Dam5reey: Get QASA AC/DC, it's the best, it goes from 1 to 9.. 4watts to 65watts. most time you'll use 4 to 6 that only 12wats to 25watts. 7 8 9 are on another level.. consumes 36w, 45 and 65watts but omo, you don't want to use those always. I use 2 or 3 for all day just for continued ventilation which is good enough 7 and 10 watts I shared a picture here some time ago of the power consumption by Levels. I can't find the pictures now.
Updated: I found the post. 1 - 3w 2 - 5w 3 - 8w 4 - 14w 5 - 18w 6 - 27W 7 - 35w 8 - 45w 9 - 65w This?

wolement: I have one tabular battery 200watt solar and 1kva inverter. For like six months now I have not run out of power. I use 100 watt, 60 watt laptop most times during the day. Then at night only laptop till I go to bed. Its worth it. Zero regrets. What battery are you using |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Fremlin: 1:04am On Feb 19, 2024 |
bassdow: A single 300Watts solar panel would do. And starting with a 300Watts solar panel paves way for easy upgrade of solar Panels in the future as you just add more Solar panels of same wattage.
You didn't state if your 100AH batttery is Dry/Wet acid battery or Lithium: because if it's not Lithium battery, the lowest you can run it without negatively making the battery cry is 50% which translates to 50AH. in practice, should a client require 100AH battery for their load, I suggest them 200AH; should they require 50AH, I recommend 100AH.
it's called the 50% rule BUT you know what, if possible, don't even allow the battery go lower than 20%.
Another thing is, most of those external battery chargers do a very bad work of correctly charging the battery so much so that soonerThanLater, that battery go die. e fit get beller join sef.
Would suggest buying a cheap PWM charge controller, and pair it between the battery, and your battery charger. haven't done this myself but it was an idea that got into my head, I suggested it in here, and someone confirmed it works.
At end of the day, it's just so much cheaper relying on solar panels, that other ways to reCharge your batteries. You even enjoy the sun during the day, while others complain. Between dry cell and wet cell which is better |

Trippledots: Panel or inverter, and that's if you have the design sorted out already. Yea.. already got my design, you know any trusted vendor I can get panel and inverter here on nairaland? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Fremlin: 11:25am On Feb 18, 2024 |
Trippledots: I think you should start by having an optimally designed system, then if you are buying in bits, except for a lithium battery pack, battery should be bought close to when you are ready to install. So starting with a panel is best then |

Good day all, so I have decided to take a step on acquiring solar.
I want to start with buying a 200ah, 12v tabular battery, where can I get a good one? |

bassdow:
1pcs 100AH battery (or 200AH preferably) 1pcs (or 2pcs if buying 200AH battery) 300Watts solar panel 1pcs cheap PWM chargeController 1pcs inverter. This could be optional if your load permits it, and you know your way around.
NB: 1. you could buy fairly USED items to keep costs lower. If you must buy USED battery, e nsure it's still usAble 2. Also never compromize on battery quality else you would spend more trying to save money
Ordinarily, could have suggested Lithium batteries since they're more portable, and their weight relative to amperage is better but buying quality lithium cells ain't easy in this part of the world. You need rely on the dealer to be honest enough.
Now when last were you honest with others when money is involved ? Then ask yourself how likely is a seller/dealer going to be honest with you in this times. Ordering some of these things via AliExpress would be nice, don't you think? |

bassdow: NOPE
Just go with what I said. Buy them and install yourself, except you are out camping, or need something very mobile.
Despite their high costs, the constituents ain't upgradeAble, and are often/mostly of low quality.
AfterSales support nkor ? They want you continue spending, nothing more. The zeal drops the moment they get your initial money.
Don't know whom you are, nor genuiness of your questions, BUT if in need of solar power, just buy like suggested. Leave the box for elderly people who ain't informed. Those sellers makes money, real money selling to the unInformed people, after making it look several times cost effective and better.
Experience, they say is the best teacher, but most times, experience comes at a cost. Even when you later realize it, they make it look like it's your fault things didn't live up to their words. They try to make you buy another, and you just might agree, believeing now you know better, hence the new one wouldn't suffer same fate. At end of the day, they're the WINner, you the Continious LOOSEr. Wow, thanks brother A friend suggested me buying them myself but the cost he mentioned was high |

bassdow: Don't know what other way to say it.
Once again, buying ready made portable powerBanks in form of Solar and what's not, is much more expensive (both in short & long run) than just buying Battery, Solar panels, inverter and chargeController. For someone that wants to power just laptop, charge phone, some bulbs How much do you think I should budget for this |
