Politics / Peter Obi’s Redemptive And Perceived Pan-nigeria Movement. by freevami(m): 1:01pm On Jul 02, 2022
Well, I will first of all like to draw a conclusion to state clearly in my personal opinion and that of a few that I’ve interacted with. Obi without doubt is the best of the lot that are out there trying to take the Presidency by winning the 2023 general elections.
Obi is very well qualified to be the next president of Nigeria, and rightly so, he has paid his dues and proven his leadership qualities as business/boardroom guru and an executive Governor for two terms in Anambra state. His footprint in governance and effective and prudent use of government resources are evident to the Anambrarians.

Over the years, Nigeria has cried and longed for a youthful, energetic, astute, prudent, educated, workaholic leader that will pull or attempt to pull her economy, education, technology, human capital resources out of the mud and grave by redrawing our lines to prosperity.
I take a critical look at the presidential candidates of the various political parties going into the 2023 general elections, and again, I say Peter Obi is very highly placed to emerge president in an ideal society that yarns to redeem the hope of a people that have been so deprived bartered and starved of the basic needs that should be naturally provided by the government.

Realistically, Obi’s constituency and electors ought to be the hungry, unemployed, unsecured citizens of Nigeria. He’s constituency should be that of the government workers that are not paid as at when due and whose take home pay is next to nothing due to the high inflation of the economy and the valueless Naira they earn.

His constituency and voters should be made up of those that have been at home now for months due to ASUU strike. The nonsensical and nonchalant attitude of the government to the educational development of her youths and supposed leaders of tomorrow.

Obi’s constituency should be that of the market people and those in the informal sector of the economy that suffers from lack of electricity, good roads and security for their entrepreneurial activities and businesses.
Obi’s constituency should be that ordinary Nigerian that can no longer move from point “A” to “B” due to insurgency, kidnappings, killings and religious violence.

With all the above in mind, it can easily be said that Peter Obi will easily ride to the presidency in 2023 because the mass of the ordinary Nigerian who fell the pain the most will easily work for his victory. But politics and Nigerian brand of politics in particular is not as straight forward as enumerated above.

In summary, to access Obi’s redemptive and Pan-Nigerian perceptions, a critical SWOT analysis of Peter Obi and his presidential ambition should be made.
Consequently, I state below thus:

STRENGTH:
1. Obi’s strength is his vast knowledge of the economic and governance principles that will make Nigeria work. Haven worked as successful business man and boardroom giant, and his performance in politics at the executive level in governance at an executive governor and the fact that he is perceived as one of those with very little or no corruption dents is a minor strength.
2. Obi is youthful and Carrie’s some of the ideologies and aspirations of an average Nigerian youth. He is most liked by the youths. This by its self is a very major endorsement because the youth makes a very big percentage of the voting population of Nigeria in elections but they sadly never come out to vote in elections. But the seeming birth of a movement known as the “OBIDENTS” have become a very strong voice in the campaigns for Obi. The bulk of this youth are present in social media platforms and they have been able to use it to spread their love for Peter Obi.

WEAKNESS:
1. The weakness of Obi’s candidacy are hydra headed. Obi certainly seem not to have the support of the majority of his own kings-men. The strength of an Iroko tree is domiciled in its root. The south eastern Nigeria have shown over time that they never speak with one voice when it comes to political alignments. How is Obi going to contend with dominant political gladiators like Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Bola Tinubu of the APC or Musa Kwankwaso. These three persons have massive followers, and the mass of there support come from there own people.
2. Obi was bullied out of the PDP in the eve of their presidential primary. It was sad that a man that was the party’s Vice Presidential candidate in the 2019 elections was so easily pushed out of the same party and he couldn’t even put up a fight. The electorate will naturally see this as a massive weakness on Obi’s part and it will make them skeptical of give their support. Most persons feel that the reason why that happened was because of the lack of political structure on the part of Obi.
OPPORTUNITY:
1. Obi’s opportunity is the fact that he is generally seen as a good man with intend to develop and prosper the Nigerian state.
2. He is from the region of the country that have never govern at the center before.
3. There is a populous cry for power shift and a growing dissatisfaction with the present party in power and the one before.
4. Obi seem to have the mass of the workforce and the youth behind him.
5. Obi is one of the most youthful of the lot.
THREAT:

1. Election in Nigeria is unfortunately very expensive to run. You will have to make available m, bags of money to successfully run an election. Obi has shown not to be amongst “those” group of persons that have pillaged our common patrimony. Can he match the above mentioned fellow candidates in campaign funding? My answer is a big NO. But, if God be for you, who can be against you?
2. A massive threat to Obi’s candidacy is the so called political structures that must cut across the major region of the nation. Politically, Obi has no such structures.
Conclusively, I am optimistic and I will again reemphasis that Peter Obi on paper is most eminently qualified to be president in 2023. He will however need to roll up his sleeves and get to work. That work must begin from his home base.
Having a situation where religious and political leader from your region talking and intending to work against your ambition is unhealthy for his aspirations. Reference can be made to the statements of a religious leader, Father Mbaka and a political leader of note and former deputy president of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu . Both were of the believe that Peter Obi can not become the president of Nigeria

Obi’s redemptive and Pan-Nigerian perception is laudable. Can he achieve this if he becomes the president of the most populous black nation on eart? Yes he has the capacity and capabilities but as it’s stands, his attempts and chances to win the 2023 elections is only good on paper. Practically, it’s going to be difficult.
But if you have a Mighty God who owns the earth and ALL that’s in it on your side, then you can become the little muster seed that became the big oak tree or a small David that defected the giant Goliath.

Politics / Nigeria Needs More Support From China And Other Benevolent Nations. by freevami(m): 10:31am On Apr 27, 2020
We have to be very careful about making comments that are sensitive.
I am saddened by assertions by some unscrupulous Nigerians, particularly on social media that the medical supplies that the Chinese brought to Nigeria have been responsible for the steady rise in the numbers of COVID19 infested Nigerians. I assert that they are unsubstantiated and without proof.

We are facing the pandemic without adequate preparedness. The only way to no the extend of covid19 spread in Nigeria is through an effective testing system. NCDC and the government started the covid19 testing regime very poorly. As of today, the government has a testing capacity of just 1,000 persons per day. That's grossly inadequate for a nation of 200 million people. It will be nice for you to calculate the ratio of 1000:200,000,000.
The Chinese in my own assessment only came to improve our testing capacity with there testing kit donations.
There is nothing strange in China helping us out. Nigeria is of great economic interest to china.
The same China sent medical supplies and personnel to some other countries across the world including Saudi Arabia.

The sad reality is that as the testing capacity of NCDC increases, there is a likelihood of an increase in the number of positive persons symptomatic or asymptomatic.

The covid19 positive curve is still rising, and until it gets to its peak, the curve won't drop.

The only way we can mitigate against this sad reality is to religiously observe the laid down protocols by the NCDC and the government.
Of what benefit will it be for China to kill 200 million Nigerians?
