In most cases those guys are not directly paid by the food outlets or restaurants cause they belong to a security company who pay them poorly. But I think the management of these eateries can do better by offering them something decent to eat while at work.

Even if they are paid directly by Chicken republic i do not think they will be so foolish to spend from that small salary to buy expensive food at chicken republic in this economy where there are numerous expenses daily. They were bought online. The seller or the store would provide proof of purchase for those items and that’s what is supposed to be used to calculate the duty fees.

1.2M naira divided by current rate of 1600 is $750. The item costs from the screenshots attached is $1433.66 when converted to USD.

Why would the customs charge you $750 for items worth $1433.66? They claimed they used the value of the items now. Those two phones are old phones and not brand new. Check on Apple website and see if you’ll find that particular iPhone 12 still selling there.

The second phone is S23FE it is clearly written in the description as “mint” that means it’s not a new phone.

How did DHL and customs come about the valuation they gave both phones to warrant a duty fee of $750?

Due to job challenges in Nigeria, many Nigerians does not really have a good job, if I say “good”,I mean job of around 150k monthly. Because of that they either look for people in their field, or look for those high profile profession like Lecturing, lawyer,Accounting, not knowing that the narrative as changed as it was before that those profession were lucrative and were valued in society of Nigeria.
In Nigeria of today, a lawyer might not really make money up to a man that does POS, but because the job isn’t a white collar job or office work, most ladies in medicine won’t derive interest in such person even if the love is real. They have forgotten that true love matters and not considering any profession.
On the contrary, those guys they are tripping for in their dept don’t really end up marrying them. Most of them don’t like them because they don’t really make good wife in “child upbringing “ Only few of them does.
An average medical profession lady will be in hospital most time of her life, now if husband also does the same thing, who will nurture the children?
So, that’s why most were either single till old age, I know a chiprotractor in Florida still looking for husband at 62 years, imagine! She has never married before and had no child.
Some married wrongly because they don’t want to marry out of their field, and some that married were later divorced. That’s one of the reasons.

Then i think that is an abysmall and dumb thinking of those medical females. they are the ones whom i think cannot major up to the standard of an Engineering, my own sister is graduate nurse, and she vowed in her life never to marry any medical doctor for any reason at all. reason been they are very broke; she was able to think like that because she was very well informed that engineers earn way more than most of them. How do you even consider Lecturing and medical doctor a high-class profession in Nigeria. you guys must be really joking. how much do they even earn per month, like 150K. my entry level pay i earned more than double that amount when i started as an engineer more than 15 years ago. In my current level now as an experience engineer i do not think anyone in my profession with that much level of experience can collect anything less than N3M monthly.

For your info i have more experience than you, i have almost 20 years in the same oil and gas. if you have that much experience then you should have known that most of these jobs are actually handled by recruitment agency and not the actual company, and not all the recruitment firms has so much information you can get by just researching the internet, some are well known with standard and some are relatively new and they are lucky to get a contract from the oil and gas company so do not say what you do not know. and for your info me and the useless company has already talked about salary, and it was a huge amount, i even research the firms address i saw the picture of the building on google street view it looked okay for a recruitment firm even though i didn't see much people on LinkedIn who work there i decided to give a try because the idiots confirm they were starting up, i still blame myself as i never asked the idiots to book my flight or pay me for it. but there is always an experience one must have in life.
From that day onward i request all interviews from any company whether Total E&P or Shell or i will request for flight money, and i always get my wish done. so, like I have what to offer, no employer is doing me any favors, we are both dig ourselves favours, you can worship employers all you want. peace.

I think before any country legalize this gay stuff, they should also amend their laws to ensure that gays and transgender should always declare their sexual orientation to their sexual counterpart before any sex, failure to do so will attract some form of jail term. you cannot come and use your own to spoil my mental health.

You could have politely asked for the option of a virtual interview. If they oblige, lucky you. If not, you move on.

Lastly, sales jobs are hard. Sales of insurance is something else. Nigerians do not buy insurance. We cover with the blood of Jesus. So you can let this one go, but don't behave this way again.

This is myopic of you, don't say Nigerians don't buy insurance a lot do. i do and all of my friends have bought more than 1 insurance plan thus far. and showing the socalled employer the errors of their way is the right way to go, that shows he is someone who values his self worth, you should not encourage people to remain in the old ways of seeing employer as some form of demigod. We are not begging for job in this era, you need some form of services via skill from me and i have the required skillset to fulfil your needs you hire me i do the job and get paid for my services, i tell you the exact amount i want if you agree to pay fine other wise i tell you to go fvck yourself, and i do not ever lack job.

With this kind of attitude, it's no wonder many are still without a job. It's not that the jobs aren't available, I've just received my third offer letter in five months. We need to learn to change our attitudes.

Offer letter for how much salary na. It is not by receiving peanut offer. Any employer who ask me to come for a physical interview anywhere i will just tell you where i am and remind you that you will definitely re-emburse transport to me at least. I started doing that after one usless company invited me all the way from port harcourt to Ikoyi Lagos. i took flight and chartered taxi from the airport down there and i found out that the company is in one rented building there in Ikoyi i was already boiling, when i was been interview the useless MD wanted me to do a business bidding for a contract the are planning to apply for, after i knew i have been used ontop my hard earned money, i insulted the living day light out of the MD and all the usless boys he was using to do his useless bidding and warned them never to ever call my number again. this incident happened in 2019.

I have rejected countless jobs in this manner as a matter of fact before i attend your interview if it is not visual you have to tell me the amount you are willing to pay and the duration of the job. I have told a recruiter to fvckoff before because he awanted to pay peanut salary of less than N500K.
