Nairaland General › Re: Sheraton Hotel Ikeja Roof Collapse by Freiburger(mod): 11:49pm On Mar 27, 2013
gistyinka: One of Nigeria most respectful 5 star hotel Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja area Roof Collapse this afternoon.

The attendees had to move to a separate part of the room, but less than a minute later, the roof caved in and guests had to rush out of the conference room out of fear...

The attendees complained that no management of Sheraton came out to apologise to the guests, that they were more concerned about guests not taking pictures but a LIBer managed to take a few and sent it in. See another photo after the cut...

Celebrities › Re: Dbanj Parties With Big Sean As He Celebrates 25th Birthday In LA by Freiburger(m):
pappilo: Do you expect him to just get to America and start competing with A listers immediately. He has to learn the tricks of the trade in a foreign land.
That's what a lot of guyz here don't understand.
Imagine if he has sold all these multi platinum albums in the us, some folks just want him to sit back and let these hits die. and the rest as pirated CDs in the hands of steet hawkers.
D Banj has sold more albums than Big Sean, and j cole, wiz khalifa, combined, but there he is, being critized by his fellow Nigerins calling him a failure coz he is on the course of innovation. One more time, i rather fight to be a world best than fighting to be Nigeria's best in whatever i'm doing. F**K bigotry.

eastOFwest: No single artiste anywhere will take African music far. It's the club and radio DJ's that push music in the USA. Yes, dbanj can take dbanj's music far, just like Femi kuti has taken Femi kuti's music far. But it doesn't do anything for African music if the DJ's Aint spinning it just like they pushed "Oliver twist" in the uk and it became popular even before people knew who dbanj was.
That's his own decision and none of your comments here can influence that. You all can predict how he will not do well in the US, but don't forget this, whom God has blessed no man can curse.
Celebrities › Re: Dbanj Parties With Big Sean As He Celebrates 25th Birthday In LA by Freiburger(m):
dbride: That is the point. The earlier Dbanj drops that pride, his eyes will see clearer pictures of him trying to self destruct. This man Dbanj knows the truth but PRIDE wants to ruin him. I am a fan and I pray he listens.
cheesy cheesy cheesy Taking it futher now leads to self destruction, i wonder where you guz are getting your education from.

Afam4eva: In the case of D'Banj, it's not about rubbing minds but about leaving Nigeria to go create a name for himself in America.
So what is wrong in that kind of self confidence? if he believes he can do it, so be it. Won't you be proud of him someday when he takes the African music that far?
Celebrities › Re: Dbanj Parties With Big Sean As He Celebrates 25th Birthday In LA by Freiburger(m): 7:42pm On Mar 27, 2013
doppler777: Gbam!!!!!!! you are right on point, need I say more.Black American always feels superior,no matter what..whereas they r piece of sh..eit,NO CULTURE,NO TRADITION,LACK OF ALMOST EVERYTHING
Why are you crying as if you were in that room when the picture was taken?
Celebrities › Re: Dbanj Parties With Big Sean As He Celebrates 25th Birthday In LA by Freiburger(m):
Afam4eva: Pls tell us how Dangote explored further. What exactly did he do that's similar to what D'Banj is doing.
I got your point on the fact that we Africans can do more on our own innovations, but what is wrong with cross capreting and robbing minds with others bro?
Celebrities › Re: Dbanj Parties With Big Sean As He Celebrates 25th Birthday In LA by Freiburger(m): 7:22pm On Mar 27, 2013
Afam4eva: D'Banj wasn't a local champion. He was a Nigerian artiste that is known beyond the shores of Africa. It's silly to abdicate that to be following C-list American artistes about. He should have consolidated on his popularity in Africa instead of becoming a relative nonentity elsewhere. History will be there to judge him and a lot of other artiste will learn from his mistakes.
This post should answer that:
Freiburger: Look, most of the Nigerian artists's recording techniques were copied from the west. . D banj aint no sl0wpoke, there are lot to be explored from these Guys and the west o.k?
Will you disown him for hanging out them?
Celebrities › Re: Dbanj Parties With Big Sean As He Celebrates 25th Birthday In LA by Freiburger(m): 7:09pm On Mar 27, 2013
50calibre: Exactly! It's garbage to you because it's something you can't fathom. Theory of relativity or evolution is garbage to some people
We can have a real debate on this, only if you're ready to calm yourself down.

Celebrities › Re: Dbanj Parties With Big Sean As He Celebrates 25th Birthday In LA by Freiburger(m): 7:03pm On Mar 27, 2013
dbride: Dbanj surely moved too fast to the left. Yes, 9ja is going through hard times regarding leadership but even in these dark times, God is showcasing talents and some positive things are developing fast for us. In spite of everything bad, Nigeria is the next happening place when we talk about entertainment. So I ask, why leave 9ja for the US if you are in that industry? Americans should be looking for us not the other way round.
Look, most of the Nigerian artists's recording techniques were copied from the west, i can't get your point saying he moved too fast to the left. D banj aint no sl0wpoke, there are lot to be explored from these Guys and the west o.k?

50calibre: Ok! First and foremost, dbanj is worth more than $3m secondly before you make illogical comparisons, you have to know there are factors to be considered. Dbanj made millions in Nigeria, a poor country where more than 60% of its population live below the poverty line, it's currency it's pretty weak compared to other currencies, the level if piracy is high because of lack of government regulation. Compared to the standard of living in Nigeria, Dbanj is an A-list big time.

Whereas big Sean mad a few million dollars which in America is insignificant, a country with a much stronger currency, proper protection of intellectual property, vast opportunities. he isn't even in the first 100 of wealthiest music artists. So you don't even know what you are talking about.

You think you are have an advanced thinking while others have Stone Age thinking, but in actuality you ain't even half as smart as you think you are, as a matter of fact you ain't even intelligent
The argument/debate here is, if it is right or wrong when D banj hangs out with Sean and others, how does this whole garbages equates to that?

50calibre: True talk, it's better to be a king in the jungle than a dog in the city. Dbanj an A-list celebrity in Africa hanging out with a C-list American artist.
Point of correction, D banj's net worth is not more than $3M, Big Sean has a much highier net worth, If the is your yardstick. what's the big deal hanging out him. you guyz better quit these kind of stone age comments.

Car Talk › Re: Why So Many Road Bumbs On Federal/state Roads? by Freiburger(m): 5:52pm On Mar 27, 2013
Gluckdude: Most times when i travel, i come across various road bumbs, but of recent, this silly trend is really adding up, even on major highway, when u are cruising on 130km\hr u suddenly notice an unusual bumb just a few metres away.

just because i'm about to approach a round about, doesnt mean i have to drive thru as much as 15 subsequent bumbs.
I thought the idea of bumbs was just to make a driver decrease his speed, but having 15 bumbs at just one point, is really outraguos and stuupid.
Just wondering if i'm the only one who has come accross this annoying trend.
Cruise on a 2014 Range Rover Sport on these roads, you wont notice anything grin grin grin
