Bailly looks very comfortable because whenever two of our center defenders using right foot (Bailly, Jones and Smalling) are paired, it is Bailly who gets to play on the comfortable right side. Then Smalling. Jones is only played on the right when partnering a left footer.

What does this mean? It could be that Bailly is not yet trusted to handle less comfortable positions. Although I see him as out most confident player. I love his confidence. However looking at the pairings, he is played in his comfortable position. On the other hand, Jones is the one who is played on the left always. It could also mean the coach trust Jones more or that he relies on his experience or that Jones is better using both feet.

Age has nothing to do with talent! Bailly is our best defender at united bar none! It is not his business that his seniors in the team have decided to remain as otondos for the foreseeable future! What did jones and co learn from vidic and rio? Who is stopping them from still being leaders even under a pragmatic coach like jose who improves defenders?

And Smalling going for a tackle would not have been in anyway _stupid....no one is saying he should have gone in 2 footed but at least try and shunt the guy wide or even from struggling to get a foot in rather than joining him in waiting for his teammate to come and collect the ball and score? It is baillys absence that has caused Phil jones to start to regress. Baily usually communicates to him and gives him solid ideas but that dunce called smalling is the polar opposite...he always injects panic into any of his partners....even when that guy was trying to pass to vardy why not even try a tackle? He was just staring at the ball and shaking like one jellyfish till vardy collected the pass! Smfh!
