You didn't mention which province you will be landing. Let me use Ontario to respond.

1. He can resume anytime. Even towards the end of the school year.

2. Catholic public schools are free. Don't know if they will make it compulsory to show a baptismal card.

This thread has been very helpful, many thanks to all the contributors.

I have received my ppr and sent my passport, awaiting COPR. Please I will appreciate answers to my questions below;

1. My child will be 4 in dec, I understand he is qualified for kindergarten. Please is there a fixed time he has to resume or can he just join anytime we arrive? We are thinking of leaving mid-september.

2. Are catholic schools totally free for kindergartners? We are not catholics though.
