Thank you Mr Samuel ...I made Hotel reservation through Booking.com but haven't paid though my reservation had been confirmed via email which I will do the print out and summit along but since I have not paid , hope I will not have issue obtaining visa because of that.
Thank you once again.I will be submitting tomorrow morning .
From my past experiences, it's mandatory to have a paid-for hotel reservation rather than booking.com. i know someone who was refused because of that booking.com hotel booking. Please try to get a confirmed hotel reservation, if all your other documents are intact, you will get the visa.

Did apply in Lagos? Cos I know they still give exceptional skills outside SA. However you must get a job before 12months and go to a home affairs office and submit proof that u are gainfully employed
To prove that you have complied with the conditions endorsed on your Critical Skills / Quota work visa, please e-mail the following documentation to permitcompliance@dha.gov.za
Certified copy of the first page of your valid passport
Certified copy of your valid Critical Skills / Quota work visa in your passport
Valid contract of employment with your current employer
Comprehensive curriculum vitae in respect of yourself

Yes i applied in Lagos and i already had an offer for employment which i have of course accepted.

When i get to SA, do i still need to go to the home affairs office to submit all the documents listed?

Thanks a lot for the advise.

Congrats.

Exceptional skills is the old name for critical skills permit, it's similar.

You can renew the visa when it expires, albeit, you can apply for a permanent residence immediately with the current visa you have and God willing, you can get it even before your current visa expires.

Cheers!
Many thanks for the info.

Best regards

Hello house,

I finally got my visa today! Praise God!.

However, i applied for critical skills and got exceptional skills - 2years.

Does anyone know why this was issued rather than the critical skills? And is it renewable?

Hello house,

I'm so glad this forum exists, however, i wish i had found it a little sooner...

Anyways, I recently got offered employment by a South African company and i traveled to SA in March to finalize stuff with them. I came back home to apply for the Critical Skills visa. After a lot of back and forth, i got all the required documents except for the confirmation letter from the professional body in SA (IITPSA). However, i have paid for the membership and even gotten an acknowledgement email from the membership officer requesting for my updated CV showing work experience start and end dates. Due to the time i had already spent of getting saqa and other docs (my employemt was supposed to start in May), i decided to do some research and came across Directive 22 of 2014 (http://www.nwivisas.com/nwi-blog/south-africa/immigration-directive-no-22-of-2014/) which basically states that if there's no written confirmation from professional body but there's proof of application for membership with the professional body, then there is no need for any letter of confirmation. So i summoned courage and went to submit yesterday(Thursday) with all other document complete apart from the said letter. i was told to acknowledge an "Incomplete Application" form and state my reason, so i simply quoted the Directive 22 of 2014.

Right now, I have faith i'll get the visa, but to be honest i am terrified inside me.

Does anyone have any words of encouragement for me smiley cry smiley cry smiley
