Hard luck |
After checking around further for a place to lay my head but without success, I have made up my mind, since I have a plot of land that I was fortunate enough to buy some years ago, the area is now developing quickly because of the recent price hike. I checked with some builders on the estimated cost of a 1 bedroom structure. I have been getting different figures ranging between 2 million naira to as high as 5 million. I am on a very lean budget and I currently do not have such amount of money at hand, just sheer determination. Some encourage me to get on with the little I have, but I am worried, as I wouldn't want to be caught half way. I am going to make my final consultation on this project this morning and take a step towards it within the next 2 or 3 days. Stay tuned. |
Hi guys! My name is Ruth, an enterprising young Nigeria lady, trying to make a decent living the right way, in a time when my peers are easily taken to the easy ways of life. Of course I know that I am very good looking, and that I have all it takes if I want to ply that trade, but no, I can't trade my morals just for easy life. So, I took to the hard way, to do a legitimate business. I saved up some money, coupled with the little I could get from my Mum, and then I went on to try my luck in business. Business hasn't been easy one bit. Some days, I win. Some days, I lose big time. Notwithstanding, the next day, I am at it again, not giving up. But the more I try, the more the challenges I face, day after day. But I kept on. To make matters worse, just the other day, I got served a Notice to Quit by my landlord. I live with my mom and 2 younger siblings in a 1 bedroom apartment somewhere on the outskirts of Abuja, the Nigerian capital city. Life has been tough ever since. Notwithstanding, I remain resolute and committed to my morals. Walk with me as I make efforts to crack this newest "gbese" before me. This is in form of a diary where I recount my ordeals and possibly, triumph, in this recent issue. Walk with me, and pray for me while at it. I will update this thread time to time as things unfold. Shalom! ![]()
