BUSINESS PLAN FOR EQUIPMENT LEASING & HIRE SERVICE

Executive Summary
The proposed business concept is about the rental and hire of heavy construction equipment known as the Pail Loader.
The day to day management of the business will be handled by Mr Bolarinwa Awofisibe an experienced building and construction expert with years of practical and theoretical knowledge.
A key component of the business strategy is to continue to add to its ever-increasing market knowledge.
The company is seeking a loan/credit line in the amount of N10, 000,000 for the purchase of a CAT 950F Wheel Loader Equipment. Projected turnover after 24 months is N15, 600,000.00.
Payback period is 24 months
The business is expected to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the construction industry within the Lekki Ajah axis and the Lagos metropolis as a whole. The coverage area of the business is expected to increase within the first six months of operations as other areas will become aware of the business.

THE CAT 950F WHEEL LOADER EQUIPMENT
This loader is a heavy equipment machine often used in construction, primarily used to load material (such as asphalt, demolition debris, dirt, clearing of forest and trees, gravels, sand, rock, recycled materials etc.) into or onto another type of machinery (such as a dump truck, conveyor belt, feed-hoper or railcar). It is a type of tractor usually wheeled, sometimes on tracks, that has a front mounted square wide bucket connected to the end of two booms (arms) to scoop up loose materials from the ground such as dirt, sand, gravel and move it from one place to another without pushing the material from ground level and deposit it into an awaiting dump truck or into an open trench excavation.

New Optional Guarding and Air Cleaner Systems
Caterpillar continues to refine the 950F Wheel Loader Industrial Arrangement for enhanced durability and reliability and extended maintenance intervals in demanding demolition applications. Starting in third quarter 2010, the specially equipped wheel loader can be fitted with new options including a new rear machine guard and new precleaners for engine air and for cab air.

The rear machine guard is designed to keep material from damaging the fan, radiator and engine enclosure. Additional rear working lights that activate while the machine is in reverse are included with the rear guard. The dual-stage engine air precleaner has a turbine-type first stage and a canister second stage. The system enhances air filtration and extends engine air filter maintenance intervals in high debris environments. Similarly, the cab air precleaner employs a powered, precleaner for improved filtration and extended cab air filter maintenance intervals. The new options provide more uptime and decreased operating costs.

These enhancements build on the proven Cat® 950F Industrial Arrangement, which features heavy-duty guarding for both machine and operator protection. In turn, the Industrial Arrangement builds on the versatile and productive foundation of the 950F Wheel Loader. The 950F produces 197 constant net horsepower (147 kW) and handles bucket sizes of 3.25 to 4.5 cubic yards (2.5 to 3.5 cubic meters) in most applications.

The 950F features a load sensing hydraulic system that automatically adjusts to operating conditions to provide only the hydraulic flow required by the implement. Additionally, the Cat C7 engine is electronically configured to provide constant net horsepower even when parasitic
Loads, such as cooling fans and air conditioning, are drawing power. Both systems promote high productivity and improve fuel efficiency.
Durable and productive

The 950F Industrial Arrangement features complete guarding of components to prevent damage and reduce downtime. Front drive guard and axle seal guards keep wire and other debris from wrapping around the axles. Hinged bottom guards protect the engine crankcase, transmission and other power train components. The steering cylinder and articulated hitch area are guarded, as is the tilt cylinder. Both the hydraulic tank and fuel tank are protected as well. Light guards and a windshield guard protect components around the operator.

The Cat limited slip differential axles provide traction and stability in difficult underfoot conditions, and their reliability and durability is proven. For flat-proof operation without a harsh ride, Caterpillar offers Flexport™ tires—solid, ported tires. The elliptical port design extends tire life, and the ports themselves cushion the ride for both the operator and the machine.

To promote high productivity in load and carry tasks, the optional Ride Control System cushions the work tool with a hydraulic accumulator system. The result is a smoother ride and better load retention.

Expanded versatility

The 950F Industrial Arrangement is equipped for multi-tasking on the demolition site. The Fusion quick coupler is designed for quick changes of work tools while keeping the load close to the loader for strong performance. A number of bucket and fork options as well as multiple auxiliary hydraulic options enable the 950F to handle a variety of attachments and materials efficiently.

For example, the Cat industrial grapple bucket can grip and retain irregularly shaped loads. Two hydraulic grapples clamp down on the load in the bucket to promote fast and secure sorting and loading of demolition debris.

High lift loader linkage arrangements are available for applications requiring additional dump clearance. The high lift linkage adds about 20 inches (489 mm) of lift height, which can speed truck loading tasks.
Built for the operator

For easy operator access and egress, the 950F has both left and right cab doors and ladders. The primary, left-side ladder is self-cleaning and features a 5-degree forward incline. The main cab door opens a full 180°. Platforms are wide and allow easy movement to the front or rear of the machine.

Electro-hydraulic implement controls with soft detents provide simultaneous lift and tilt capabilities. With the electro-hydraulic system, kickouts are programmable from within the cab for easy changes when the height of the target changes. An optional electro-hydraulic joystick is available with the same functionality.

The 950F provides excellent visibility to both the front and rear of the machine. Distortion-free flat glass stretches to the floor of the cab for excellent visibility to the bucket. An optional rear vision camera is available to clearly monitor movement behind the wheel loader.


The business will be managed by Mr Bolarinwa Awofisibe and a Machine Operator.
I Bolarinwa a Quantity-Surveyor by profession and current manager of GABOLS SOLUTIONS, major in equipment leasing and general contracts. I started my professional career with RATCON Construction Company in Lagos, working on the constructions of roads which include; Okodua road in Apapa, Church Road in Yaba, Eko Atlantic City Projects and rehabilitation of Idiroko-Mile12 road all in Lagos state. I also worked with Parsons Engineering Company LTD on the construction of roads in Ekiti State. These roads include; Ijesa Isu-Ode road, Aisegba Ijesa-Isu road, Ode-Imesi Ile road etc., I also oversee the business activities of GS. I have spent a whole lot of time working with various construction machines and I have a wide knowledge of managing and maintaining them.
We at GABOLS SOLUTIONS also have a wide range of connectivity with construction companies both on the mainland and the highland in Lagos State and other neighboring State in the area of Equipment leasing and hiring. This network of business transactions would aid the marketing ability of any equipment in our possession for hiring purposes. I also have the technical know-how of most of the construction works out there for the machines and with the ability to recommend the appropriate equipment for a given task. OUR PROPOSAL
From the above mentioned description of this equipment it can be seen that its functions and usefulness are immeasurable. It has a ready and steady market amongst construction companies, property managers, individuals and lots more. This equipment has been proven to make an average of N50, 000 naira a day as cost of hiring which doesn’t include cost of fueling and other expenses. Also from current experience in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, there is high demand for its services. This claim can be verified in the on-going construction projects that are taken place in the zone.

We at GEL, a duly registered company under the corporate affairs commission, hereby propose to go into partnership with an investor with the following terms.
1) That the investor provides a capital of N10million for the purchase and clearing of the said equipment, or the investor solely buys perfect working equipment. For operations purpose.
2) That the cost of maintenance and other required repairs as the need arises will be bon by GS.
3) That the said equipment would be purchased and duly registered under the name of the investor.
4) That a payment plan for the remittance of the invested funds including an agreed percentage interest on capital be reached within a stipulated time frame. That the remits would be made every month and within the stipulated time frame.
5) That upon full payment of the agreed amount of the remittance, the ownership of the said equipment would be transferred to GS.
6) That failure to abide with the stated and other agreed plan would lead to the termination of contract.

SECURITY ON INVESTMENT.
The current market value of the CAT 950F WHEEL LOADER (an old model) ranges between N10million to N16million in the open market, this claim can also be verified at the appropriate junctions. This fact guarantees that the capital invested by the investor is secured as he/she owns the equipment until the agreed remittance is made within the stipulated time frame and can terminate, re-sell the equipment due to contractual disagreement.
COST AND MAINTENANCE.
It is quite expensive purchasing a brand new loader as its price ranges between 65,000- 80,000 US Dollars excluding import duties and other tariffs. Used once are made available for sale by major manufacturers such as CAT, VOLVO etc. we are recommending from our experience that we purchase the CAT 950F WHEEL LOADER due to its durability, reliability and affordability. The cost of purchasing and importing this equipment from CAT through the services of an accredited agent in Germany into the country arrives at an estimated amount of 7million and another estimated amount of 1million naira would be needed for its clearing at the Nigerian ports.
Due to the durability of this equipment, the cost of its operations doesn’t go beyond its fueling and maintenance which is quite reasonable. Also due to its year of manufacture, its parts are readily available in the Nigerian market and our technical expertise also knows how to manage it during period of breakdown and maintenance requirement.

The proposed business plan is an avenue in the Nigerian economy which has not be fully discovered and exploited thereby making room for large profits by investor and participants in this sector of the economy.
