sleek214: It sad how we keep going over this police report of a thing. The National Assembly has passed a Bill that allows hospitals to attend to gunshot injury and other life threatening injuries whilst waiting for a police report But Doctors and Hospitals are still rejecting patients..... I think the problem is not the system but the people, we are annoyingly strange in this part of the world. Aswear! Untill we start jailing some doctors or closed down hospitals for neglecting their primary duty it won't stop! I kept saying an average Nigerian is a reflection of the leaders we have at the centre. Celestialsword: men should take care of themselves, because many men struggled and laboured for the family upkeep and they didn't get the rewards
They were stressed up and most of them died before their wives.
When the man has passed on, those he left behind will still survive and become somebody in life.
The Irony of it all ,is that it's the woman that now enjoy the fruits of the man's labour.
So,men should wise up and always take care of yourself, when the load is too heavy, please drop it. The one who goes to the hospital for check up and the one who couldn't afford a check up when the time is right all will die. We've seen men who lived way beyond the death of their wives does it mean those women worked themselves to death? Make una Sabi talk for mouth abeg. |

Also ask yourself why we had a Muslim-muslim ticket last time and likely again in 2027. Ask yourself why Deborah was burnt alive and nobody was prosecuted for it despite video evidence. In a sane country, Akintola would have been arrested and charged to court for all his inflammatory remarks over the years Any time I see Deborah's issue whenever we are discussing issues totally unrelated to her case I feel the person speaking is deliberately being mischievous or just totally ignorant about how to place issues. We Africans still have a long way to go. So, dressing half naked is borrowing the right culture? The best performances I have seen from Nigerian U-21s are in 1989 (Christopher Ohehen set) and 2005 ( Mikel Obi set) which has a lot of people disappointed when you consider the expectations on a country that had won the U17 World Cup 5 times and more than any nation on earth..it is disappointing Your obviously don't know anything about U 20. Botragelad: First off, "Palestine" is a fake identity, not a real thing. You’re out here crying on every post instead of reading up, proving you’ve got zero clue. Did Hamas hit Israel on October 7 or nah? Simple question.
By your logic, if Hamas accuses Israel of using human shields (which they do all the time), does that mean they’re admitting to strapping rockets to school buses or "civilian" homes? We’ve been over this, Hamas literally turns hospitals into war zones with command centers and ammo dumps. Where was your outrage then? Meanwhile, Israel reviews its mistakes (even the weird ones), while Hamas stages drama and propaganda next to nurseries, dressed as medics. Spot a “civilian” with a shady bulge under their jacket, what’s a soldier supposed to do?
Cry all you want, it changes nothing. Just thought I’d shut down the noise. God punish you ! I don't usually do this o! But God punish you again! Politics › Re: TVC Celebrates Babajide Kolade-otitoju After Clash With Rufai Oseni by Friend22(m): 11:43pm On Apr 07, 2025 |
papyjaypaul: Hnmmm. Stephen Sackur. You bring back memories. But do you know he and Mehdi have opposition? I don't think everyone can like us and as an adult, you should choose to see issues for what they are for every man has a bias. Obasanjo once tackled Sackur for his questioning style, "can you talk to Tony Blair like that?" Also because we are in Africa, respect does not make us go hard like that except you are old as a journalist. Amanpour made a mess of Jonathan when he succumbed himself to that style
and this now makes me talk about Rufai/BKO.
BKO, before Buhari came in talked so much about MI 35 and fighter jets just because he is familiar with the North, was invited by the NAF on a tour and has some Intel. Okay, MI 35 came, did that end BH? Why am I doing this? He can be overconfident on his position and Intel. The domineering attitude makes it difficult to listen to the other sides. I think TVC got the complaints or/and they wanted to promote him, that's why they created Issues With BKO. That is his platform where he can talk, talk and talk because if he is left with others, he doesn't respect his role as an analyst. I watched him recently with Usen Jones and he was doing the questioning of the Rivers woman. Oga, everyone has their role. The anchor should be respected and other guests should be allowed to talk. This is the same thing with Rufai. He tries to convince guests of his position, asks long-winded questions and goes into unnecessary background stories before asking questions. I the viewer wants to hear from the guest, there's a place for you to give your POV, don't waste crucial airtime trying to convince your guest or make them look small because their POV sounds absurd to you. BKO was on the panel that interviewed Soludo, along with Abati. There is a reason Abati takes the lead in most of these things but you need to understand that the demography is changing. Young people today don't like those who pander or gift soft landing. While Rufai sometimes does it overboard (almost hounding his guests), the questions have their usefulness. That's what people want to listen to. People are not interested in PR of the guests so Rufai tries to get the juice from them but he can be naive when he asks guests to provide evidence, a request Professor Bolaji kindly schooled him on. People talk in innuendos and they don't need to provide facts on air the way they do on social media but if you ask your questions well, they will counter themselves and give that answer you are looking for. Once you make them defensive, you have lost the juice.
Does Nigeria have the Steve Sackur styled journalist? Edmund Obilo comes near to it. Seun is also good with questioning style. You can see the difference between Natasha's interview on Channels and Arise. Also, Charles is a rare gem of Arise. Look at this interview of Charles interviewing Babangida when he was in BBC.
A journalist who is an analyst often finds it difficult to wear the cap of an interviewer. We have journalists today who are like podcast hosts, they are more interested in their voices than the guest. They also don't know how to summarize their thoughts and ask brief questions. It's something Arise does where they ask 1-3 questions and expect the guest to remember all. You have provided an escape room for them to avoid some questions.
Did I say what I like about BKO? He has good Intel, history and contexts but if you are old enough to read between the lines, his partisanship is obvious.
It is rare to find an analyst who is independent and who is objective. Sometimes, we don't know what is in their belly. That is why many people have been disappointed in the columnists who later worked for politicians because people saw that they were doing the criticisms for attention and future employment I like your response. It's quite enriching and revealing, but as humans we must understand everyone has limitations - You can't know everything about everyone and all I never said BKO is an alpha or omega of broadcasting industry, no! I was only making reference to his style of analysis with hard facts he presents not just because he works for Tinubu's station (like the widely perceive notion) of his traducers. I have watched and listened to his views on so many issues I did not sense bias neither did I sense any sentiments. I am too old enough to not see through the lies and sleaze of any journalists. BKO is the least of them bunch to do that; I should be defending him? No, not really, I only see a forth right man who loves his country that's all not one who supports politicians. The problem I have with some of us is we expect every one in the media profession to lambast government at any given time even if there are reason(s) not to. |

papyjaypaul: Every controversy increases media views, good for both stations.
Otitoju is a Tinubu lackey and Rufai gets too emotional but they have their good sides. Otitoju has contexts and stories while Rufai asks the hard hitting questions viewers want to be asked. Both of them like to listen to themselves and ironically, they both have their shows on TV and radio.
No one is perfect so take why you want from them. Otitoju is a mini Tinubu spokesperson while Rufai is a mini masses spokesperson. Good luck to them. The reason why I will keep vouching for BKO because he has been there and done that,he doesn't need prove who he is or what he can do; that run-off-the-mill journalist who this confused generation want to think is the best thing after Stephen Sackur or Mehdi Hassan is just a noise maker who only impresses unexposed gullible louts . Lets be honest he does not ask any stupid hard hitting questions ,only gullible people thinks he ask hard hitting questions. The only guy capable of doing that or something close to that is Seun Okinbaloye of ChannelsTV. |
