HOW PRESIDENT OBASANJO HANDLED CORRUPTION:

1. Senate President Adolphus Wabara along was Indicted and Impeached by his colleagues for allegedly partaking in 50 million Naira Bribe from the Education Minister Professor Fabian Osuji.The Education Minister Fabian Osuji was dismissed by President Olusegun Obasanjo. Wabara, Fabian Osuji along with Senators Abdulazeez Ibrahim, Emmanuel Okpede, Badamasi Maccido and Chris Adighije were manipulated in the scandal. All six were handed to ICPC for trial. Prosecution was ongoing till the end of the tenure

2. Inspector-General of Police, Mr Tafa Balogun was fired by the President when he was indicted by the EFCC for corruption to the tune of 13 billion. The Government through the EFCC went ahead to prosecute him, having him give up some properties worth 13 billion and secured a six(6) month conviction against him.

3. Governor Deprieye of Bayelsa was arrested in London in 2005 for money laundering. The Government ensured that he was impeached on his escape from jail, and he was prosecuted for looting Bayelsa. He pleaded guilty, gave up some of his properties and was convicted for two years.

4. Vice President Atiku Abubakar was indicted by the EFCC on allegation that borders on mismanagement and gross misconduct as Chairman of PTDF.

Under Obj, the fear of EFCC and ICPC was the begining of "SAY NO TO CORRUPTION"

HOW JONATHAN HANDLES CORRUPTION:

1. Pardoned exConvict and Felon Alamesigha

2. Shielded Stella Odua Only to tell her "Go In Peace" despite the N255 million indictment on the two Bullet proof cars

3. No Conviction has been secured against any former Official. In Fact, Daniel, Akala, Bankole, Tafida etc are given clean bill of health.

4. Corruption case that was instituted by Yar Adua was withdrawn against Fani Kayode

5. Corruption Case that was instituted by Obasanjo was withdrawn against Muhammed Abacha

6. Farouk Lawan is still smiling in the green chamber, despite the clear evidence of bribery. The Subsidy indicted people are smiling daily

7. exConvict Bode George who was prosecuted by Yaradua got a "miraculous" clean bill of health under this administration

8. Diezani Maduekwe is running from court to court just to evade questioning from House of Reps on allegation bordering on corruption.

The EFCC and ICPC under this administration is neither a biting nor a barking dog.

This is happening at the same Boko Haram is shelling Adamawa state's second largest city, Mubi killing many residents and setting ablaze all government buildings.

My question is: Between Tambuwal's defection to the APC and the Mubi situation, which one requires the president to summon an emergency meeting? Please let's be sincere to ourselves!

Where Is Our Money-?

We all remember what happened last year when CBN governor alleged NNPC and FG of non-remittace of petroleum sales.

Minister of finance admitted, after all arguments, counter-arguments, reconciliation , etc that $10.8 was unaccounted for. The CBN governor said it was $20b.

The question is whether $20b or $10.8b, where is the money?

In February 2014, PWC was called to do independent audit and since then we have not seen or heard any thing on the sum.

As a qualified accountant, you don't need more than a week or two to audit an account but let us assume the volume is much, one month should be enough. The audit has taken more than 6 months now.
Where is our money ?

THE FACTS ABOUT THE OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER OF THE FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE

1. It is only the members of the Federal House of Representatives that have the right, obligation and responsibility to elect the speaker of the House of Rep.

2. It is only the members of the Federal House of
Representative that has the constitutional right to impeach the Speaker of the Federal House of Representative by a 2/3 majority vote if they become dissatisfied with him/her.

3. It is only a court of competent jurisdiction that can declare the seat of any member of the Federal House of Representative vacant.

4. In the last one year, over 50 members of the Federal House of Representatives have defected to new political parties including the PDP and no court in Nigeria has declared their seats vacant

5. There is no rule or order in the Federal House of Assembly that states that the speaker of the House must be from the party in control of the federal government or from the party that has the majority in the house. The constitution only stated that the speaker must be elected by majority of the members of the house of representatives

6. The President, IGP or the PDP has no powers whatsoever under any law or pretense to declare the seat of an elected Speaker or any member of the House of Assembly Vacant.

7. The Constitution clearly stated that a legislator of elected executive can defect to another political party only if there is a faction in the political party that sponsored him or if a part of the party that sponsored him is involved in a merger with another political party.

8. Some house of representative members from other political parties have decamped to the PDP over the last one year and their seats have not been declared vacant

9. Gov Olusegun Mimiko recently decamped to the PDP and his seat was not declared vacant, but PDP is seeking to declare the seat of Gov Amaechi and others vacant.

10. Right Honorable Aminu Tambuwal remains the authentic and only speaker of the Federal House of Representative in Nigeria and he is an APC member. PDP and Mr President should adjust to the fact that PDP is soon becoming a minority party and will end up an opposition party come 2015. The ball was in their court for 15yrs and they messed governance up. They have themselves to blame.
