Sports / Maldini Says "No" To AC Milan's Offer As Technical Director, Explains Why by FTScores: 7:47pm On Oct 11, 2016
After unconfirmed reports which said Paolo Maldini rejected Milan’s offer to become the Technical Director of the “New” Chinese Milan, the Rossoneri legend has now confirmed – via a press release the reasons why he turned down the offer.

“Milan has always been a matter of heart and passion for me,” Maldini begins.

[b]“My history, my father’s history and my children prove it, and no-one can take this bond with the Rossoneri colours away from us.

“This very strong link obligates me to be careful, precise and professional in accepting a job I’m offered.

“Of course, it would have been much easier to go along with the excitement of the offer and say ‘yes’, diving headlong into this new adventure without considering the potential consequences but no, I can’t do that.

“I have to respect the values I have carried with me throughout my life, I have to respect the many fans who, over the years, have identified in me a passion, will and seriousness – I have to respect Milan and myself.

“I’d like to clarify certain concepts to the Milan fans and the Press, which gathered and reported news that the substance of the matter was the financial aspect, forgetting that I and my family have always felt a sense of belonging to Milan.

“Salary was always a consequence of an agreement, never the cause.

“This news, among other things, has been put forward by ‘anonymous’ sources, across channels and people I’ve known for 30 years, aiming to discredit me as a person to justify the failure to find an agreement.

“I didn’t put forward any financial demands, I reiterated at our first meeting that the definition of my role would be the basic key to any possible collaboration.

“How could I judge an offer when the responsibilities hadn’t been set out?

“I pointed out that I’d give my all to a serious project, but I’d never accept being used as merely a symbol. I repeat, for me Milan is a choice of the heart.

“I never asked for a ‘Galliani role’, i.e a CEO with full power. I know what my virtues are, but I know my limitations even better – my area of expertise had to be the sporting side.

“I was offered the role of Technical Director, before that a sporting director [Massimo Mirabelli] would be hired with the faith of the CEO then, according to the organisational chart that was presented to me, I was share any project, purchase or sale of a player with my sporting director peer.

“My specific question was about what would happen if we disagreed, and [CEO Marco] Fassone told me he would decide.

“I told him I didn’t think that was the basis for a winning team. I’ve been part of teams which have made football history, and I know that to achieve results there has to be great synergy between all the corporate bodies and major investors, in addition to well-defined roles.

“The last few seasons where Milan have had joint-CEOs [Adriano Galliani and Barbara Berlusconi] should have been a lesson.

“Of course, I’d have had to take – in the eyes of the fans, the Press and the ownership – the entire responsibility for the sporting side of things, potentially without having any executive power.

“I never asked for direct contact with the ownership to bypass the CEO, I just expressed a wish to hear from Mr David Han Li, Executive Director of Sino Europe Sports.

“I only wanted to meet with him for a few minutes, to hear what they expected from me and I wanted to hear in his own voice the goals we’d set ourselves and the investments they planned to make.

“I think it’s a serious request that any professional has the right to speak with his own employer, especially when you look back on a past like mine with the club, the fact of my belonging and credibility.

“I hope these few lines have clarified my position. The bitterness remains from these days, for a dream which has vanished, leaving behind controversies that I’m certainly not happy about.

“I defend the right of the people in charge of important clubs like Milan to choose their employees based on the criteria they deem appropriate, I’d do the same thing in their position.

“But I also reiterate that my values and my independent thought will always be more important to me than any job.”[/b]

According to reports, new CEO, Fassone will be meeting with the Chinese investors – who are in the process of acquiring AC Milan in a few days time to discuss Paolo Maldini’s decision.

Guardiola -A classic "Witch" from the village. grin
Sports / "Many People Don't Like Him" - Seluk Slams Guardiola Over Yaya Toure, Again by FTScores: 1:27pm On Sep 25, 2016
Agent Dimitri Seluk who represents Yaya Toure has launched another verbal attack on Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, urging the club to intervene.

Weeks ago, Seluk slammed Pep for leaving his Toure out of club's Champions League squad forcing Guardiola to demand an apology from the agent and his client over the remarks.

Rather than feel sorry, Seluk went on a verbal rampage against Pep - insisting the coach has a poor personality before adding that City club owners, Sheikh Mansour and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak must act by telling him: 'Yaya is our family' .

"It is not correct to do that. It is not correct to give up on a top-class player. But this is his decision - he is a good coach but his personality is s***. Seluk said.

"If Yaya is on the field or not, everyone will ask, 'What is this decision from Guardiola?' Normally a person cannot make a decision like this."

[b]"And it is England, not North Korea or Afghanistan - so people will discuss whether it is right and they will have their opinions. It is necessary to remember that Yaya, when he was in Barcelona, played as a defender and they won against Man United [in the 2009 Champions League final]."

"It is very strange. All supporters like Guardiola but my opinion is that supporters also see that Yaya gave City a lot. They won the title two times with him and won cups. We'll see what Pep does. Many people don't understand how it is possible to do what he has done with players."

"He has a contract until June and he will stay. If they want him to leave they must make a conversation with me and then it is if we agree, " [/b]continued Seluk before launching an attack on Pep's personality.

"Okay, Guardiola has won matches this season, so everyone must only see his fantastic football. But his personality is far from great. I repeat the message from everywhere that he has been from Barcelona to Bayern Munich. Many people don't like him."

"When Yaya came to the club they spent only £20 million on players, not Guardiola who comes and buys three or four big signings - maybe he'll spend £1 billion on players. After that he will say it is very difficult and £1bn is not enough. If he comes to West Brom would he win the title?"

"[Claudio] Ranieri, [Ronald] Koeman and [Mauricio] Pochettino show what is possible with less money. It is more easy with half a billion pounds."

With such strong words coming from Seluk, it appears Yaya's days are over at Manchester City - as long as Pep Guardiola remains the boss.

After picking up a groin muscle injury during Barcelona’s match against Atletico Madrid, Lionel Messi may be set to return fully against Manchester City next month.

The Argentine number 10 has been ruled out for three weeks but hopes to be on the starting line-up when Barcelona take on Manchester City in the Champions League match on Wednesday, October 19.

Sports / Despite Two Consecutive Defeats Mourinho Calls Squad " Very Good Guys" by FTScores: 3:03pm On Sep 17, 2016
After two consecutive defeats , Jose Mourinho has acknowledged it won’t be easy to bounce back to winning ways when Manchester United visit Watford tomorrow.

Manchester United were beaten by City rivals, Manchester City last Saturday and then they lost to Feyenoord at an Europa League match on Thursday (September 15, 2016).

Speaking at a post-match press conference in Rotterdam, Jose Mourinho described his players as "very good guys" while also praising their willingness to work hard in difficult circumstances.

“You win matches and people are happy and full of confidence,” he said.

“You lose matches then people are sad and they feel it. That is the normal nature of football players. I am here to try to stop them from being in a negative mood because we lost two matches. They were two matches where we didn’t play well for 90 minutes but they were two matches where we deserved a better result."

“I don’t think it will be easy [to bounce back] but the game will be independent. It is a new event, it is another match, it starts at minute zero and so I think it has nothing to do with the two previous matches." Mou said about the upcoming match against Watford on Sunday.

“Obviously when you lose matches then the mood and feeling is not the same. That is normal, but we are experienced people and the players are very good guys. I know they want to win, they want to work and that is what we have to do.”

United is expected to come out with a very strong line-up on Sunday which will see Wayne Rooney return to the squad after being left out against Feyenoord on Thursday. Pogba who has been at the blunt end of internet meme's for not living up to his price-tag is also expected to start against Watford.

The match kicks off at 12:00PM WAT at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Sports / AC Milan To Take Fabregas On Loan by FTScores: 8:46pm On Sep 14, 2016
According to The Guardian, Cesc Fabregas will be loaned to Milan in January for €3m with a buy-out clause which allows Milan exercise an option to sign him permanently.

Fabregas, has lost his place in Chelsea's starting XI as new coach, Antonio Conte does not consider him part of his long term project. Despite an interest from Serie A rivals, Juventus, it was said that Milan have already reached a verbal agreement to loan the midfielder in January 2017.

Fabregas has appeared twice for Chelsea in the premier League this season.

In other related news, Thiago Silva’s contract talks with Paris Saint-Germain broke down and rumors have it that the Brazilian defender may return to Milan in 2017.

The iconic defender who departed along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2012 once told Sky Sport Italia that he hopes to Follow kaka's footsteps by returning to Milan someday.

"I hope to follow Kaka's footsteps by one day, even if not right now, coming back to Milan" - Thiago Silva

It appears the day may no longer be too far away as his negotiations for a renewal have reportedly hit problems. Brazilian media, UOL, claims Milan are interested in bringing Thiago Silva back to San Siro after his €42m sale years ago was made in other to balance the "books".

Milan have a number of talented defenders in their ranks but are looking for an experienced player such as Thiago Silva to play 'teacher' to the young and inexperienced ones such as Romagnoli.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / PSG Vs Arsenal - Champions League Preview by FTScores: 3:16pm On Sep 13, 2016
Despite struggling at France's domestic Ligue 1, PSG is hoping to upset Arsenal's qualification dreams in a Group A Champions League match which comes up later today.

PSG's coach, Unai Emery is yet to find the right combination at the club which appears to be have been destabilized by the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, his success at European level with Sevilla, after delivering three consecutive UEFA Cup titles to the Spanish club will surely count.

Emery is keen to involve Thiago Silva, who has not played for his club since a pre-season friendly against Real Madrid due to injury.
"Big matches are for big players," he said.

"We will decide after the final training session. We will see how he feels. The most important thing is if he feels ready. He is a big player. If he feels good, it is a possibility."

On the other hand, Wenger is expecting a huge task ahead as he hopes to lead Arsenal into the last 16 of the Champions League for the 17th consecutive season.

"I think PSG were missing a number of players (in recent games)," Wenger said.

"They had certain players who joined up a bit later, like us. Similar problems to the ones we face, but we'll see.

"I think they missed a number of players at the back. They were at the same hotel as us in Los Angeles and Thiago Silva got injured there. He's an important player for them.

"But they're clearly superior in the domestic league, so I expect a slightly different PSG in the Champions League."

From reports Wenger is likely to lead his team on the field with a 4-2-3-1 formation on paper. Oliver Giroud is expected to be alone upfront - hoping to pounce on any loose ball and cause PSG's defense problems. On the other hand, PSG's Unai Emery will be going for an attacking formation; 4-3-3 - which may see Edison Cavani, Di Maria and Lucas Moura in attack.

The game kicks off at the Parc des Princes stadium at exactly 7:45 PM (WAT) in the Paris.

Sports / Gabriel Barbosa - Barcelona Declare War Over Player's Transfer To Inter Milan by FTScores: 11:34pm On Sep 06, 2016
Angered over Gabriel Barbosa's sale to Inter Milan by Santos, Barcelona are now considering taking action against the Brazilian club.
The striker joined Inter Milan despite a transfer agreement signed by Barcelona and Santos in 2013 for their right to have first refusal for the player.

According to Marca, Brazilian website, UOL Esporte published a letter dated August 29 , 2016 (two days before the 2016/17 transfer window closed) signed by Santos informing Barcelona of its intent to sell Barbosa for 29.5 million Euros. Barcelona feel the time wasn't enough to allow the club negotiate and come up with a better offer for the striker.

Club president, Josep Maria Bartomeu announced in a radio interview yesterday night (September 5, 2016) that they are studying whether to file a report to FIFA or take action through the courts against Santos.

Known for his prolific goal scoring ability, Gabriel Barbosa was nicknamed Gabigol. Barbosa has been dubbed the "next Neymar" by the media.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Football Agent, Dimitri Seluk Blasts Pep Over Yaya Toure by FTScores: 8:01pm On Sep 04, 2016
Yaya Toure's representative, Dimitri Seluk has taken a swipe at Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola for leaving his client out of City's Champions League squad.

Seluk accused Guardiola of humiliating his client, suggesting that the City coach has a hidden agenda dating back to the time the pair worked together at Barcelona.

"It is the decision of Pep and must be respected," Seluk told the Daily Mirror.

"If Manchester City win the Champions League then I will travel to London and say before the television cameras that Pep Guardiola is the best coach in the world.

"But if City don't win it, then I hope that Pep has the balls to say he was wrong to humiliate a great player like Yaya Toure."

Despite the obvious disconnection between the player and coach, Seluk confirmed that Toure wouldn't seek to leave in the January transfer window.

"Maybe Pep thinks it will be good enough for Yaya to play the last 10 minutes of a League Cup game against a team from the third division.

"In any event, he won't go in January, will fulfil his contract and hope to have the opportunity to prove himself in the meantime."

With such strong words coming from Seluk, it appears Yaya Toure might be spending some more time off the field - as long as Pep's in charge.

Sports / Arsenal Vs Watford (preview)- Wenger Speaks On Tactics & Strategy by FTScores: 2:05pm On Aug 27, 2016
After fumbling to a 4-3 loss against Liverpool and picking up only one point against Leicester City in a 0-0 draw last weekend, Arsenal will be under serious pressure to get results against Watford later today (August 27, 2016).

However, Wenger shouldn't be too worried as The Gunners have a great record against Watford in recent times. The Hornets have lost all six of their games against Arsenal in the Premier League, dating as far back as 1999, when Kanu’s 86th-minute match winning goal fired Arsenal to within just two points of league leaders Manchester United.

“I was happy. After we conceded four goals against Liverpool, the response had to be defensive. We were under shock after our first game but you go to Leicester and come home with a 0-0, it’s disappointing because you wanted to win the game." Wenger said after goalless draw with Leicester City.

“But it cannot be a negative because Leicester will be a very difficult team for everybody. The priority was not to lose and to find our defensive stability back."

“Of course the three points were even more important but you maybe have to take that result with a little perspective and a little distance, and see how good a result it will be. We’ll see that over a longer distance.”

Watford are currently sitting below Arsenal on goal difference on the Premier League table and as you might have guessed - they will do everything possible to make sure they upset Arsenal's plans.

Speaking on tactical formations and strategy his team will adopt against Walter Mazirri's Watford, Wenger Said:
"Watford is always traditionally a difficult place to go, but it’ll be another big test for us because we have to prepare for commitment. We have to prepare for intensity and we have to prepare to play our game in that context as well."

“The 3-1-4-2 system means that defensively you protect more of the centre and of course, naturally, we have to use the width of the pitch well and combine very quickly to penetrate their defensive block. We will have to play our game at our best to have the chance to score goals.”

The game kicks off at 5:00PM (WAT).

Sports / Zlatan Ibrahimovic Set To Equal 91 Year Old Goal Record by FTScores: 7:52pm On Aug 26, 2016
After a brilliant start with Manchester United on his debut, a goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Hull City this Saturday may see the striker equal the club’s 91-year-old goal record.

Zlatan has scored in each of his last three matches (against Leicester City, Bournemouth and Southampto) for Manchester United, making him the ninth man to do so since Ian Storey-Moore in the early 1970s.

Should he score against Hull City tomorrow, he would equal Jimmy Hanson’s record of four goals in a row since debuting for United . Strange as it may seem, Hanson scored on his debut against this weekend’s opponents, Hull City in November, 1924.

He returned in his next match with another goal in a 1-1 draw against Blackpool and then got one more against Derby County. Hanson’s fourth appearance for Manchester United the following September of the 1925/26 season got him is fourth goal in a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa.

He would have stretched his goal run but was unlucky against Burnley as he couldn’t hit the back of the net in a 6-1 win over The Clarets .

Can the Swedish number nine match the 91 year-old goal record and maybe even surpass it? Only time will tell.

Scored in first three appearances for Manchester United

Bob Donaldson – 1892/93
George Millar – 1894/95
Jimmy Hanson – 1924/25
Jack Ball – 1929/30
Ted Buckle – 1946/47
Eddie Lewis – 1952/53
Alex Dawson – 1956/57
Ian Storey-Moore – 1971/72
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 2016/17

Scored in first four appearances:
Jimmy Hanson – 1924/25 & 1925/26

Sports / Watford Vs Chelsea Ends 1-2 - All The Action! by FTScores: 6:00pm On Aug 20, 2016
Walter Mazarri's Watford almost upset Chelsea after taking the lead through Capoue mid-way through the game. But a late come back from The Blues saw Antonio Conte and his team leaving the Vicarage Road Stadium with all three points.

Chelsea lined-up with a 4-2-3-1 formation while Watford concentrated their men at the midfield with a 3-5-2 formation.

After a quite first half with few chances, Capoue finally broke the deadlock after getting on the end of Adlene Guedioura's cross. Composed, the Frenchman controlled the ball and fired a vicious left -footed volley straight into Chelsea's goal - leaving goal keeper Courtois nothing but dazed.

1-0, Watford had the lead 55 minutes into the game.

Trailing behind, Chelsea had to quickly come up with something ... and they did through Batshuayi who scored a rebound off Eden Hazard's initial shot 20 minutes from time.

1-1, the team went celebrating, but Chelsea's coach, Antonio Conte urged his men to get on with play quickly and try to find another goal.
It came just seven minutes later.

Cesc Fabregas made a long pass to Diego Costa who was ahead with two defenders right behind him. Costa reached Watford's penalty area and quickly aligned himself to take the shot which went past goal keeper, Gomes to hand Chelsea the winner!

2-1 it ended in favor of Chelsea.

In other games played today, Manchester City defeated Stoke City 4-1 - thanks to two goals each from Sergio Aguero and Nolito. Liverpool lost away to Burnley 0-2, while Hull City continued their impressive premier league campaign with a 2-0 win over Swansea City.

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Crystal palace 1-0 while West Bromwich Albion lost to Everton in a game that ended 2-1.

Sports / Man Utd Vs Southampton Ends 2-0 - As It Happened! by FTScores: 12:11am On Aug 20, 2016
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s double inspired Manchester United to a convincing 2-0 win over Southampton at Old Trafford on Friday (August 19, 2016).

Being the first premier league game at home, Jose Mourinho gave Paul Pogba his debut – allowing the Frenchman to play the full 90 minutes despite fitness concerns.

A header from Zlatan put United in front 36 minutes into the game. Pogba had the first real chance on goal just 13 minutes after kick-off thanks to a shot taken from the edge of Southampton’s penalty area. Southampton’s goal keeper, Forster made sure his effort came to nothing.

Minutes later, Southampton had their chance at the other end of the field but Tadic couldn’t cause any trouble for De Gea as he was unable to reach a high flying cross provided by Redmond. Not long after, The Saints had another chance on goal through Long, but his shot was off target.

Later, Zlatan came close to scoring a reverse bicycle kick but couldn’t wrap his feet around the ball well enough to trouble Forster. His shot went flying high.

Rooney picked up a loose ball down the right side of Southampton’s field, his cross into the box found Zlatan Ibrahimovic who headed it straight into the back of the net.

Soon after, Anthony Martial tried to double the lead for United but good goal keeping from Forster made sure Southampton was still in the game.

Seven minutes into second half, Southampton gave away a penalty after a clumsy challenge from Clasie brought down Luke Shaw in the penalty area. Zlatan stepped forward to take the penalty – sending Forster the wrong way for United’s second goal.

United continued attacking but couldn’t find their third goal. 2-0 it ended in favor of Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho who spoke to MUTV was delighted with Zlatan’s performance :

“If he doesn’t score, the contribution will be there because he can’t score every week. The way he holds the ball, the way he’s a target man and gives stability to the team, I think he was very good again,” he said after the game.

Both teams had equal shots on goal (11) but Manchester United had more shots on target (5) than Southampton (1) . Thanks to two goals from Zlatan, all three points were taken by Man United despite enjoying less possession (45%).

Manchester United will take on Hull City – who defeated current Premier League Champions, Leicester City in an opening game next Saturday (August 27, 2015).

Sports / Arsenal Ready To Sign Wolfsburg's Julian Draxler by FTScores: 7:13pm On Aug 18, 2016
According to reports, German side, VfL Wolfsburg are set to accept a £41.9m bid from Arsenal to sign the highly rated attacking midfielder, Julian Draxler.

Italian news outlet, Tutto Mercato Web insists Wolfsburg will let the young forward join Arsenal in the coming days to end a prolonged interest in signing the player which has spanned several seasons.

Draxler is in search of Champions League football which the Gunners can offer this campaign, however rumors suggest that French Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain may try to upset the deal.

Both clubs are yet to officially confirm the bid but the reports insists that Arsenal have finally made their bid.

Aged 22, Draxler is known for his speed, technical ability, and his shooting power. He played an important part in Joachim Low’s German side at EURO 2016 and has 24 caps for the senior German national side.

Sports / Chelsea Vs West Ham Ends 2-1 - Here's All The Action! by FTScores: 10:58pm On Aug 15, 2016
Thanks to Eden Hazard and Diego Costa, Chelsea kicked of their 2016/17 EPL campaign on a positive note by defeating West Ham 2-1.

Chelsea had their first real chance on goal 11 minutes into the game after Oscar's brilliant back heel found its way to Ivanovic inside West Ham's penalty area. But a low dive from goal keeper, Adrian stopped Ivanovic's shot from going into the net.

Minutes later, Eden Hazard ran straight at West Ham's goal and got close enough to take a shot which missed by inches.

Hazard was at it again a minute later - taking on two West Ham players on the Hammers side of the field before passing the ball to Diego Costa. A wayward shot from Costa didn't pose any threat to West Ham's goal.

At the stroke of halftime, Diego Costa took a shot on goal which was blocked by the goal keeper, Adrian once again. However, West Ham failed to clear their lines and conceded a penalty after Michail Antonio brought down Azpilicueta who got on the loose ball.

Hazard stepped up to take the penalty, his vicious shot struck the inside roof of West Ham's goal - giving Chelsea the lead.

Sixty two minutes into the game, Willian almost doubled the lead for The Blues but fantastic goal keeping from Adrian made sure West Ham was still in the game.

The equalizer came at the 77th minute when Chelsea failed to clear their lines from a corner kick. A vicious half volley from West Ham's center back, Collins flew past Courtois and into Chelsea's goal post to make it 1-1.

However, Conte's men had no intention of settling for a draw. One minute before the end of regular time, Diego Costa scored the winning goal after picking his spot and firing a low shot from outside the box.

2-1 it ended in favor of Chelsea.

Sports / Yaya Toure Absent From Champions League Squad - Pep Guardiola Explains ! by FTScores: 7:51pm On Aug 15, 2016
Manchester City Coach, Pep Guardiola insists Yaya Toure was not included Manchester City's Champions League squad which faces Steaua Bucharest tomorrow (August16, 2016) because he is better-off training at the Etihad Campus.

Yes, you heard it right...solely for that reason! Yaya was also absent in the 18-man match-day squad for City's unimpressive opening win over Sunderland on Saturday.

City boss, Guardiola who spoke at a press conference in Romania ahead of the match said: "He is much, much better in the last few days."

"But I wasn't sure he was going to play so I prefer to leave him there, training well in Manchester and looking forward to the next game."

"We travelled with young guys (Angus Gunn, Tosin Adarabioyo and Angel Tasende) who may stay out of the selection, and I prefer that to be the young guys than Yaya Toure."

"I respect a lot his career and his qualities but, in the first days, especially against Sunderland, we were looking for a more intensive game, that is the only reason he didn't play."

It appears Pep is systematically freezing Yaya Toure out of the club. The big Ivorian may soon be considering playing elsewhere in England.

Sports / Hull City Vs Leicester City End 2 - 1 - All The Action ! by FTScores: 3:13pm On Aug 13, 2016
Hull City vs Leicester City 2 - 1 - Full-time Scores

Premier League Champions, Leicester City started their 2016/17 campaign on a negative note after suffering a defeat to Hull City in the opening game of the season.

Thanks to goals from Adama Diomande (45th minute) and another from Robert Snodgrass (57th minute), Leicester City were condemned to a disappointing defeat despite a goal from, Riyad Mahrez.

Mahrez's goal from a penalty kick 47 minutes into the game wasn't able to inspire The Foxes to find an equalizer despite several assaults on Hull City's end of the field.

Leicester City had the first chance on goal after Mahrez dribbled past left full back, Robertson - making a pass to Drinkwater who was meters away from Hull's goal post, but his wayward shot curled past the face of goal.

Later on, Hull had a chance on goal through a free kick taken by Robert Snodgrass, but his shot went wide off the mark.

Great team work from The Foxes saw them come close to taking the lead after a buildup from the midfield which saw Ahmed Musa make a through pass to Fuchs. Fuchs' shot on goal was blocked by the legs of goal keeper , Jakupovic before the threat was quickly dealt with by the defenders.

Minutes later, Ahmed Musa latched on to a way ward back pass from one of Hull's defenders - taking on another defender and finally making a pass to Jamie Vardy who wasn't able to put the ball at the back of the net from close range.

The deadlock was finally broken at the stroke of halftime after Diomande's bicycle kick found the back of the net thanks to an Abel Hernandez assist.

Two minutes later Hull City conceded a penalty (despite the foul occurring outside the penalty area) which Mahrez converted with ease.

Fifty seven minutes into the game, a powerful left-footed shot from Snodgrass found its way into Leicester City's goal post leaving goal keeper, Schmeichel rooted to the spot.

2-1, the game ended in favor of Hull City . Manchester City vs Sunderland will come up later today at 5:30 (WAT) with other matches lined up in between.

Sports / Zlatan Promises Showdown As Man U Prepare To Face Bournemouth This Sunday by FTScores: 8:56pm On Aug 12, 2016
After marking his arrival at Manchester United with a goal wining header against Leicester City last Sunday, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reaffirmed that there isn't any time to lose.

It appears Zlatan will lead up front once again as the Red Devils hope to start the season positively on Sunday against Bournemouth.

"I'm used to winning titles, I have not come here to waste time," he said.

"For me every trophy is very serious, and this was our first opportunity to take a trophy home."

"I will not be satisfied until I have won all the trophies, I've come here to win and I think the philosophy is the same for the club, a club like this is made to win."

Thanks to a pending suspension from the Serie A, Jose Mourinho will be without world record signing, Paul Pogba when the Red Devils take on The Cherries.

The match kicks off at 1:30PM (WAT) .

Sports / Juan Mata, Others To Leave Manchester United by FTScores: 7:05pm On Aug 09, 2016
According to the Telegraph, Juan Mata, Bastian Shweinsteiger, Marcus Rojo and Dailey Blind have been told they are free to find new clubs after the signing of Paul Pogba.

Despite joining Manchester United last season, Bastian Shweinsteiger played a very limited role under former coach Luis Van Gal due to injuries and lack of match fitness. Rumors have it that the skillful German player may be returning to Bayern Munich.

On Juan Mata, it appears Manchester United’s new coach, Jose Mourinho doesn’t have much liking to the “short” midfielder. You may recall, Mata left Chelsea for United last season while Mourinho was coach of Chelsea.

He was embarrassed on Sunday after he was hurriedly taken off during the Community Shield Cup match against Leicester City for being too “small“.

In other related news, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are planning a $65 million deadline day move for Everton’s striker, Romelu Lukaku. Meanwhile, Manchester City have agreed to pay 42M pounds plus add-ons to sign John Stones from Everton.
