Hi Gazzuzz, hi house . I really need some help regarding my 2000 sienna . I observed some oil leakage jus above the front exhaust manifold. What could be the cause of the oil leak ? Secondly when I put the gear in reverse after driving the car to operating temperature, it enters with force. It enters reverse smoothly when I move in the morning. Lastly, my steering is hard again after some specialist had worked on the steering rack. After the car was returned, the steering was only soft before the engine got hot . Should I change my rack and what is the price range ? Someone said 22k and another said 40k . I'm confused

At first, I thought it was a scam. But I decided to take a risk and to be honest with nairalanders, this person isn't your typical businessman obsessed with profit or sth. In fact, I was surprised with the whole story . I stay here in Enugu and the power bank was sent hassle free. My spirit pray for you . There are still honest people around . Long live Nairaland.

Pls just want to know if Hyundai Santafe 2005 is easy to maintain and if parts are readily available. Also kindly educate me on possible issues this car is likely to encounter. Thanks.

From my personal experience with that car for a year, i would advice you to run away from it . Final decision rests on you tho.

ohh sorry sir
Your car must be very sick cheesy

Yea you're right sir...I lost the engine that came with it due to engine sludge...It started making knocking sounds when u pass 1500rpm...But testament to Toyota, I used the engine like that for almost 3 months with ac and even travelled to Abeokuta with it...I eventually changed it for 100k . Thank God it wasn't in this recession time, I might have been carless grin

45Million can build a clean set of 12-15 Self Cons and rent in Akwa Ibom

why waste it on shapeless metal undecided

a good RX330/ Honda Pilot at 4M will serve my SUV needs well

Bros your head dey dere jare...I always tell people that I will prefer a tokunbo car over a brand new car . Forget say brandnew car, I've seen my tokunbo sienna outlast those ugly yeye plastic cars of today . Plus after 2 years of driving in Nigeria, you cannot differentiate between a tokunbo or brand new... most of those that buy brand new do it for Bragging purposes . They are some exceptional sound tokunbos.

Interesting point to note for people who underestimate the speed of those things, They're fast and safer . Any mode of transportation comes with risk . But risk levels are different

You're right, the rickety ones I guess...There are well maintained one that gets u to your destination without a fuss . Safety is paramount.

In light of the recent accident on the Ibadan expressway that claimed 16 life's, I have come to think of it that the best means of travelling long distances by road in Nigeria with relative low risk is by using the luxurious buses . Although they're break down, i. e the rickety ones . There are some new ones that get you to your definition safely . On impact, most Hiaces tend to have higher casualty than the luxurious buses . Take for instance the luxurious bus that plunged into a river in Lagos, if it was the popular hiace, the casualty rate would have been higher . Your takes and opinions.....

[color=#990000]I was only being sarcastic when I suggested you replace all your a.c equipment.

Not every sienna comes with a rear evaporator.

You should patronize a workshop that has skilled hands and proper equipment.

Not much I can do from here.

Ohh, better news then that I won't have to replace all...I hope to drop by at your workshop one of these days . Thanks boss . Great job you're doing I must say .

I've only replaced the compressor once and the evaporator ...Also, I discovered that the rear ac doesn't cool as much as the front vent...someone said it also has an evaporator at the back . Will dat require changing too and is it available in the market ? Also it's a 1999 model, does it uses an expansion valve ? I'm ready to do all you've said oo but how much should I be looking at considering the above . Thanks in anticipation of ur reply.

Boss Gazzuzz, earnestly expecting your reply sir to aid my planning.

Detailed repair history?

If you want to return to Factory spec, very easy.

Replace compressor, condenser, pipes, expansion valve, evaporator grin

Car Talk / Re: Honda Pilot Advice Needed by gbope(m): 5:20pm On May 06, 2017
It all comes down to choice, but from personal experience, I would go for the 2005 highlander instead . It depends on what you want sha but for me the structural or suspension parts of Honda's leaves a lot to be desired. Good luck cheers .
