blame corruption. its a bad situation. govt get refineries and dem no allow them to work for years. they were playing a waiting game. MrEverest: It doesn’t work like that. Understand the issues first. Tinubu and some people in his government are part of the whole scam. They’re paying X amount of money for subsidy secretly to their own cartels so they could have monopoly in importing petroleum products. Even if Dangote should crash prices, they would only dip hands into the vault and collect more funds to pay for the increased difference. At the end only Dangote loses because the money the rogue politicians are using to subsidize isn’t their own, but belongs to Nigeria.
If Tinubu isn’t such a useless criminal, this is what an executive order can easily enforce. If they can mandate local content in the past, why not local supply to Dangote?
This country is nothing but the world’s largest crime scene! |

he is trying to take business away from them by force. these deals nnpc go don sign am long ago. the problem is NNPC. dey should have fixed the refineries long ago iichidodo: If Dangote wants to screw these importers who have deep connection with those in the corridors of power, then he should just crash the price of petrol and diesel far below the cost of importing.....Yeah, he will make losses, but it's an efficient way of fumigating those cockroaches... |

NMDPRA just expose am. e say e get 45% completion. refinery is not ready yet okoloto: Farouk won't talk if it is not true. If the fuel is inferior, how would you know as an end user? It is the responsibility of the regulatory authority to alert the public and which farouk has done. What do we have to say about building collapse happening in the country. Nobody blames the cement used but only maybe the contractors. We should not whip sentiment in everything. We expect dangote to prove farouk wrong but not whip sentiment. |

cardoso and edun are more serious professionals professorPABX: Let us start with the $100 million paid for the land first before discussion on wether the land is cheap or not. Remember, Dangote Refinery carried out sandfilling to recover more land. Lagos State Government should explain to us about this money. The ELEMORO FAMILY of IBEJU Land and other families in Ibeju land should ask questions about developmental projects executed for the people from this money. Senator Gbenga Bareehu Ashafa should explain to IBEJU people the deals that transpired before the Land was sold to Dangote. IBEJU youths and generations unborn will still ask questions. |
Business › Re: Dangote Refinery: We Paid Lagos State $100m For Land, FG Gave Us No Incentive by frog12: 9:04pm On Jul 21, 2024 |
At the end, NNPC share may become 2% as Tinubu, Cardoso and Edun can never play ball as it was under Buhari:but if it becomes 2%, we have been shortchanged be dat. it was supposed to be 20%. $100 million for the land is too cheap. that means dangote owns 7 times the size of VI. all to one man! professorPABX: It is good that Tinubu is the President and we have Cardoso as CBN Governor and Wale Edun as Finance Minister. So many hidden things that have not allowed concrete decision to be taken by South West elites will now be made open. When special investigator was appointed to probe CBN operations under Emefiele, I know so many things would be revealed.
The way Kogi State Government shares in Obajana Factory diminished to zero is the same way NNPC's share of 20% diminished to less than 10% and may eventually reduced to 2% or nothing. It is very easy when Dangote is dealing with full time politicians but it may be difficult to accept when with politicians that understand business and economy.
All the incentives given to Dangote by FG with loans to be paid by Nigeria is now zero. Thanks God, naira is now floated. My last write-up on Dangote Refinery few weeks ago, I said I am confused and I don't know what is happening again. I said I became confused when he said he has almost settled all the loans taken to build the refinery when the refinery is yet to fully takeoff. I said I suspect Nigeria has been shortchanged. Something went wrong somewhere. I said for Dangote to have visited Tinubu with his mother and the eldest Dantata an old man last year, it means something.
Despite all the sacrifices and hope Nigeria has placed on this refinery, at the end, the owner said Nigeria has no stake in it. He is the one in charge, he determines how much has been committed to the project to determine the percentage of NNPC shares. All dollars incentives and windfalls from CBN are nothing now at this stage. At the end, NNPC share may become 2% as Tinubu, Cardoso and Edun can never play ball as it was under Buhari.
On the $100 millions paid for the land to Lagos State, the Lagos State House of Assembly should let us know about this money. The Elemoro family of Ibeju and other families in Ibeju should demand to know what developmental projects have been executed for the people by Lagos State Government. Fashola, Ambode and Sanwoolu should tell us about this money.
I am coming back to Ogun State Government later about Dangote Factory at Ibeshe and the new one under construction at Itori. How much was paid to Ogun State Government? |
