Abuja, like most of the Nothern States, is dry when it comes to purchasing catfish fingerlings; due to the type of water there which is not condusive to the health and breeding of fry and fingerlings.

Most farmers come to the West to buy and transport the fingerlings to there farm. Some even come from the east too.

Those breeding fingerlings are rare, from our own findings, in Abuja.
