PoliticsRe: Tinubu decentralizes NCAT, splits campuses into 6 Geopolitical Zones by garyjohnson: 4:07am On Jan 10, 2025
The Ibos never made anything good in history. Go and verify!

Ibos ruined Nigeria and it’s the repercussions of the evils of your fathers that you’re suffering from today and possibly tomorrow.

Ask your father for history before coming here to talk with saliva all over your face.

viodemus:
Who wants to rule Nigeria again. the igbos made Nigeria, and will destroy it - instead of it to destroy us.

Who are the “We”?

Do you mean people from 5 plots whose votes are not up to that of Niger state?

Or your inconsequential family?

Streetinvestor2:
we will not still vote for him in 2027 like we did not vote him in 2023.
Tell him to conduct free and fair elections to all in 2027 or nigeria will burn.Unless they want the military to come back which will be better than this government. The nigeria youth will defend thr vote in 2027 with thr blood. The rubbish of go to corrupt judiciary will not happen and server glitch will not be accepted again.

Nigerians are the biggest political illiterates, especially Southern Nigerians.

aswani:
Ambode was brought in by a structure and he wasn't sensible enough to destroy or overwhelm the structure when he was showing it a lack of regard, of course the structure fought back and ensured he lasted one term.

There is a lot more to Nigerian politics and state gorvenance than what you see with your eyes.

But the person still has to win the party's primary polls, no?

Elusive001:
Every single opinion here or even by Lagos masses will never ever matter.

Only one man will decide and choose who will replace him.

Why did you say so?

If Gbaja emerges the Governorship candidate for ApC in Lagos state , his loyality to the powers and Principality in Lagos state will reduce

Hehehehe

Only Tinubu can answer the question, even BabaJide Sanwo-Olu doesn't know.
PoliticsWho Will Succeed Governor Sanwoolu? by garyjohnson(op):
The race for 2027 has begun and political permutations have started flying all over the place.
With the All Progressives Congress (APC), these are the likely contenders for Governor Babajide Sanwoolu's position as the CEO of Nigeria's richest and most populous state.

Although main concerns of the Lagos State Indigenes (The Locals) are:

- A conservative who will protect the interest of the Indigenes

- The ègún people of Badagry which is the South Western part of Lagos have never had the opportunity to govern the state from inception and deserve a chance

- The North Eastern part of Lagos which are the Ikorodu people also demands for a shot as they’ve never produced a democratically elected Governor of the state. (Mobolaji Johnson the first military administrator of the state is from Ikorodu). They have also be loyal to APC and delivered for the President even while he lost state wide.

- Due to the nature of Lagos, the state needs a Technocrat more than a politician.

- Sustainability of existing development projects

These were the major grassroot concerns we gathered from our research.

What are your thoughts?

PoliticsKemi Badenoch Is Now UK Opposition Leader. by garyjohnson(op): 12:33pm On Nov 02, 2024
In a pivotal moment for the Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch has emerged victorious in the leadership race, defeating her rival Robert Jenrick to become the new leader of the opposition. This announcement was made in the early hours of November 2, 2024, marking the end of a four-month contest that followed a significant electoral defeat for the Conservatives in July of the same year.

Badenoch, known for her previous roles as Secretary of State for Business and Trade, and her tenure as Minister for Women and Equalities, brings a unique blend of experience and perspective to the forefront of British politics. Her campaign focused on grassroots engagement rather than extensive media battles, a strategy that evidently resonated with the Conservative Party members.

The race concluded with Badenoch securing 53,806 votes, a significant lead over Jenrick, who managed 41,388 votes. The margin reflects a clear mandate from the party’s base, signaling a desire for change in direction and leadership style following Rishi Sunak’s resignation. Badenoch’s victory speech underscored her commitment to tackling the challenges ahead, particularly the daunting task of unifying the party and regaining voter trust after a historic loss to Labour.

Throughout the campaign, Badenoch positioned herself as a pragmatist, advocating for policies that balance economic growth with social responsibilities. Her approach during a televised leadership debate hosted by GB News highlighted her detailed grasp of policy and her ability to connect with both party members and the broader electorate. Badenoch emphasized practical governance over ideological rigidity, a stance that was particularly evident in her discussions on contentious issues like Brexit and immigration.

Her leadership comes at a critical juncture for the Conservatives, with the party needing to redefine its identity and strategy. Badenoch has promised to scrap Labour’s proposed VAT on private school fees as her first legislative move, signaling her intent to appeal to traditional Conservative voter bases while addressing economic pressures faced by the middle class.

Political analysts have noted that Badenoch’s background and her narrative of rising from working-class roots to political leadership could reshape the Conservative image, potentially appealing to a broader demographic. However, her task remains monumental: to rebuild the party’s reputation, tackle internal divisions, and devise a strategy to challenge a Labour government enjoying a significant parliamentary majority.

The leadership contest, while competitive, did not feature as many candidates as some past races, suggesting a party looking for stability and perhaps a fresh start. Badenoch’s win also indicates a shift towards diversity within the party’s leadership, with her becoming one of the few women of color to reach such heights in British politics.

As the dust settles on this leadership election, all eyes will be on Badenoch to see how she navigates the complex political landscape, manages party dynamics, and sets the stage for the Conservatives’ future. Her tenure as leader of the opposition begins against a backdrop of political recovery, with the next general election years away, offering both time and pressure to demonstrate her capability in steering the party back to power.

It’s very uncommon for people like you from the very infertile land that you germinated from to be happy when they see others happy.
Y’all were brought up to be bitter, sadistic and filled with utmost hatred.

Igbos are the people we all know that live fake lives.
When you go to your stinky shit hole villages for new yam festival or onwa December and post your mansions on social media as big deals when others are showing off with infrastructure, nobody hates you for it.

Why are you bitter now?

I thought you people said every other Nigerian is poor and you people are not suffering?

Why is this making you so upset?

GODPUNISHALABI:
everywhere rented clothes, debts , just to go and dance away ur sorrows in the midst of mind blowing poverty , its the middle of the year igbos are everywhere world wide making money this once dey celebrate owambe for middle of year later them go dey shout ebi pawa oo ....while the igbos are posting state of the art mansions in their respective villages

BusinessCan Ponzi Schemes Still Make Wave In Nigeria? by garyjohnson(op): 9:45am On Oct 18, 2017
I observed the rate at which ponzi schemes rose, grew and became a general trend in Nigeria from September last year(predominantly). Although lots of fingers have been burnt on this subject matter, do you still think Nigerians will put their money in any ponzi scheme again?
