISM HAS A NOTION ABOUT MAN'S PURPOSE. I exposed this lie by stating the fact that secularism has nothing to do with man's purpose

Secularism cannot be rationally justified, because in essence it posits the absurd notion that man’s purpose in life should be separate from man’s affairs in life

If you cant handle the truth, keep quiet and allow me to dismantle the illogical argument from that muslim essay!

tbaba12345: The Irrationality of Western Ideology & the Blind Faith of ‘Muslim’ Modernists

The first assumption is that Muslim decline is due to the ‘traditional Muslim understanding of Islam. This is easily refuted when we consider that during the first 500 years of ‘traditional Islam’ Muslims were technologically, militarily and economically the most advanced in the world – innovating many new technologies and expanding the boundaries of human knowledge.

Falsehoods

Arabs/Traditional muslims were never at any point in time the most technologically, military and economically most advanced in the world. Yes, not even at the time of the Arab/Islamic Golden age. It is a favourite muslim mistake to romanticise the golden age.

To burtress this fact, there remains no economic relic from the Arab world that is used in advanced economies today. Western economies have been influenced from financial techniques from ancient Egypt, to biblical Jews, to roman empires to medieval italian bankers......but nothing from the Arab world. Even their zero interest sharia finance had already been in use by Jews centuries before islam.

Arabic inventions in the golden age pale in comparison when compared with what western cultures have invented. Even the chinese had advanced writing skills long before Arabic was even a language.

tbaba12345: The Irrationality of Western Ideology & the Blind Faith of ‘Muslim’ Modernists

If you could take a time machine and go back 100 years, you’d see a europe mostly NOT LIBERAL and 150 years back mostly not secular. Technically, UK is still not a Secular country! The head of state is the head of the national Church – a relic of the not-so-distant past).

In the end, Western development came from a state of mind and spirit, not from an ideology or set of ideas (just look at the modern example of China, a country fast outpacing USA in inventions and industry, despite being not Liberal and not Democratic!).

There is some truth and some falsehoods in your statement.

In reality, liberalism at times is bad for economic success. You see, being liberal with other countries in a zero sum game (winner takes all) will make you an economic loser. Sometimes greater wealth comes from taking by force or domination.

Even Muslims in the past understood this. Didnt muslims colonize Africa? What about Asian conquests? Take a look at India and the spread of Islam.
===============================================

However, here is the false part of the comment I quoted;

China is not more technologically advanced than the USA when it comes to invention and industry. The very Ebola drug that we are begging from is not from China. In terms of scientific research and innovations, USA is ahead. Iphone? Windows? Apple? IBM?

Japan is the most technologically advanced country in the world. It has very liberal policies in most of it scoiety (but very conservative in preserving its culture).

Japan also has a cure for the Ebola virus

A new username, you are obsessed.

Reread what you quoted. Stop rushing to response.

Obsessed with logic and debate.....

Stop dodging and twisting. Point out where I made any mistake if you feel so.

Your Essay on Western culture by Andalusi is filled with inaccuracies and accusations that really cause a rift between muslims and non-muslims in the West.

tbaba12345: The Irrationality of Western Ideology & the Blind Faith of ‘Muslim’ Modernists

For most of the last 500 years, technological advancement in the West started, and has mostly occurred, under highly religious non-democratic european monarchies and empires. The Liberal Democratic Europe we see today mostly emerged only in the last century! [1900-1999]. The vast majority of pioneering Western scientists were not Atheists, nor did they live under Secularism, but rather they were devout Catholics and even clergy (e.g. Roger Bacon, Johannes Kepler, Copernicus, Descartes, Pascal, Boyle and even the recent George Lemaitre, discoverer of the ‘big bang theory’…) or protestant Church (e.g. Newton) – and much scientific literature and almost ALL institutes of higher education and research were under patronage by the Catholic [and later Anglican] Church!

Economic success in the West started with colonialism (and continued with neo-colonialism to this day)- but now is seriously declining COINCIDENTALLY with the rise of countries powerful enough to be outside Western control (e.g. india, china, Iran, brazil etc).

Correcting historical inaccuracies

1) Technological advancements were actually hindered by Religious empires. It is of no surprise that the englightenment and industrial revolution came at a time of increasing secular philosophy and declining theocratic dogma and thinking.

2) Western economic success came far before colonialism. How can you capture colonies without a military industrial complex?
The fact remains that colonialism did contribute massively to Western Economies. However, colonialism is not the majjor or only factor in Western economic success

However, the one thing I’ve noticed, is that most people claim to be skeptical only to ideas they don’t like, or which is not in line with the accepted culture or fashion of their times. Many such people even claim that they are ‘rational’ and want people to ‘think for themselves’, but really they just want people to ‘think’ their way into conformity with popular trends and the dominant fashions.

I’ve always urged Muslims to be skeptical, even of their own beliefs, in order that they can reach certainty and depart from blindly following their parents religion and culture. But unfortunately there is another culture that influences some Muslims and is blindly followed by many of them due to their inability to detach themselves from their society and time and look at the world from a rational and detached perspective – this culture is Western Culture.

This is a glaring hypocrisy.

You are complaining of muslim youth not being able to detach themselves from society and blindly following the influence of the western culture.

As a muslim, Andalusi should look no further than Pakistan and Saudi Arabia where the societal culture has turned men into misogynists and intolerant bigots. We have men defending the ban of female driving in Saudi Arabia. We have youth in Pakistan calling for the death for any non-muslim who criticizes the prophet.

Charity begins at home. At least, in western society, their islamophobia rarely ends in death- it is more of verbal abuse and sometimes work discrimination

Secularism cannot be rationally justified, because in essence it posits the absurd notion that man’s purpose in life should be separate from man’s affairs in life. Secularism then results in a materialistic re-interpretation of man’s purpose of life, and the imposition of this purpose in place of a former non-materialistic purpose – with no conclusive reason why one is superior to another. Secularism then naturally ends up being non-neutral to this central question of human purpose, while fooling the people as pretending to be neutral!

Secularism has nohthing to do with man's purpose! Secularism has nothing to do with materialism

Secularism (in the political sense) is a separation of religion and state. Modern secularism focuses on the neutrality of govt policy- away from religious bias. Furthermore, modern secularism does not judge any religion- the govt abstains from establishing or persecuting religion.

striktlymi: Complaint

Whenever a member gets a ban on nairaland, it is usually the practice for a reason to be given in his 'profile' page for any such ban, and I am of the view that when the reason given is not clear enough to him/her, the member has every right to seek an explanation in order to understand why the ban was placed in the first place.

Placing a ban of one year is very uncommon in these paths of nairaland and whenever such rare occasion props up, it is usually backed by a very sound reason. The fact that LB had sought an explanation for his ban shows that he is yet to understand the rationale behind it and it will boil down to a miscarriage of justice if his request is snubbed, hence my complaint.

Logicboy03 deserves to know the following:

1) Why he was banned.
2) The justification for his ban.
3) Why the ban had to be for one year.

If the appropriate justification cannot be provided for the above, satisfactorily, then I am left with no option than to ask that my account be banned for one year also, and this I ask with the utmost of respect for you, HBG.

Just to add to your comment.

1) HBG had already threathened to ban the life out of me- (as a result of constantly complaining that she does nothing while her sister, Ishilove derails both the xtian and non xtian chatboxes)

HumbledbYGrace: on the serious note, its that time you should just say; satan move away from me!

I am going to BAN the stupidity out of someone today.
https://www.nairaland.com/1114515/christian-chatbox-sticky/319#19127857

2) I was banned immediately Ishilove appeared on a thread that Deepsight started. I was on that thread since the inception....as soon as Ishilove appeared, I got banned

3) All she wrote was that I broke rule 2 no clarification nothing...rule 2 has 4 things it warns against. And on which thread did I break rule 2?

4) Nobody here on the religion section has been banned for up to a year. HBG should explain what I have done to warrant such a long ban.

We are waiting for HBG to respond (she has already responded by trolling with Ishilove- evidence is above)
HumbledbYGrace: Who are you?
Ishilove:
cheesy cheesy cheesy
