35' Blind plays a quick one-two with Memphis before breaking into the left-hand side of the PSV penalty area, but Lestienne is there to poke the ball out of play for a corner. The resulting set-piece is curled towards Smalling but Hendrix is there to hook the ball away from danger.

33' A PSV attack breaks down and United immediately push forward on a counter attack of their own. Young flies down the right wing before curling a cross into the heart of the penalty area, but Hendrix does well to track back and cut out the danger before the pass can meet Martial.

32' A poor pass from Rojo allows PSV to push forward once again. This time it's Lestienne who breaks through the United back line before testing De Gea, but again he starts his run too early and is stopped by the linesman's flag.

31' Brenet dispossess Young before breaking away on a quick counter attack. He plays a great one-two with Propper before teeing up Narsingh, but the winger's run is slightly mistimed and the linesman's flag is immediately raised as a result.

29' Again, United pass the ball around patiently after finding themselves pushed back inside their own half of the pitch. Schweinsteiger eventually decides to launch a pass forward but it's completely overhit and can only find Zoet.

28' Guardado is brought down from behind by Herrera, resulting in a free kick for PSV just inside their own half of the pitch. They take it short but quickly lose possession on the right flank due to good defending by Blind.

26' United patiently work the ball around their own half of the pitch before Smalling finally darts forward, but he's quickly closed down and is forced to work his way backwards once again.

Rojo comes onto the pitch to replace Shaw as the game finally gets back underway after a 10-minute break.

23' Shaw receives a standing ovation as he's finally stretchered off the pitch and down the tunnel.

21' The word is that Shaw looks to have broken his leg. After enjoying such a bright start to the season, that is a real blow for such a talented youngster.

19' The atmosphere inside the stadium has completely changed as Shaw continues to receive medical treatment. Everybody looks shell-shocked and quiet has descended amongst all of the fans.

14' After a lengthy series of passes, Shaw embarks on a wonderful run through the middle of the pitch and into the PSV penalty area, but Moreno brings it to an end with a thumping sliding tackle that leaves the left-back in a heap on the floor and in serious discomfort.

8' It's been a tentative start to the game from both sides, neither of whom look particularly comfortable on the ball and are unwilling to commit too many bodies forward at this early stage.

6' Early chance for Martial! Mata sends a brilliant lofted pass forward that finds Memphis on the left flank, and the former PSV winger cuts inside before unleashing a low cross that the aforementioned striker toe-pokes into the hands of Zoet at the near post.

4' A long pass forward from Brenet finds Propper, who immediately spins round Smalling before aiming for the middle of the United box. He almost makes it before Schweinsteiger dispossesses the Dutchman with a vital tackle from behind.

36' Atletico escape! A wayward Atletico pass is cleared in no-nonsense fashion by Mathieu and it turns out to be a glorious pass for Suarez, who races through to the area. He wait for Neymar and picks him out. The Brazilian skips past two challenges, sees a shot blocked by Gimenez and then Suarez wins a corner.

34' At last, some meaningful Atletico possession in the Barca half. They have absorbed the pressure so far, is this them finally coming out of their shell

30' It's all Barca at the moment really. The away side are dominating the ball and without too much to stop them. Atletico are pressing well when the visitors get into the final third, but not so much until then.

17' TORRES MISSES! Griezmann was caught offside from the free-kick, but quickly after the re-start the Frenchman is causing problems. The former Real Sociedad star plays a cute pass between two defenders and his striker partner races on to it, before blazing over in the area.

16' Respite now for Atletico as Torres challenges Mascherano in the air and wins himself a free-kick just inside the visitors' half. They refuse to push too many men forward.

15' OBLAK SAVES! Lovely move by Barca again. Iniesta picks the ball up on the left, darts inside and skips past a couple of challenges. He prods a clever pass to the far side of the area for Rakitic, who arrives late, but the goalkeeper makes a vital save to deny the Croatian's goal-bound effort.

14' Suarez is writhing around in pain now after nudging the ball past Gabi and seemingly getting caught in the face by the Atletico captain. He get the free-kick, though no card comes out.

12' The sounds of frustration can be heard coming from the home fans now, as Barca knock the ball around unchallenged at the back. It's fair to say that they aren't particularly impressed with Atletico's start.

10' Very cool and tidy play at the back by Barca. The visitors snuff out an attack coming down their right flank and they play their way out of danger, as Rafinha jinks past one tackle, finds Iniesta, who in turn lays off to Busquets with a first-time pass and he then picks out the young Brazilian again. All very intricate and eye-catching.

It's an absolute wonder-strike from Christian Benteke! A goal of the season candidate and we're only in September! Clyne's cross is deflected high into the air by Blind. Benteke shields his marker and meets it with the most incredible overhead volley Old Trafford has seen since Rooney did it against City!

Martial dribbles his way past three defenders en route into the area from the left, including a nutmeg on Skrtel, before curling a shot past Mignolet and in at the far post!

80' Liverpool are left chasing the game and trying to mount an improbable comeback, yet they're unable to win the ball back. It's the Red Devils who continue to enjoy the bulk of possession and are doing brilliantly to limit the Reds when they try and break out of their own end.

78' Another poor clearance from Mignolet, though this time he was put under pressure from Martial, sees him give the ball away. Fellaini is picked out in the centre and sprays a good ball out wide for Shaw, but a nice recovery from Skrtel denies the left-back's cross from getting through.
